you guys have to make more videos please. Your approach and teaching style is easy to understand. I'm a seasoned professional and still find myself watching your videos. GREAT JOB!
The greatest thanks to both you guys Richard & Dan and the Community College of Philadelphia; I currently live in New Zealand and my father was not much of a mechanic so I was not savvy to auto mechanics as many of my mates, just the basic's. But after viewing and reviewing "Car Corner" I've been impressed with the way you conveyed each segment and the system Tech teaching; a couple of people have mentioned your sight and I eventually stumbled on to your Corner. From me many thanks! I haven't viewed everyone of your vids because I keeps replaying what I have watched, but excellent work and Cheers to all involved.
This lecture is indeed well detailed because he used the simplest approach to explain from beginning of what is in the cylinder head, the engine block. I really liked d way he diagnosed d cylinder zero compression using cylinder compression tester, cylinder leakage tester and finally with d aid of a boroscope detecting d leakage on exhaust valve is indeed a brilliant one. God bless you for the lecture. I am from Nigeria and eid like to see a video on automatic transmission working principle & solving a major transmission issue.
channel really deserves more views. As someone mechanically oriented and with a general to good understanding of physics/chemistry + general workings of a combustion engine, this channel bridges the gap between basic understanding and advanced diagnosis. Thankyou
Not sure your name but every time I watch 1 of your tutorials I'm more impressed than the last time. You have a gift for teaching as well as a technician.
I'm from Papua New Guinea,in Port Moresby now Studying Car Automotive Technician & Mechanics on Line on UA-cam I learned from you a Great Instructor or a Trainer..After theory my theory Automotive Technician & AUTOMOTIVE Mechanic Studies I am taking up my Practical Training from your Corner....
It is absolute insanity that man created this...most of this world can hardly work a toaster. I appreciate the minds of men who enjoy making out lives exciting and easier for the better.
thank you very much! My college professor expects us to memorize and understand how the engine works despite barely teaching, it made me really anxious. I deem your teaching way better than his haha
The camera operator is exceptional . Apparently, not just a person from the photographic department but a mechanic that knows the precedure and knows where to point the camera and to zoom in / out for the best demonstration . Of course, editing, ,particularly noticeable in this video the full view of the borescope screen and close up on the outside of the head . Its very rare to see such careful and precise camera work on a youtube video
I took the practice test for Michigan yesterday and scored 73%. This is without having studied or prepared in any way. Just my experience working on cars and other things. Most of the questions I got wrong was the confusing terminology auto Mechanics use. Such as "Condensors" instead of just calling them capacitors. So I'm going to watch all these videos and then go take the tests.
This Section is my great interest since I am studying Automotive Technician Technicality in Port Moresby on Line..You are great Trainer on UA-cam Automotive TRAINING FACILITATOR....Anthony Anakapu...NCD,Port Moresby..
I feel that 22 year old man here My girlfriend had a problem with her car yesterday, and if I had known more about the mechanics of her car, she wouldn't have had to endure as much stress as she had to
My dad always tried to talk me out of liking this stuff (he was afraid I’d get hurt, he meant well) but now I feel the need to learn it. Just started your videos and they are excellent.
Excellent videos. I hope you mention about the advantage and disadvantage of direct fuel injection to the intake valves, injector nozzles/sleeves vs. intake port injection.
Hello! very impressive video! but I have a question. If the whistle was used to make sure both valves were closed. How does it whistle if it turns out the exhaust valve was stuck open the whole time?
Cool old school fundamental way. Much easier to follow. Do you still shoot videos nowadays? I often watch diagnostic Dan videos. He is very good. But not as comprehensive and logical as yours. Also he uses expensive tools a lot. I hope you can cover those oscilloscope stuff using your way of teaching. Thanks!
0:10 I was in a different tab and all of a sudden this video decided to play. I literally thought my laptop was having a heart attack or something else dangerous and life-threatening
I am gonna 40 years old this month, and always had an interest in cars. I never realized it until recently that i wanted to work on them. I am considering going to college to learn more and possibly become a mechanic. I never came from a family of mechanics. Any advice for a rookie?
At 40! Good on you mate that’s fantastic. Changing careers is very hard to do especially when you are already established, with family, responsibilities etc.
I woke up near the end of this video. Was that car with the stuck exhaust valve property of the school automotive program? The valve probably rusted stuck open from sitting so long in a humid environment.
Thank you so much even 10 years later your still helping people. I really liked the bloopers aha
You're*
Isn't this amazing? Theory -> examples -> practice? That's absolutely amazing. Thank you so much

Thank you Dan for much effort and clarity in your vids

This is really awesome. I know very little about working on cars and I want to start getting into it. Love the bloopers at the end too!
Easy to follow/understand the instructor, I never subscribe to anything but I feel like I can actually learn! Wish I lived in Philly.
By far the best, most informative and entertaining video I've ever seen

Nice video , but please explain how the TDC whistle works if the number 2 exhaust is stuck open (so no compression) ? Thanks
+pwfcpwfc It can't whistle as loud... but its faint.. very faint. Added bonus, light whistle = you already found the dead hole.

How to fix what causes low oil pressure in a 5.7 Z 71,97.
Throw the borescope in there instead of the oil.
I woke up near the end of this video. Was that car with the stuck exhaust valve property of the school automotive program? The valve probably rusted stuck open from sitting so long in a humid environment.
