This is the og record without all the digital touch ups Idk if trustkill was behind that glam digi shit or what the deal was But this was probably the rawest sound of its time Honestly it dies today is historically HARD
i was lucky to be 17 living in NJ in 2002. amazing hardcore scene back then. friends had bands. got to see some of the greatest bands of all time imo. chilled with ETID a few times and Keith hugged me on stage once which was one of my greatest moments not gonna lie lol
My brother has it in cd form he traded a slipknot album for it I think or was it a trivium album idr it was so long ago it even has all the lyrics in it wich when I was 13 was really neat to me
This EP is still massive in its sound. Most of the so-called “melodeath metalcore” at the time sounded super weak to me. This on the other hand retained supreme brutality!
It Dies Today Man !!! I went into flashbacks of really good times , we open one of their first shows out of mainland USA in Puerto Rico 20 yrs ago , i don't remember seing them with eyeliners and shit lol , i guess they went another way after that time , anyways im here because this material is not on spotify , and i wanted to jam with heavy stuff , these people were ahead of it's time just like bands like Falling cycle sinai beach, bleeding though and more !! Now seing the comments, is a shame man .... Thank you for uploading it to YT !!
This band was really literally right between that gap of metalcore being hardcore bands with metal riffs to becoming mall style scene kid stuff. they fit so well in that transitioning period so you get a bit of both out of both flavors from this EP and their debut album
I show a lot of my friends this band and their blown away with how heavy this was they have this perception that the 2000s didnt have breakdowns that go this hard lol
Like what the other comment said referring to Killswitch Engage, that's exactly how I viewed AoJB. It was a mix between hardcore and metalcore. You can say the same with the record 'The Fiction We Live' by From Autumn To Ashes. From albums I've listened to between 2001 to 2005, I see a lot of that.
@@RonnieRawdawg kinda funny, seeing as though the term "metalcore" wasn't coined until the early 90's by dwid hellion of Integrity. Before that, it was still hardcore. how about you try not throwing stones in a glass house, because you don't know what you're talking about either, genius.
1. Sentiments of You 2. Bridges Left Burning 3. The Requiem for Broken Hearts 4. Forever Scorned 5. Blood Stained Bed Sheet Burden 6. A Romance by the Wings of Icarus
Early It Dies Today kinda blew past me as I got really into powerviolence, but now that my tastes have gotten less abrasive, I really fuck with how they measure brutality against melody. It's a really delicate balancing act and I don't think enough people really appreciate how well this album threads that needle. They make it sound nigh on effortless.
someone knows more of this bands or albums that have super melodic riffs all the time, and sometimes some clean chorus? melodic riffs all day and clean chorus is everthing for me, this is bc "The Chaitiff Choir" and Forever In Terror's "Restless In The Tides" are my favourite albuns for so long😭😭😭
@@Stabsnipers IT Dies today wasn't always like that. I had seen them live prior to The Caitiff Choir and they weren't rocking the eye liner and black clothes.
I would have to disagree their lyrics are actually a lot more nuanced then a lot of the metalcore bands I dont know who wrote their lyrics but they are really well crafted and often refer to mythology and what seems to be a lot of really cool ideas in the pacing
@@M_reapr I agree, I think they stand out from most metalcore bands, I was just implying that most of their songs are about heartbreak which was pretty typical for the time.
This album is really fucking good but I was really young at the time and idk what it was but sirens hooks always stuck with me and chaitiff choir wasnt my favorite but my promise and defeatism were my favorite over all songs they wrote
Man i keep going back to this era of hardcore
Same dude
*Metalcore
@992turbos and metalcore
@@corrupted_realm I liked the hardcore comment I’m not a dick ok. Lol
This is so much better than the 're recorded' version...jesus christ.
yeah forreal it sucks that they took this version down
I went back to listen on spotify and that's all they had. Severely disappointed. UA-cam FTW
This is the og record without all the digital touch ups
Idk if trustkill was behind that glam digi shit or what the deal was
But this was probably the rawest sound of its time

one of the meanest, dopest metal core albums ever.

Hell yeah the jersey scene was awesome I'm from South Jersey and hung out with behind the sun all the time
Class of 04’
The switch up in the breakdown at 12:32 goes so hard it makes me want to throw a chair out my window
I'm really pissed this isn't on Spotify, this whole EP is dope as fuck
fr
It was on Spotify but they took it down. :( It’s their best release too! For me anyway!
The 2005 version is on Spotify now! I like the original snare better but the recording is really powerful as a whole.
nothin compared to the original unfortunately
My brother has it in cd form he traded a slipknot album for it I think or was it a trivium album idr it was so long ago it even has all the lyrics in it wich when I was 13 was really neat to me
Need THIS version back on Spotify
This EP is still massive in its sound. Most of the so-called “melodeath metalcore” at the time sounded super weak to me. This on the other hand retained supreme brutality!
It’s Brutiful

I went to the cd release show for this in Buffalo. This is ancient 🤣
Me too

they fit so well in that transitioning period so you get a bit of both out of both flavors from this EP and their debut album
forreal what a remarkable era
Kind of reminds me of old Killswitch Engage. Their First Self Titled - Alive Or Just Breathing. A mix of Hardcore/Metalcore.
I show a lot of my friends this band and their blown away with how heavy this was they have this perception that the 2000s didnt have breakdowns that go this hard lol

Early days of metalcore. Love it.
uh metalcore has been around since the late 80s great job not knowing what youre talking about

@@AlexPlaysGaming "seeing as though the term "metalcore" wasn't coined until the early 90's by dwid hellion of Integrity" WRONG
stop being nerds
Early? 😂 Metalcore was old news at this point.
I dont like the re recorded slowed down version nearly as much as this. Thank you for uploading this, it's no longer on spotify.
One of the best!
Thanks so much for uploading this
1. Sentiments of You
2. Bridges Left Burning
3. The Requiem for Broken Hearts
4. Forever Scorned
5. Blood Stained Bed Sheet Burden
6. A Romance by the Wings of Icarus
Makes me feel young
Has a good bit of that early myspace deathcore sound. They experimented with a bunch of different styles. Pretty neat.
I still have this cd surprised it wasn’t worn out
The original press? Goddamn, I don't even wanna know what those are going for now
@@xXIronDethXxsurprisingly cheap
This album fucks too hard. Same with Caitiff Choir. IDT are the very best.
I am forever scorned
Remember sporting this shit when I used to sing in Fall From Heaven.
*cursive font core type shit* lost it :DDD
Thank you for this.

here because it somehow got taken down from spotify
yeah forreal idk what that’s all about
They replaced it with a shittier re-recorded version, overproduced and no longer raw
fuck fftl did something similar and i haven’t listened to dear diary since
@@aaronkixxx yup, won't listen to that crap either

It doesn’t get better
One of the heaviest bands ever. So fucking mean
Remember they were booed hard down here in Mexico City for their looks, they opened the show for Devildriver back in 05
lol the cursive font type caveat makes me think of the august burns red cd i had
Classic "my girfriend broke up with me" - insert breakdown - Core
yeah but... it was right for the time

Nick was like 17 upon the release of this record.
The re-recording on Spotify isn’t nearly as good. They need to put this up.
