    I never trained in Bujinkan, I read Sensei Books & in some events in my life They helped me. He Helped me without I know Him .... While some other people That I knew Just Abused me. I owe Sensei, I wish I could see him Or train In Bujinkan.

    "Modern Togakure-ryu and various historical claims are taught by Masaaki Hatsumi (Takamatsu's successor) and the Bujinkan organization. Criticism regarding the historical accuracy of the Bujinkan's claims of lineage have arisen from several issues of the Bugei Ryūha Daijiten:
    The 1978 version of the Bugei Ryūha Daijiten states that Takamatsu's Togakure-ryu "genealogy includes embellishments by referring to data and kuden about persons whose existence is based on written materials and traditions in order to appear older than it actually is."[38]
    The 1969 version of the Bugei Ryūha Daijiten states that Takamatsu's Togakure-ryu "is a genealogy newly put together by Takamatsu Toshitsugu, who made use of (took advantage of) the popularity of written materials on ninjutsu after the Taishō era" and that "there are many points where it has added embellishments, it has made people whose real existence is based on written records older than is actually the case, and so it is a product of very considerable labor".[39]
    The 1963 version of the Bugei Ryūha Daijiten states of Takamatsu's Togakure-ryu "this genealogy refers to various written records and oral transmissions and there are many points/places where embellishments have been added and people appearing in the genealogy are also made older than they actually are".[40]Modern Togakure-ryu and various historical claims are taught by Masaaki Hatsumi (Takamatsu's successor) and the Bujinkan organization. So Takamatsu Sensei modified..or made use of..ryuha..from a time in the past...or, for anyone that doesn't understand traditional martial arts....he made a style, or styles...based on battle tested martial arts..that came from his grandfather........and you all still care sooo much..that there is "lineage" discrepancies to it...timelines and "legitimacy" history crap that you still hold onto...yet how far has Karate changed from what it was..to what it is now? Point fighting kumite that has no basis in reality..all on judges decisions.. the bottom line is that the martial arts only survive because they become modified over time. If you can't see the beauty of it...then it isn't for you. Move on and leave it to the ones that appreciate it.

    • @JusUltimate

      @@chunkymunky_mofo8006 The entire point of training in the Ninjutsu-related Ryuha is that it is supposed to be tied to their time period and their ways. If it is not historical like they claim then why bother investing money in doing it? Furthermore, if they admitted it is not a historical school then it would be fine and wouldn't be a big deal but they claim it is an "unbroken lineage" without providing any proof or evidence. My issue is everyone within the Bujinkan system loves to talk about historical legitimacy until it's time to prove it. Then they hit you with the same excuses that "The history doesn't matter because it's an oral tradition" and "they just want to train". Man, miss me with the bullshit.

    "Dr. Friday: These are just 3 out of 9. Problem is that if he is the 34th soke it means logically that there where 33 more sokes before him. If this school were a modern one it means they'd have to switch every almost three years which didn't happen.
    That might be persuasive logic if there were any documentation to substantiate Hatsumi's claim to 33 predecessors. But there is none--as I noted earlier, no document for the Togakure-ryu that predates the Meiji period (or rather, none that survived the scrutiny of independent experts). Moreover, the genealogies claimed by Hatsumi (and by his teacher Takamatsu To*****ugu) are highly suspect.
    The Katori-Shinto-ryu and the Kashima-Shinryu, two of the oldest classical bugei schools in Japan, are currently in their 20th and 19th generations. The Owari branch of the Yagyu Shinkage-ryu is in its 21st. The Jikishin-kageryu is in its 18th. All of these schools date back to the late 15th or mid 16th century, the very dawn of the organized bugei ryuha phenomenon. How is it that the Togakure-ryu has passed through 34 generations. And why has the Kumogakure-ryu passed though only 14?
    The Takamatsu-Hatsumi genealogy for the Shinden Fudo-ryu traces things back 25 generations to the mid 11th century, which is at least 400 years earlier than any historian accepts the existence of any bugei ryuha--and at least two centuries before the scale and organization of warfare in Japan would make espionage activity valuable enough for anyone to seriously consider developing methods for carrying it out.
    Hatsumi's titles to most of the ryuha he claims to be soke for come from Takamatsu To*****ugu, who in turn claimed to have inherited them from Toda Masamitsu. It's worth noting, in this context, that in the third edition of the Bugei ryuha daijiten Watatani Kiyoshi stated that Takamatsu (who was, BTW, a personal friend of his) had created his "ninpo" ryuha and teachings from "ninja-gokko" ("childhood ninja games")..."

    • @bujindork

      The lineage is suspect but people make.up MA all the time from previous stuff. The Gracies invented a whole system less than a 100 years ago that changed current MA. Same with Ed Parker, Bruce Lee, Ueshiba Morehei, Jigoro Kano, etc. I dont practice Bujinkan but its just as legit as anything else out there

    • @JusUltimate
      @JusUltimate 4 місяці тому +1

      Because no one really cares about lineages outside of Japan. Most people just like the system and and train and go on with their lives. Ive met Bujinkan people that believe Takamatsu made up the whole thing but they like the training so who really cares

    Sad. I think equally sad is how he broke up the lineages to multiple teachers. For someone who spoke so much about Takamatsu and the transferring of the arts, hatsumi does not seem to have put as much thought I to his succession and that’s unfortunate.
