    Thanks for this great video! Does this finish hold up to harsh cleaning products such as bleach, Ajax or Comet and Magic Erasers?

    • @WhatTheFoxSherriFox
      @WhatTheFoxSherriFox  3 роки тому +1

      I probably would not do the bleach Ajax or comet…I would clean it with scrubbing bubbles I’m not sure about a magic eraser you could try it…thank you!

    What is your recommendation if some specks of the foam roller get stuck in the paint? Can I simply sand it down or do I need to do another full application?

    • @WhatTheFoxSherriFox
      @WhatTheFoxSherriFox  Рік тому +1

      It should not be coming off unless you have rolled over an area too much. If you get it in the paint and it’s still wet I would take it off with my finger and roll over it with wet paint. If it dries in it, you will have to wait until it’s completely cured sand it and paint again, it is a very tedious process any imperfections you need to fix you need to let it completely cure before fixing

      Thank you so much for the fast reply!! He used multiple rollers but it still pulled little bits out. My contractor applied it yesterday and I went in to peek today and saw the specks. We used the bathworks brand , it’s the type to mix before using. Any other suggestions before we do the next round ?

      Also I just found your video when searching for a “fix” for the problem but I’m so glad I came across it!! I appreciate you!

      @susanslone464 don’t go over the same area as much, just hit it and move on even if it doesn’t look so good you’re gonna be putting multiple coats, but this could be what’s causing the foam roller to leave small specs behind because that paint is extremely sticky, you can’t just go over and over and over the same area, don’t try to coat the entire thing with one to two coats because you need to put multiple coats on

    Hi! Just checking on an update. We put this in a house a few years ago and it was a bear to keep clean. It just felt like gunk was attracted to the coating and held well. Maybe I did something wrong or maybe the product improved. (?) Curious to know your experience with it now that it's been on a while.

    • @WhatTheFoxSherriFox
      @WhatTheFoxSherriFox  2 роки тому

      Unfortunately this was not my bathtub but as far as I know the homeowners did not have any problems with it for quite some time however the house has recently sold so I have no way of getting a true update… I have used this product before and I didn’t seem to have any problems with it for a couple of years however again the house was sold… Now I have used another product I will leave a link in this comment which is applied the same way except for it is a two-part Epoxy that you mix before painting and I can say after about three years it is holding up great … But I would like to ask, are you sure you let it cure completely before you introduced water to it? Getting it wet before it has a chance to completely cure can effect it. Did you apply several thin coats rather than thick coats? And are you sure that you removed all oils dirt and debris from your bathtub before painting it? Sanding it helps starting out anywhere from 80-120 grit and going all the way up to 400-600 grit helps tremendously. Did you happen to clean it with any abrasive cleaners (non-abrasive cleaners like scrubbing bubbles works best)… or If you just weren’t satisfied with it I would recommend trying this:

      I hope this helps, and thank you for watching I really appreciate it, keep us posted if you decide to give it another try with either product, I love hearing feedback good and bad it helps all of us!

    My foam roller fell apart and left chunks in the paint so I switched to a fabric roller and that left little fibers in the paint :(

    • @WhatTheFoxSherriFox
      @WhatTheFoxSherriFox  Рік тому

      🤔 typically the foam roller will not fall apart if you only use one foam roller per coat… you can’t use the same foam roller for the second coat and you only need to put it on very lightly, don’t soak the roller… I have never had one fall apart unless I tried to use it for multiple coats and it just doesn’t work

    I live in a 1 bedroom 1 bathroom apartment and my husband and I are moving to a bigger apartment soon, but our bathtub needs to be repainted. How long do we wait between each coat and can this tub be used for showering or anything in between coats?

    • @AlessandraLesniewski
      @AlessandraLesniewski 2 роки тому +1

      As long as it’s cleaned?

    • @WhatTheFoxSherriFox
      @WhatTheFoxSherriFox  2 роки тому +1

      You have to wait at least 3 hours before you put a second coat but you have to apply the second coat before 6 hrs… if you wait too long (more than 6 hrs) then you have to let it completely cure for a couple of days before you can apply another coat… I do not recommend using it in between coats because you cannot get it wet until it completely cures…my suggestion is to apply a coat every 3 to 3 1/2 hours until you can achieve the finished product… then allow the bathtub to dry for two or three days until it is completely cure before you get it wet I hope this helps! Thank you for watching and good luck…you got this, keep me posted on your project💞

    I have the same mistakes (black spots) like the ones that you show how to fix in the video. I just finished coat 3. Can I let it fully cure, use the shower for a few weeks, then go back with the repair as you describe? Its sanding those spots then cleaning and painting the whole tub again, right?

  • @WhatTheFoxSherriFox
    @WhatTheFoxSherriFox  3 роки тому

    For a smoother finish after the 80 grit sandpaper you can step up to 200 - 320 or even 400 -600 grit sandpaper, just a personal preference 😉

    Hi there, i did 3 coats of paint on my tub and tile. I thought it was good that night, but in the morning light I could see that I could use one more coat to be good. Q: do I need to sand again or can I wait the 48 hours and just paint again?

    • @WhatTheFoxSherriFox
      @WhatTheFoxSherriFox  2 роки тому +1

      I would wait 48 to 72 hours before I painted it again, but there is no need to sand. Just make sure it is dry

    The "common problem" is my whole tub. Guess I didn't prep right or enough? Not sure what to do other than let it dry and start again

    • @WhatTheFoxSherriFox
      @WhatTheFoxSherriFox  Рік тому

      Oh no🤦‍♀️yes you may have to, prepping is everything, have to make sure and get the surface clean and clear of oils that you can’t see
