Very nice video Beverly. I make homemade bath and body products and sell them and I use the same exact vitamin E oil that you use from Family Dollar. It is more cost effective and works just as well as the more expensive brands. A suggestion, if I may: also try sweet almond oil, coconut oil, or even carrot oil. Very healthy for the skin. Rosemary water is great for the skin so you can also try that in place of distilled water. Much success to you.
This is similar to how i make my liquid laundry soap. The old ways my grandmother taught me, but she made her own bar soap as I have been making these past few months also. Very easy for someone that wants a good liquid body soap and don't want to go through all the phases of actual liquid soap making and products you gotta get.
I read comments that "you should add a preservative", but the bar of soap and other ingredients *already have preservatives in them, so there is no need.
Beverly's Design Time Why the vegetable glycerin? Is there a substitute for it, such as coconut oil or something? I can't afford the vegetable glycerin.
It's a damn shame that most bar soap is now so much smaller than it used to be. There is so much shaved off the soap now, it is no longer square but hourglass shape. The price is still the same or higher though...can't help but notice that.
that's why alot of pple nowadays are making their own it may be a little more expensivesive but its alot more healthier and don't have all those extra harsh preservatives in them with more chemicals than needed if you make the basic natural soaps.
ya 1/2 gallon Ice cream containers are the same way, and they forgot to mention to ya that it's no longer a 1/2 gallon size container, ....it just _looks_ like one ;) until ya read the fine print on carton...it's much less now, but with 30% more polysorbate-80, Yellow Dye # 17...and a bonus!!! Now with more flavor,.... thanks to borrowing Pepsi's Aborted baby fetus cells boiled down to sum bizzare sweetner goo Patent (yes a real patent) But worry not, the price stayed the same, w/ some specialty ones only going UP in price..and what goes real swell with ice chemKream??... YES!!,! You can have cake and eat it too.....if you dare... _Zoiks!_
Omg love this and thank you for sharing. You explained it well nothing too hard. Love how all ingredients are safe ...no lye. Yay Going to make this for my body and hand washing needs.
Thank you for the video and also showing the after look of the making I’ve came across other videos and they don’t show you how the wash turned out!!!!!
Thank you for sharing I am making shower gels to go in kits for Christmas gifts. Because mine was thick I wasn't sure I did it right. I see yours is the same consistency as mine so I feel better. Thanks again.
2 questions for you. How much fragrance would you add to this? Also, would putting the bowl in the fridge help accelerate the process or would that negatively affect the final product? Thanks for the video!
Thanks for this video. I use Amish bar soap because I love the soap. My soap came out a bit runny. I'm thinking maybe I didn't do the measurements right but it works great nonetheless!
What is Amish bar soap & where do i get some? I assume you mean it is made by Amish people but i was not sure if you meant a 'specific' kind made by them- as in they use some other ingredients? I have been looking for some mild ALMOND flavored soap for a very long time.
How about dove for sensitive skin ,use also coconut oil and glycirine....i like to try too, dove soap /liquid is very expensive ,here in the phillipines, thank u i appreciate, ur kindness
OK so I made this yesterday and today I go in to blend it and the mixture was still in liquid form. I followed your directions except I didn't add the vitamin E oil or the glycerin. Can you tell me if it was the type of soap I used (Olay) or what I can do to fix it? I'll use it as hand soap if it can't be formed for bodywash. Thanks in advance! ☺
sure to make this when i'm running out of body wash. but i wonder how long this product lasts? i mean do i need to put it in the freezer or add somethin to preserve it
Hi Elyse, I'm not sure because I've never added Salicylic acid but give it a try but try only a little to see what that results are. As for the grape seed oil I think it will be fine 😊
@@BeverlysStunningCreationsI just made my first batch today. 16 cups of distilled water, 1 cup grape seed oil, 1/4 glycerin and 2 tbsp of salicylic acid. It foams up nicely. Has a good slip. We shall see 😂.
Hello, I'm new here. I found you while looking for a recipe on how to make body wash from bar soap, your video popped up. So here I am with a question. Can I use coconut oil instead of vitamin E oil to finish the recipe?
Hi ***** I'm very happy to hear that!! I love making my own products. I agree with your statement. I'm really getting deeper into making my own products. I'm now making my own bars soaps and I'll be using them to make my body washes, laundry detergent and along with other products :)
@@BeverlysStunningCreations If you can make your own bars of soap you can make a really good profit, I've been doing it for a while now and i've noticed my skin is in such way better condition than store bought soaps and I know what is in them and my skin is not to dry or to oily any more. The big thing is my kids with store bought soap i would spend so much money on trying to find something that would help one child but wouldn't affect the other one in a different way. So it's been a blessing to me to learn all the processes of making my own, (Thanks to my Lovely Grandma who isn't here with me anymore & some internet help time to time when I'm unsure of something with ingredients).. but now I got friends and family wanting to buy it but im not really into that just yet, but i'd like to eventually. On the other hand I think you would love it if you made your own as well. Its fun sometimes hectic but it ends up being fun in the experience and you'll learn as you go.
It's from a UA-camr named Rob Dyke's channel, there's a video about a serial killer named Leonarda who made her victim's bodies into soap after she killed them. She'd then give it out to people around the neighborhood and use it herself.
Grace Buenaventura Hi, sorry about the late reply, I have had a lot going on lately. No, you don't actually have to wait 24 hours. At least try to wait 12 hours to give the formula a chance to gel. Thanks for watching :)
+Aisyah Syifaurrahmah I'm actually still using this batch of soap. Which was made 9 months ago. I keep it sealed tight and in my bathroom closet where it's cool and dark. If I have any left after December i'll just throw it out and make a new batch. But this has saved me loads of money already. Thanks for watching :)
You are the one that will decide if you like the texture. All the soaps have textures that someone loves and someone doesn't like. How much essential oil will be how strong of a scent you want.
It's best to use distilled water. It's sold at grocery store, Walmart, Drug stores pretty much everywhere in USA. You can also distill some yourself there's UA-cam videos that'll show you how.
Girl thank you very easy my next project, check this off my to buy list now that I can make my own I'm trying to make it all I got my own garden going made my own Landry washing powder, good looking out.

Why the vegetable glycerin?
Is there a substitute for it, such as coconut oil or something? I can't afford the vegetable glycerin.
I love noodles i used mineral oil. Its like $1.88 at walmart
babeshawty
Thanks!
shouldn't have to
Blending it while it's hot prevents it from gelling up. Soaps with moisturizer don't need Glycerin, but Vitamin E is great idea but optional. YW
I tried this and it worked wonderfully. I thought I missed something because mine took longer than 24 hours to solidify.
It's a damn shame that most bar soap is now so much smaller than it used to be. There is so much shaved off the soap now, it is no longer square but hourglass shape. The price is still the same or higher though...can't help but notice that.

What does the glycerin do for the soap? Some people use olive oil or fresh lemons juice.. is that for the scent and moisture?

I think it acts like a binder or maybe a thickener.
