I have watched this video about 5 times over the past month and today I finally made this recipe today. I have been making and selling CP soap for about 6 years, this was my first attempt at liquid soap. Your video was so thorough! My adventure went smoothly and the soap is absolutely crystal clear and looks perfect! Thank you!

Lovely! I’m a fellow Brisbane soap maker and while I’ve been making bars for 8+ years, I’ve never made liquid soap. Thanks for the inspiration, such wonderfully clear instructions 💕
Oh that's brilliant! Thanks for commenting, I'm always so happy to hear from other Brissy folk. Thanks for your kind words. This is a great recipe to start with for LS making.
Elly you are so honest and thorough with whatever you are sharing with your audience. Thanks for the detailed instructions and recipe. I wish you a good day and I hope you remain as generous and authentic as you are. 🙏
Hi Ellie, I made this beautiful liquid soap recipe using extra virgin olive oil and the result was a very thick liquid soap but very effective and lathers up nicely. Thank you for your tutorials.
I’m literally doing this right now for the first time ever (like ever making soap). I can’t believe how easy and simple this is thanks to you! I’m super excited and literally over here amazed at how simple this is! 😭😭😭 Thank you soo much Elly! ❤️
I’ve been wanting to try a liquid soap, especially to use just as a gentle bubble bath for my kids! This is the least intimidating recipe/process I have seen! Def saving this one, thank you 😍
Fantastic recipe and method. Super easy to make with only 4 ingredients and cheap as well. I made a double batch which made 6 liters of liquid soap and the batch only cost around $3.00 per liter to make.
I have hope that someday I will be able to make all my own health and beauty products with my family and sell them too. This video has inspired me. Thank you so much 🙏
I followed your liquid soap video and OMG!!! It is the most beautiful liquid soap I ever made!! You are the best! I failed on making liquid soap before. Now I am confident and eager to make liquid soap again. Thank you so much Elly❤
Just made this soap. Thank you so much for this recipe. 97% humidity so mine was marginally thinner though I used extra virgin. It works so beautifully, so glad you made it available to us.
Hi Elly ; I love so much this 100% Olive oil and today I make it again . all my families love it so much they use it everyday from top to toe. Again thank you sooo much for this recipe . We love it
I’m almost ready. I’ve watched loads of your videos, some multiple times. Read a couple of books. Almost done collecting supplies. Safety first. This will be the first soap recipe that I make. My plan is to first make soaps for cleaning. I’m attempting to replace Dr. Bronners with this soap. Next, I will make your cleaning bar soap recipe. From there I will make the washing powder to replace Tide pods. My end goal is to make all the soaps my family needs with an eye on economics. I’d like to calculate the costs and potential savings of handmade soaps. Still getting used to the idea of one soap for multiple uses. I wasn’t raised that way. 😊 I purchased the soap shaker. Should come in handy. TY so much for all you do. ❤
@joydavis4087 How did you go?? I'm where you were when you commented, watching and reading AAALLL the things... although I'm still gathering supplies (low income, trying to source through op shops). I'm wondering if you had any hiccups, or has it been as easy as it looks? (when Elly does it 😅)
OMG Elly, I'm catching up but you are definitely closer to converting me to making soap one of these days. You've turned me back from using pump bottle detergent soaps to bars I buy from my local Co-op, or at a pinch the health food shop. My hands survive firewood and firemaking, gardening and strange fixings at my elderly mother's place far better using bar soaps - my skin is not dry at all any more. I also scrape my nails on bar soap when I'm gardening so my hands are super easy to clean. This castile soap looks wonderful and might be a good soap to start with (after going to Mitre 10 or Bunnings and getting the safety gear, after watching the safety video. Again). I'll see, as in I really want to, but my time is very bound up with my elderly mother these days. I'm so glad I decided to check on your channel - UA-cam is terrible at giving appropriate alerts. As always, just watching you do anything is so zen you need to be bottled! ☺️
I make liquid soap 13 years ago and it was almost painful to make. Since that experience I’ve only made bar soap. Your tutorial has given me courage to try once more. There are so many toxins in our hygiene products it’s downright criminal! So many of my soap recipients say it’s the only soap that doesn’t irritate their skin. Makes me keep soaping knowing how much my soap is appreciated 😊
Love this video!! Had no idea you could make such a simple, liquid hand soap without using a load of additives, I'm definitely going to try this recipe out! Thanks for sharing ☺️
Thank you for this video! I make natural products too but I only made bar soap once! I wanted to get Castile soap but I am glad to see a more natural alternative Thank you so much!🙏🏾♥️💕
I DID IT!!!! I tried this recipe twice but used the wrong hydroxide because I didn't know there were 2 kinds, today I used the potassium hydroxide and followed your recipe to the T .....low and behold I have an amazing crock pop full of beautiful liquid castile soap!!! I love the way you explain each and every part of the recipe....THANK YOU from Barbados
Hi Elly,my first time watching and love the natural ingredients for a change, love everyone's comments ,never to old to learn so I will definately experiment.Way back I purchased a bottle of Dr Bronner'pure castile soap and it was so pricey that I hardly wanted to use it,but nothing lasts. Thanks once again,God bless and enjoy soap making all.Love.
Hi Elly, I made this liquid soap yesterday for the first time and went well. I used Cobram Estate Extra Virgin Olive Oil and it did get thickened a lot, thicker than those store bought liquid soap for sure! I scented some with combination of Lemongrass, Rosemary and Peppermint and it got thicker than Golden Syrup 😱, so I had to add more water. In a separate bottle I scented it with a fragrance oil and it didn’t get thickened farther. It’s a lovely soap 😍and I think it is a good idea to scent it before you put it in a bottle. You can enjoy few different fragrances from one batch! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and look forward to your next video!! 💕
I just made my first batch of Castile liquid soap. It will make so much soap! I do like the slow cooker HP method, this was my second HP soap. That paste is very, very thick. I enjoy your videos, thanks.
Thank you Elly for sharing your soap making experience. I really enjoy watching your videos. I learn a lot and they are also relaxing and fun. I've made cold processed soap several times by following your recipes and instructions. They are all successful. Now I am learning how to make liquid soap. And your videos are the most informative ones on UA-cam and easy to follow and understand. Thank you again.
Thank you for sharing your recipe and technique and making it so accessible. For years I’ve made only bar soap, am blown away by your awesome liquid soap video. Inspiring!🙏
Hi, Just wanted to say thank you for giving me the confidence to have a go at liquid soap making. Having made cold process many times before I was still nervous to give this a go but it really helped give me the confidence to give it a go :)
I made this the other day & thank you Elly for the tutorial.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ You are 5 Stars and so was the recipe!!! I followed every step and it turned exactly like it was on the video. Here in Mexico I think the pure olive oil is smelly so next time I would try extra extra virgin olive oil. This was really fun to make and on my life list bucket and I finally checked it off!!! Thank you again!!!🍹Laura & Ez
Thank you for your video. This is my first time making liquid soap and it was definitely easier than bar soap for me. I used all Extra Virgin Olive 🫒 oil and it’s definitely thicker than traditional Castile Soap. I like it thicker though. Thank you 🙏🏾
This is exactly what I've been looking for. A simple, pure olive soap. My skin dries up and itches with coconut oil and palm...really sensitive, reactive skin. Contact dermatitis. Olive and Argon work for me. I've been able to buy a cheap oilve soap with very few ingredients that suits my skin, but i want to make my own for more moisturising. Can't be bothered to wait weeks for an olive soap bar to cure, thugh if i make the liquid first, i could use that while bars harden, i expect. I appreciate how you stated that demineralized water can be used. It's a lot cheaper than distilled where i live. You've revived my interest in soap-making. Thank you. Much appreciated. Only seen any of your videos, today, so subbed.
Lovely to read your comment Angela, I have many videos (and a few with castile soap) so I'm sure you'd find more to inspire you here. Your skin sounds like it likes the same kinds of soap as mine does! Hope you enjoy this.
Thank you Elly! I haven't made liquid soap because I thought all liquid soap had a bunch of added chemicals in it to make it liquid. I'm thrilled to see this video 😊 plus it looks so easy! I'm going to hurry and buy potassium hydroxide and make your recipe!
I first learned how to make soaps from you, thank you so much for your easy to follow tutorials. Liquid soap seemed complicated, so I decided I’d stick bar soaps😊but recently I received 10 bottles of potassium hydroxide by mistake, and the company said I could keep it. So here I’ve turned to your expertise again, thank you so much Elly!
Good afternoon Elly and fellow you-tubers!!! I am Greek so this is a olive oil soap is a soap "after my own heart"!!!!! I wish you all a nice month April!!!
Brilliant website! Tried twice now and both times worked perfectly. The problem I'm having is after awhile the diluted soap splits and don't really know how to fix it. I last time I used the last of the castile soap to dilute it wouldn't thicken even with salt (I used so much salt the soap tasted of sea water) and then after an hour it rice. Plus the bottles I made up have also all riced too
If I could give this 1000 likes I would. Excellent description. 👏👏👏 I saw another video on how to do this and I was stressed because she would jump from one thing to another out of order and made the process seem like it took days. I was discouraged. But you gave me my courage back to try this. Thank you.
Thanks alot i made this recipe but it needed salty water to thicken.. but really thank for your video it saved me❤ i made liquid sop for the first time because of you❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks Elly for another amazing video, it is always inspiring to watch how you make soap as it makes me want to pick up my tools that has been collecting dust for some time now.
i finally made the liquid soap and it's just beautiful. it was really really thick after i did the ph test and i had worried that i messed it up. so i diluted anyway and it came out golden and beautiful. i scented with lavender essential oil and just love it. thank you so so much for your kindness and sharing this!!!
Hello from California! Thank you Elly for this recipe! I'm a cp soaper and have been wanting to try liquid soap for some time, but was intimidated. Thank you for making such an easy to understand guide. 🙏🏻 hugs!
I love your accent so much. I agree I like making bar soap more than liquid but it is so satisfying to have your own chemical free soap coming out of the pump bottle 🥰 It's true I only use extra virgin olive oil you do get a thicker soap I use it as a shampoo too leaves hair silky soft
hi elly! even if you don't use this soap for laundry, clean everything with dirty clothes, so the soap will help the cleaning and nothing will be wasted. little trick. thanks for sharing!
So helpful, I love your videos and I’m happy to see you online with this recipe. I’ve never seen liquid soap made without additional ingredients. Thank you!
Couple points: 1) very good and concise tutorial. 2) if you’re really concerned about “real” olive oil soap, you need to make sure your using “certified” olive oil, as most olive oils that are “affordable” are usually adulterated with other oils (and very often with old/rancid olive oils).
Thank you Elly.. i think i will try this .. you sure make it look so easy. And love your soothing voice throughout the video❤ you should consider doing voiceover for commercial purposes.. it would surely be a hit! love this❤❤❤❤
This looks so good Elly; a gentle video for a gentle soap. Have not yet made a liquid soap but after watching this I really want to. Will have to purchase some potassium hydroxide and glycerine, neither of which I have. Thanks for this lovely informative demonstration. PS I am super happy with your coffee soap recipe. (sure smells like coffee too). Has such a creamy lather like your lather test. Tomorrow I am making it again and using essential oils instead of the coffee.. Warmest regards 🐾🦋
Thank you Marion, I'm really glad you liked this and it has inspired you! Great news about the coffee soap - I love that soap! I think it's still my favourite :)

Hi Elly, Loved this video and of course can't wait to try it. I read the recipe and instructions and so appreciate how thorough you are always! I started years ago with your lavender video and your guidance is always so GOOD! Thank you so much! xoxoLinda
Hat's off to your content ma'am, really appreciate you giving the advice and the methods of preparing natural soaps in the era of soaps full of chemicals which contain some chemicals that may even damage your skin, although I had a little question, what is the shelf life of this liquid soap like for how ling is it effective and can we increase it's lifespan by adding some other resources or chemicals into it? Like can we add citric acid to it?
Definitely giving this a go today! I've been experimenting with liquid soap lately and it's so interesting how different oils can change the consistency etc.. I love this video - thank you Elly 👍👏👏👏👏
@@EllysEverydaySoapMaking hi Elly! Just to say that I tried an olive/Castor/Sunflower oil combo. After 30mins of blending and stirring it was still like sloppy thin custard. I thought it was headed for the bin but left it on low in the Crockpot and went away to do something else. Half an hour later I went back to it expecting sloppy custard and got paste!!! So, either by adding sunflower oil it must take forever to firm up or my Crockpot can do VooDoo magic? 🤷🤣
Ah that's great to hear! I've never used sunflower but I imagine it's slow to saponify. Using less water in your paste recipe would speed it up, also replacing some of the water with glycerine would zoom it along! Your crock pot does have special powers I think! I always say 'heat and agitation' are the KEYS to getting LS to come together. If you use both of those, it will eventually gel and cook :)
I really love your channel and thank you for this recipe and video. I've been using Castile soap as a base for my face wash recipe and now feel like this has changed the game because I buy Castile soap on bulk and as a soap maker I've always been fearful of making liquid soap. Not anymore. Thank you so much Elly. Can you make a foaming oats liquid soap or coco glucoside. 💁🏽♀️ I mean they could be just as easy Thanks Again and blessings to you!
I did a cost breakdown for the near 3L finished product and for my area it works out to be a total of $8.40 and to purchase 3L of Dr Bonner's on sale is $62.97. I am ordering the essential KOH and more glycerin and will be making soap from now on! Thank you so much!!!

I'll reply to as many as I can over the next week or so :)
Hi Elly I really love your laundry soap and wanted to make a liquid version of it.. would you be able to help.. can I substitute olive oil for other combinations.. or does the KOH amount change too.. love your channel and soaps 🧼
I made some of your first recipe of liquid soap and added Shea butter to it....results are: I have a layer of white that doesn't ever incorporate into the soap but the soap is so much better...it doesn't lather as much with the shea butter in it but my hands love it. also the amount of soap gel I ended up with was so much less than the recipe should have done....not sure about that but I don't care. I love the soap.
Great video! I have watched it several times and I have cooked up a batch. It is my first attempt ever at soap, so I have been careful. However, I have used half extra virgin and half regular olive oil which may have been a mistake…. I am waiting for it to get to the Vaseline stage…. I am cooking it longer hoping it will change! Having fun if not quite getting there.
People in this comment section get excited easily. This is a great chemistry lesson by all and fantastic video by Elly. If AMOC collapses and we have to go rustic, at least we can be clean. To prevent the AMOC collapse we should be processing our own soap and not buying plastic bottles of it (with the energy required to produce/ship, etc). Hmmm maybe I should make soap, then selling it in glass jars that I refill for people.🤔🤔😊
Thank you so much, I really enjoyed watching you make castile soap. I am definately going to make a batch for myself. Really trying hard to get away from store purchased products & foods. Thank you again.
This is great! I’m contemplating building a skoolie, and was concerned about what organic soaps to use, so as not to destroy the ecology. This is awesome!
Hi Elly, am glad to see you back. is just come in time, yesterday I did your liquid soap recipe and my daughter ask why is not 100% olive oil. and here it is now. I just made bars of soap( olive, pine tar and sulfur) this weekend. Wasn't interested in making a liquid soap but you've changed my mine. I would like to learn how to make hair shampoo bars.
Thanks for the tutorial. Yeah olive oil is usually olive oil with a bunch of industrial byproduct oils like corn/soy/cotton ecetera. Ima get some 100% and the other ingredients and try this.
Hello from atlanta ga 🤗🤗🤗 It has been a long time since I first thought about soap making. Now your tutorial has me curious about making some . The process and your detailed step by step instructions seem easy to follow and not as time consuming as once it used to be. Great that it’s made in a crock pot…..who doesn’t have one in their kitchen 😊 I did go to your blog and read some ………this i believe I would enjoy trying…….definitely adding some fragrance too. Happy to be a new subscriber and looking forward to following along with you!

Do the amount of lye used differ depending on what oil? Like, what if I want to make soap using coconut oil?
@@nunyabiznes33 each oil has an own sapification number. You can calculate the amount of lye by yourself or use a lye calculator.

Wonderful! Thanks for commenting Takako :)
That's wonderful to hear, thank you! Ps. I love your cat.
That's wonderful! Thank you :)
You are so welcome!
I finally got myself some potassium hydroxide and I'm trying your castile recipe tonight!! happy soaper time!! Wish me luck and thanks Elly xx
Exciting!! Have fun :)
Pleasant talking and the personality , clear and true live demonstration without any hesitations and intentions..
Appreciated..
Good afternoon Elly and fellow you-tubers!!! I am Greek so this is a olive oil soap is a soap "after my own heart"!!!!! I wish you all a nice month April!!!
Yay Despina! I bet this would make the most AMAZING LS with your beautiful local olive oil. Might be nice and thick!
Hello despina... Can you trained me. I live in athens and i Want to learn a lot about soap making so that i can have my own business
Thank you.
Wonderful! Thank you :)
@@EllysEverydaySoapMakingHi again. I just wanted to ask is it ok to double this recipe? I couldn't find a 3 qt pot and got a 6 qt instead.
Go for it Ruby! :)
i finally made the liquid soap and it's just beautiful. it was really really thick after i did the ph test and i had worried that i messed it up. so i diluted anyway and it came out golden and beautiful. i scented with lavender essential oil and just love it. thank you so so much for your kindness and sharing this!!!
Gorgeous!
I am wondering if the paste hasn’t saponified after the clarity test , what we should do?
Hello from California! Thank you Elly for this recipe! I'm a cp soaper and have been wanting to try liquid soap for some time, but was intimidated. Thank you for making such an easy to understand guide. 🙏🏻 hugs!
You're welcome! Glad this helped you :)
I love your accent so much. I agree I like making bar soap more than liquid but it is so satisfying to have your own chemical free soap coming out of the pump bottle 🥰 It's true I only use extra virgin olive oil you do get a thicker soap I use it as a shampoo too leaves hair silky soft
Randomly came across this video and I love how clear your explanations are. Subbed and looking forward to seeing more of your videos!
Thanks :)
hi elly!
even if you don't use this soap for laundry, clean everything with dirty clothes, so the soap will help the cleaning and nothing will be wasted. little trick.
thanks for sharing!
So helpful, I love your videos and I’m happy to see you online with this recipe. I’ve never seen liquid soap made without additional ingredients. Thank you!
Thanks Michelle, that's great! I love the simplicity of this. It's perfect.
Couple points: 1) very good and concise tutorial. 2) if you’re really concerned about “real” olive oil soap, you need to make sure your using “certified” olive oil, as most olive oils that are “affordable” are usually adulterated with other oils (and very often with old/rancid olive oils).
Thank you for the recipe Elly! You are a gem!
You're welcome Disha!

Thank you so much! xoxoLinda
Thank you Linda, that's wonderful! I appreciate that you read the recipe. I always put in as much detail as I think is needed. Thanks again.
Thank you Trisha, that's great!! I'm hoping to do more LS videos this year - will prompt me to learn more myself :)
Thanks for sharing, this is the first time I have seen soap made this way.
Hope you like it, Deana! Thank you for watching :)
💁🏽♀️ I mean they could be just as easy
Thanks Again and blessings to you!
Impressive! Well done! And I love your calm voice and together with your knowledge and expertise. Awesome!
Oh, I appreciate it. Thank you so much. :)
Your style of this liquid soap is so clear, the other ones make it look way too complicado
I have tried it and it turns amazing thank you so much for sharing ❤️
Very. Very. Super👌👌👌🌹
Thank you!
I did a cost breakdown for the near 3L finished product and for my area it works out to be a total of $8.40 and to purchase 3L of Dr Bonner's on sale is $62.97.
I am ordering the essential KOH and more glycerin and will be making soap from now on!
Thank you so much!!!
Excellent!
Hey everyone, hope you enjoy the new video! Make sure you check out the description box under the video for all the links, including the full written recipe over on my website. If you're getting into liquid soap making, you might also want to check this video out where I go through my method for calculating liquid soap recipes ua-cam.com/video/dBPmh4UpoHk/v-deo.html and this is another simple LS recipe worth trying as well ua-cam.com/video/_WPIMsLk1P8/v-deo.html Thanks for your awesome support and comments - I'm loving them! I'll reply to as many as I can over the next week or so :)
Oh wonderful Elly' , I saw recipe link , but for now I don't have enough money to buy the equipment and the ingredients as well, I really appreciate.
Hi Elly I really love your laundry soap and wanted to make a liquid version of it.. would you be able to help.. can I substitute olive oil for other combinations.. or does the KOH amount change too.. love your channel and soaps 🧼
100% olive oil recipe!
Can not find a link to a cp version. Xx
I've never made soap before but have wanted to badly but was intimidated. This is so thorough and easy to understand so it will be my first.
I’m excited for you, wishing you good luck and have fun!
That was so enjoyable to watch. I can’t wait to start making my own soap again. Thanks for the instructions.
You're welcome :)
Lovely clear, concise instructional video. Thank you! Will try making this instead of buying it in future.
Made my first batch today, using this recipe. It turned out perfect!
Wow! That is wonderful, I'm so happy for you. Have fun! :)
Thanks so much 😊
The easiest and most practical liquide soap recipe ever watched.
Thank, madam.
Most welcome 😊
This is great! I’m contemplating building a skoolie, and was concerned about what organic soaps to use, so as not to destroy the ecology. This is awesome!
Hi Elly, am glad to see you back. is just come in time, yesterday I did your liquid soap recipe and my daughter ask why is not 100% olive oil. and here it is now. Thanks soo much , I love your voice , the way you explain, and your recipe is always really good. you are truly a teacher for many ; bless you
Perfect timing Hoeni, that's wonderful! Enjoy :)
Hi Elly one more valuable video on liquid soap. We re sure your soap is going to be great , but the way you present is amazing. It's pleasure watching your video. Thnks

Terimakasih. saya banyak melihat referensi pembuatan sabun castile.
Tapi video kakak sangat detail penjelasannya.
Dan memudahkan saya ada translite.
Semoga sehat selalu dan Terimakasih telah berbagi kakak ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much for your video, I’ve enjoyed it a lot, will try definitely to make the soap by your guide in video. Will let you know how it went 💕
I just made bars of soap( olive, pine tar and sulfur) this weekend. Wasn't interested in making a liquid soap but you've changed my mine.
I would like to learn how to make hair shampoo bars.
Very Satisfying. Thank you Mam for sharing this info with us.
Thanks so loved this video and I have been watching so many learning about soap making as a complete beginner. Thank you!
Thank you so much. That is great. Will definitely try it. The alternatives are very expensive.
Ellie eu amei esse vídeo. Muito obrigada por compartilhar. 🥰
Marcia from Michigan USA here. I love this recipe & plan to make it next month. Love your channel. Thank you I really enjoy your instruction.
Thanks so much David, great to hear from you in Michigan :)
Always have this video on when I'm making liquid soap 👍
That is great. Glad it helps, Trisha! :)
Thanks for the tutorial. Yeah olive oil is usually olive oil with a bunch of industrial byproduct oils like corn/soy/cotton ecetera. Ima get some 100% and the other ingredients and try this.
Thank you! I can't use coconut oil, so this video is greatly appreciated.
Hello from atlanta ga 🤗🤗🤗
It has been a long time since I first thought about soap making. Now your tutorial has me curious about making some . The process and your detailed step by step instructions seem easy to follow and not as time consuming as once it used to be. Great that it’s made in a crock pot…..who doesn’t have one in their kitchen 😊
I did go to your blog and read some ………this i believe I would enjoy trying…….definitely adding some fragrance too.
Happy to be a new subscriber and looking forward to following along with you!

I LOVE Dr. Bronzers Castile soap! Many varieties. But it can be expensive, so thanks for showing me how to make my own!🙏🏽❤️
You are so welcome!
Thank you Elly I’ve been making beautiful liquid soap thanks to you
Thanks sister for sharing knowledge. Your explanation is very helpful for me.
Beautiful word of advice I didn't heat up my diluting water one day and I cracked the ceramic on my crock pot pouring in cold water
