So I’m going to answer all your questions for you all. 1. If you’re doing a tub, get 2 kits. 2. Only use brand new poly brushes 3. Wear a respirator 4. Remove faucets 5. Cleaning is the key 6. She’s right, brush stroke do disappear 7. Avoid contact with skin at all cost 8. Do not re-use brushes after each coat 9. Mask off walls and use a drop cloth 10. Absolutely DO NOT add once it’s dry 11. No more after 6 hours 12. Remove all caulk then re-caulk when finished. 13. Do not buy spray cans only use brush on 14. Make sure it’s dry before starting 15. Use alcohol to clean and microfiber when finished. She’s right about that. If you have any questions let me know. Great video!! Thanks. I’ve done this a few times and have it down pat.
This video was so helpful! I will be painting my bathroom sink today! Funny thing is that it looks exactly like yours lol. Thank you so much for this video!!
I'm waiting for that second coat so I thought I'd look at your video. Im doing a resin bathtub that I used a small roller instead of brush, and honestly the smell was not bad at all. I have a fan facing the tub, the a/c on, and a couple of windows open. I had originally used the spray from Rustoleum and it was a nightmare! Had to dust everything in the bathroom and my room. I closed the door to my room. But so far, I'm satisfied with this product.
This is awesome! I am looking at updating our house and the bathrooms are next on my list. I was wondering if you could paint a sink and after much research, i came across your video and i'm shocked. I cannot wait to do this with my sinks. Great job, thanks for all the tips!!
So how did it hold up? I see a lot of reviews saying that it doesn’t cure properly and that it stays gummy or wet even for days... did you experience this? Also has the paint peeled ?
Hi! Looks good. How did you keep the product from running into the drain? Did you have to remove the metal gasket around the drain at the bottom of the sink? Did you need a respirator? Thanks!
The paint isn't that runny, and you only use light coats. Plus, you use masking tape around the drains. Or, you can easily reach under the sink and remove the drain. That would actually net you better results. Then all you have to do is place a few pieces of tape under the bottom of the drain hole. Make sure that you clean off the bottom of the sink before you try and mask the hole. Also I'd suggest using duct tape under there to since it may have a better sticking chance... This way, even if a little bit of paint were to drip down, it won't be a huge deal. when you remove the tape from the bottom of the sink bowl, you can easily disconnect any paint that may be connected to the tape and bowl/drain. I just realized that you posted this a few months ago. I'm not sure if you've completed your task or not, but I hope this helps. You can/should also remove the faucet as well as you'll get a better outcome.
Additional Tips from the manufacturer: Use a respirator with organic filters - normal particle respirators will not work for tough as tile. Also, it says to discard of steel wool or rags that are soaked in tough as tile in a sealed water filled metal container. And it states that rags not disposed of in this way may SPONTANEOUSLY CATCH FIRE!
I bought this but didn't use it yet. can this stuff be rolled on as opposed to brushed on?? I would think a roller would result in a much smoother and nicer finish.
Hi everyone! I'm hosting a giveaway on my blog so you can win Homax Tough as Tile Refinishing Kit and do your own renovation. All you have to do is share this video or my blog post and then comment on my blog post by Feb 1, 2017: www.diyhomehealth.com/renovate-bathroom-budget-homax-product-giveaway/
Hi @jjenn33! I got the vent cover from Lowes! Have you done your project yet? I would think a roller would leave little fuzzies in the paint and may not be the best idea. As the paint 'cures' it evens out. Would love to know how your project went!
I don't understand why Homax recommends a 2" brush....? The can opening is just over 3 inches.... I'm thinking that the way to go here is get a bucket, dump the paint into it and have a go with 3..... 4" inch brushes. I would also have at hand a 1" brush for those small areas.
HORRIBLE if you are using for more than one sink or just one tub, but I did a fiberglass tub insert and it wasn't nearly enough paint. The smell is HORRIBLE and lingers forever. I am sorry I used it, not worth it.
I'm going to try it soon. Not as soon as I should but, soon. Thanks this is very informative.

How did the sink finish hold up?

A lot of tips. Thanks
Did you used a sealer after? It hold fine?
A couple years too late but I would love to know what's that paint color.... It's gorgeous!

Is this particular sink you demonstrated with a cultured marble sink?
Did you use the whole can of paint for the one sink? Was wondering how much paint to get for 3 sinks?..
Alicia, what did you use to put around the mirror? Looks like backsplash tile peel/stickers?
I bought this but didn't use it yet. can this stuff be rolled on as opposed to brushed on?? I would think a roller would result in a much smoother and nicer finish.
How long do you have to let it set before reusing the sink?
lovliesusie1 48-36 hours

A brand new vanity top that size is about $50. Painting a vanity top is insane vs just buying a new one.
So cute ☺️
also where did you get your decorative vent cover? it's really cute.

DO NOT shake the can, you will get bubbles.

👍
I watched several videos by professionals, telling to ignore instructions to use the brush and use the foam rolls.
She should have taken the faucet out before painting.
TERRIBLE PRODUCT
