Came here to say exactly this. I remember buying Miasma and Unhallowed together at Tower Records when Miasma came out. I heard some songs online and instantly fell in love. These guys helped me get into death metal when I was young. I barely got to see them for the first time a few weeks ago and while it was amazing, I wish I could have seen heard Trevor live.
I remember first seeing this demo in a box sitting in a van when these dudes first toured with parallax view. Wish I had grabbed a copy then. Never could have imagined how much these dudes would blow up from humble beginnings in basements, wired frog, mr muggs. Sick!
Didn't know this demo existed but it's bad ass!! And the clean vocals didn't bother me. They were good and it added to the song. Although I'm glad they aren't a repeated event for the band!
Elysia(demo), Far From Forgiven(Demo), A Stained Glass Romance(The Most Hated), My Bitter End (Thin Line Between Heaven and Here) are a few other albums/demos that are on UA-cam and sound pretty similar to this that you might enjoy.
Everyone on this demo had been playing in Detroit hardcore bands since the 90s, right up to forming BDM. They probably had to consciously fight the "heavy breakdown" urge while writing this.
@@81lrkr damn, did not know that. i love breakdowns but im glad they resisted the urge. do you happen to know what bands they were in and if theres anything online to listen to? would love to check it out.
my favorite concert i ever went to was at the Webster Underground in 2012 where they played. It was a tiny venue that only fit 200 people and there were at least that many people there. I remember they were all just hanging out at their merch table until they went on and they were the absolute chillest dudes in the place. I wish I could go back to that night, but the best I can do is try and relive my memory. What a (horrible) night
been a fan of these guys for a long time, thank you for uploading this, the intro the "this aint no fucking love song" sounds like it has some thrash metal influences.
The best album they’ve ever put out. I mean this completely seriously. I remember seeing them in a tiny little place called skeletons in Grand Rapids. They were really nice and let me help them with their equipment.
+SimpleJack I'm afraid they don't call you simple for nothing, Jack! That copy was nothing more than frozen liquorice! Thankfully that simple mind of yours allowed you to focus on the job at hand, promptly blowing me to heaven and back. I'm glad you have no regrets xx - Bill The Black Van Man
Been a fan since 2004 and this is possibly the first time I ever heard this. Absolutely fantastic! Slap it alongside some other old stuff on some vinyl and I bet that mf would sell out quick.
Pretty fuckin horrible sounding like everything else of its kind from that time but fuck this is cool. I didn't get in to Metalcore till around 2004 when it was starting to get a little "better" sounding. Lifeforce Records was full of this kind of stuff. Its just cool that a band as intense as BDM sounded this fuckin raw at first. Love it.
metalcore is fire you obviously don't know bout the good shit, Day of Suffering, Undying, Disembodied, Converge, Cave In, Abnegation, Shai Hulud, Arkangel, Morning Again, sooooo many good ones.
It sounded so familiar thanks for pointing that out. And if you're looking for black metal influences in TBDM I thought Every Rope A Noose was pretty black metal.
@@lotuseatr09 They're a Melodic Death Metal band but this demo had breakdowns and even clean vocals at some point. They mentioned they were inspired by Prayer for Cleansing (a Metalcore band) when they made this demo. Calm down.
Rip Trevor
My very first concert was BDM in 03-05 sometime around there. Still my favorite songs from them to this day
Rest In Peace Trevor thank you for this music 💔
Honestly one of the best metal demos of all time
First time hearing the is after being a fan for nearly 2 decades. Trevor will be forever missed and never forgotten.

RIP Big Guy! Had to come back around and show this some love. TBDM has been/always will be one of the best to ever do it. 💚
Outstanding fucking effort. Absolute heart. Heaviest shit of its time, wish bdm acknowledged its existence
heard they were hella inspired by undying and prayer for cleansing when they made this. dope.
You can definitely hear it
The title is from the old Nintendo game Castlevania.
lotuseatr09 you’ve said that like 3 times dumbass
You are absolutely correct
@@lotuseatr09 no shit.
this is metalcore just incredible
Rest in peace Trevor :(

Man, they've come a long way.
How about now 😨

clean melodic singing.
woah.
+Alex Murray if thats trevor singing clean there hes got a beautiful voice
Was probably Brian.
think the should have added some in verminous
@@AmbientSounds205 No
@@AmbientSounds205 it would have been so strange if they did

literally the only time they ever did that, thankfully
Just found this today by pure accident. Didn’t know their demo would be this badass!! 🤘🏻
This IS the best demo ever. Thank you for the upload. Had trouble finding this.
Elysia(demo), Far From Forgiven(Demo), A Stained Glass Romance(The Most Hated), My Bitter End (Thin Line Between Heaven and Here) are a few other albums/demos that are on UA-cam and sound pretty similar to this that you might enjoy.
4:20 that one time TBDM was like "hey lets try one of those breakdown things"
lmao

even the song titles scream late 90s/early 2000s
Cyberus Morphous its from Castlevania the old Nintendo game fool.
lotuseatr09 They said SONG TITLES not album title, moron lol
YES!
@@lotuseatr09 song titles you idiot.
Not the album title

Joe Kruger nah it's just a metalcore record tbh

What a shit take.
This demo is good but it is far from their best album.
Yup this and Unhallowed are my favorites hands down.
The lyrics crush me in this ep now 😢
I remember hearing this for the first time, right after unhallowed came out. It was so profound for me to see the growth.
used the title of this demo for my senior quote back in high school. rip
Man, what I'd give to own a hard copy of this bad boy. This shit rips.

So cool
I remember listing to this in school, I have now seen TBDM over 20 times. Fuck thank you for posting this!!!!

I’m high key craving new dahlia so i wound up here.
Bet you are hyped as fucked then now verminous is out haha
Yup!! And I still can’t get enough of it. Such a sick album.
Parts of these songs remind me of Undying so much......wish they would do one like this again
Sounds like a lost demo of Prayer for Cleansing
LamarcusDirk, you are a true fucking gentleman and scholar. Love tbdm and have wanted to find their demo for a while.
Straight fucking fuego, HORNS🔥\m/
We miss you Trevor.. RIP
First time I heard these guys 2003, stole the unhallowed album from the record store because the cover looked kinda cool…. Been a fan ever since.

It was best in the 90s without the melodic influence.
I have a curse called I don’t give a shit. And yes, all my best friends are bullies. That’s why we’re not friends anymore.
A dead refrain is my favourite at all
It's sad that TBDM's demo is better than 90% of the bands out there.
It's better than most of the bands from the 3rd wave metalcore movement.
Dude this band in general is better than any other metal band ever!!
it sounds like prayer for cleansing
metalcore is fire you obviously don't know bout the good shit, Day of Suffering, Undying, Disembodied, Converge, Cave In, Abnegation, Shai Hulud, Arkangel, Morning Again, sooooo many good ones.
What exactly, about that, is sad
Did "All My Best Friends Are Bullets" eventually become Carbonized In Cruciform?
I noticed a lot more Black Metal influence on this. I love it. Kinda sick.
+GarrettTheCarrot I think you're right!
It definitely sounds like it! You can hear the rhythm if you listen closely to the Carbonized in Cruciform intro.
It sounded so familiar thanks for pointing that out. And if you're looking for black metal influences in TBDM I thought Every Rope A Noose was pretty black metal.
Great song I don’t believe in curses only bad people.
hey lamarcus aren't you the dude postin dying fetus songs too? fucking a bro keep up the good work!
Ayeeeee
They should go back and Re do this ep. haha. I bet it would be some fuckin shit. If Trevor even remembers the lyrics. 🤣🤣🤣 id buy it.
tbdm is their own shit right but like this ep reminds me of the early stage of avenged sevenfold
Rene Almeida this demo was very inspired by Undying and Prayer for Cleansing, you should check those bands out if you dig this
Yah this is what metalcore sounded like in the late 90s/early 2000s
Rene Almeida no they’re melodic death metal dumb fuck

@@lotuseatr09 They switched to melo death later, but this demo is metalcore. Even Trevor said it in an interview.
Its strange to hear them doing metalcore, but somehow it fits. It reminds me of old Avenged Sevenfold a lot.
Yep was released at the same time as the seventh trumpet album
I can hear the avenged sevenfold influence now
the best record they ever made imo
Lol are you serious
No. This is generic. Everblack was their best imho
+Ocean Gateways Deflorate would be mine, followed by Everblack and Nocturnal

And it’s exactly the same age
wow have they ever evolved
Quite a lot
best thing they put out
If Hatebreed decided to play melodic death metal this is what it would sound like.
not with HB's shitty vocals
