Yeah. R.P. Is falling out of favour with most people, causing it to mostly be associated with well-to-do people (commonly known as posh twats). He's also a very talented driver. So talented, he could have done it professionally had he wanted to, if he had the opportunity growing up. Given how successful his career has been though, I doubt he has any regrets lmao
But only sessions 2-4, especially 3. Session 1 has a very different style and isn't that great. I wouldn't even recommend anyone watch it, at least not first.
+moismyname but the Spanish Infanta episode was brilliant! Jim Broadbent and Miriam Margolyes absolutely made it. "Your nose is smaller than *I* expected!"
moismyname But without the first series, there would of been no second, third or fourth series and how can you not like the first one? It had Brian Blessed in it.
It has its moments, but in session 1 Blackadder is a bungling fool surrounded by bungling fools. In later sessions he is an intelligent and generally competent person surrounded by bungling fools. That's a very different and in my opinion much more interesting and hilarious dynamic.
And yet Stephen had to butt in as thought Rowan was explaining it purely for his benefit. Rowan was graceful throughout in providing context for the things he was talking about, in an open way, not a condescending way, yet Stephen made out like he was being pretentious.
You can always tell when Stephen is genuinely a fan of a guest when he leans in like this during their answers. You can also see how much he enjoyed this😊
And yet in his home country he's merely a comedic actor (albeit a great one), and in America, you have a man who has no degree whatsoever and is a complete ass & runs the whole country! HAHAHA

He had a whole speech in Bean:The Ultimate Disaster movie. Not a great movie I fear you can feel that it was being made by americans all over it but he was good in it.

A world without that kind of genius is a world I don't wish to live in. I don't think Rowan realizes how much we adore his genius and sheer comedic talent and the impact he's had on people.

Yeah. R.P. Is falling out of favour with most people, causing it to mostly be associated with well-to-do people (commonly known as posh twats).
Back when Rowan was growing up, it was an accent a lot of people would learn to get into anything that required the use of your voice. This is why many successful actors of Rowan's generation speak similarly, regardless of where they come from. It wasn't a necessity for acting, but it helped a lot.
Lol his sound like a professor

He's a high-brow comedian doing low-brow humor. That's what makes him so good.
You would be surprized at how many British comedians have achieved high university academic qualifications. I think that is why their game shows etc are so much more entertaining. Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie for example.

5:00 here's the language we all know and love
Today I learned from Mr. Bean that SITCOM is Situational Comedy...I was today years old...
And yet Stephen had to butt in as thought Rowan was explaining it purely for his benefit. Rowan was graceful throughout in providing context for the things he was talking about, in an open way, not a condescending way, yet Stephen made out like he was being pretentious.
You did love him once, not without cause.
Stephen is very pompous...
Sitcom is a pretty common word
Same 😂😂
Atkinson is pure genius, he made me cry laughing for 3 minutes 🥲
You can always tell when Stephen is genuinely a fan of a guest when he leans in like this during their answers.
You can also see how much he enjoyed this😊
I didn't know that SITCOM means Situation Comedy
Thank you, Sir Rowan Atkinson!
It's 'situational' I believe.
I thought it was called sitcom because you can watch usually while sitting in front of your tv and the content's comedy.
I'm stupid
@@reveredokay my English teacher thought the same thing
Seeing Rowan entering the studio, you know he has a class
Fun fact: Rowan Atkinson has a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering in Oxford University. GENIUS level!
And yet in his home country he's merely a comedic actor (albeit a great one), and in America, you have a man who has no degree whatsoever and is a complete ass & runs the whole country! HAHAHA
it's okay to stop because we classics already know it and it started to feel like a buzz in our ear.
Bob his side kick in this movie "Johnny English" has a PhD in quantum physics from Cambridge university.

As an undergraduate, he participated in theatre with Rachel Weisz, and also dated her. He remained at Cambridge to read for a PhD in solid state physics, with his thesis titled Novel quantum effects in low-temperature quasi-zero-dimensionalmesoscopic electron systems.

Rowan has something lots of Americans will never even come close to having,

I would say the British accent is commonly associated with being classy because the English are USUALLY and GENERALLY more classy than MOST Americans as a whole, when it comes to comparing cultures

Seriously, physical comedy is way harder to pull off than textual or sound comedy. Charlie Chaplin, Jim Carrey and naturally, Rowan MR. BEAN Atkinson are the true masters of this difficult comedic genre.
I wish there was more of it on mainstream media.
Chris Pratt showed a lot of promise in physical comedy until he became an action star.
I think Buster Keaton deserves to be in that line-up as well :-)

This really helps to explain why Rowan has been reluctant to do interviews in the past. American talk show hosts are so irritating, I wish they would stop trying to take the limelight and just let the guest speak for god's sake.

Stephen its sometimes perfectly okay that your guests are far more intelligent and far more funnier than you - just chill and let them be
Yeah definitely didn't show enough respect there
The fact is that Mr. Atkinson is way too intelligent for a late night show type of interview, he explains himself with logically and concisely statements. If Colbert didn´t interfered somehow, there would be no laughs and it wouldn´t be a late night show type of interview, more like a Oxford one. Colbert nailed it and so did Mr. Atkinson, unfortunately it was just seven minutes.
