Must Watch Now! 2-Ingredient Body Wash Recipe!

  • Today I'm sharing the easiest body wash recipe ever! This body wash is thick, luxurious, & amazing! Plus, it gets your loofah sudsy & full of bubbles with just a tiny bit. All you need is grated soap & water!
    RECIPE: 3 ounces grated soap (85 milliliters/grams) [21.5%] + 300 milliliters water [73%]
    (recommended) +2 milliliters preservative [.5%] + 20 milliliters fragrance oil [5%].
    Grate the soap as fine as possible; 3 ounces total. Mix soap with 300 milliliters water. Boil the soap about 2 minutes to make sure it's completely dissolved. Don't worry about water evaporation at this point. Just get the soap dissolved. Later, you can add as much water as you want to thin the body wash out! ** I prefer a thicker body wash, so I only added a bit of additional water to the recipe. Cool mixture below 100 degrees Fahrenheit (37 degrees Celsius) to add optional ingredients. ** I recommend waiting at least 8-12 hours to check the final thickness of the body wash. It will thicken over time.
    I used optiphen ONLY because I couldn’t find germall (in the sea of products in my tiny cabinet), but Germall is recommended. *** Add preservative AFTER the body wash is the perfect consistency. The more water you add, the more preservative the body wash will need. I also added 20 ml fragrance. This may seem like a lot of fragrance but the scent added equals to 5% total.
    When pouring it in the bottles, you may need to heat it up a bit in order to get it into a more fluid state. Once in the bottle it will thicken again. If you're planning on doing layers, I highly recommend doing a test run first to make sure you like the color pattern. To get soft layers instead of hard straight layer lines, fill the bottle then pour a little bit out on an angle. Turn the bottle as you're pouring. Do this until you're satisfied then pour the mix back in.
    **NOTE: I gave a bottle to my friend & she said it was great but there was NO lather when she put it on her hands. I tried it like she did (without a loofah) & there was very little lather. So, I recommend adding .5 ounces of SLSa (melt it down with soap) OR just use a loofah every time in order to make lather/suds!**
    Use high-quality fragrance oils that smell strong, amazing, last long a long time. MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE right now is Magnolia Blush! It smells Ah-mazing!!! Find them here: Naturesoil.com?ref=doralincoln
    The other scent that is highly recommended is Avobath. This is a citrus-based scent that smells wonderful! Find it here: www.theflamingcandle.com/sear...

    Thank you so much, Dora! With inflation taking over the household budget, I'm looking to make more things myself, to save money. Body wash, among other things, has become so expensive. This looks simple, fun, and could be a huge money saver for my household. Really great idea! Just finished grading up some soap, and am excited to get started.

    I got so excited when I saw this video, it looks so thick and luxurious. I am a cold process soap maker and seller, and i thought it might be a way of using up off cuts, and beveling shavings etc. I have just tried it with a Santa soap that didn't sell, and it looked lovely when they mixed (it was a red and white soap) it made such a pretty pink, but alas, it hasn't got thick at all, it has stayed a really thin mixture, so it doesn't look like it will work with my recipe. Oh well a bit of a shame but keep up your amazing videos, you are such an inspiration to me, and do some very inventive products.

      Helen!!! I haven’t heard from you in a while. Glad to hear from u! You can still save it! Add a bit of crothix… or try adding more soap & less water! My point here is that u can DEFINITELY save it!!!

    • @handcraftedbyhelen1963
      @handcraftedbyhelen1963 2 роки тому +1

      Thanks for replying Dora, I have been quietly watching all your videos and taking it all in. I wondered if I could just add more soap, or use a thickener, we cant get crothix here, but wondered about xanthum gum. I will give it a go, the other thing I am going to try is using it in a foaming pump bottle (have to get one) and see if it worked in one of those. I will keep trying 💜💙💚

    • @CreativeBathLab
      @CreativeBathLab  2 роки тому

      @@handcraftedbyhelen1963 you have the right attitude for sure! Yes! 1. Try adding more soap. If it doesn’t work 2. Try a thickener- any thickener. Doesn’t have to be crothix. Believe me, it can be saved! The first 3-4 batches I tried with dove Olay & caress didn’t thicken at all. Then I added more soap & voila, worked like a charm!

      @@x1dlI know this is long overdue but yea I did end up trying and failed. But after research on the bars she got the best results from I found the reason is because they are not actual soap, they’re beauty bars. So they’re made of surfactants rather than being actual soap made using lye and oils.so being that it was made of surfactants mainly is why it was able to come out a body wash like that.

    So, just as Handcrafted by Helen had issues, I have had the same. For one- my water/shaved soap wouldn't come to a boil at all. It just stuck to the bottom of the pan and burnt. Now it seems to be a mess. I transferred it to another pan (tried to pull out as much of the "burn" as I could) and added more water- Still no boil just wanted to burn. So I finally took it off heat and now trying to figure out what to do or how to save it

    • @Helenjojoful
      @Helenjojoful Рік тому

      The author of the video most likely is using a syndet type of soap which is not technically a soap. It's a combination of surfactants, thickeners, preservative etc. Traditional soap does not need a preservative because the pH is so high.
      Either way you'd be better of without making this recipe because there are so many potential issues that I don't even know where to start.

    Thank you much for this video. What happens if dyes is not added to the soap? Will the soap change color?

    So you still need a preservative correct? Even though the Melt and Pour soap base or Dove bar soap has a preservative within those two products already? The colors are so cute!

    Hello! Can you use essential oil? I’m assuming it would be much less than the 20 ml of fragrance oil but what do you think? Thx!
