What a fabulous garden. Love how you move plants around it they are not happy in their location or you think they will look better elsewhere. Your hydrangeas are stunning. Your grandma taught you well. Get on gardening and making videos. Thank you.
I just watched my first video of you and can say that I liked your honesty. You showed not only the best part but parts of your garden that didn't look it's best
The Japanese beetle loved my canna leaves last year and I cut back my grape vines because of the red lanternfly. I hope 2021 is a better year for my plants and flowers
It was such a treat to tour your beautiful gardens! I’m watching the video long after you made it, but I think I’ve enjoyed it even more than I would have if I had watched it months ago. It’s almost the middle of January, and I’m in New York in zone 5b, so there’s not a bloom in sight in my gardens! Thank you for sharing.
Gorgeous gardens! TFS. My husband is a cotton farmer in west Texas. You definitely do NOT want to stop watering when your cotton blooms. That is when it needs it the most. It will pitch off blooms and squares (what the cotton forms from) without water during this critical time. ~ Betty
@gardenanswer wanted to share this with you. She seems like a kindred spirit with her hydrangea garden and she sells cut flowers as well. Fabulous tour through the garden lots of pretty things and great tidbits of info! I💚🌻
How lovely & peaceful. I loved seeing everything but especially your Hydranger. I only have two & i need more. Great video. Thanks to your hubby for filming.💜
Loved your video as usual. One thing I like is how much you enjoy all of your plants! They not only are for your business but they bring you a lot of enjoyment as well.
I wish we could share picture comments on UA-cam! I would love to show you how glorious my Colorblaze Velveteen coleus looks right now! I just planted the last of what I wanted in my cut flower garden on Sunday after church...I can’t wait to start harvesting 🤗
Great garden, so many plants for a small lot, nice work, thanks for the tour. Just riding out the end of winter here in zone 4, started a couple plants and have a bunch to start next week and then again for the next 2 months. Then hopefully all the snow and ice will be gone and like you say I'll be "digging in the dirt". This is all I do now, watch garden vids....end of winter is so depressing and this pandemic doesn't help but your tour has.

Beautiful! I can’t have half of that......14 acres of deer that can’t read the deer resistant plant lists. I love to see hydrangea gardens others can grow.
You’ve given me some great ideas on what to grow next year! Your garden is beautiful and all of hydrangeas are just lovely. Annabelle hydrangea has always bloomed ginormous heads for me here in Alabama. I never knew there were so many types of sunflowers too! The dark one is stunning. Props to your hubby for getting the kitty in the video! Thanks for sharing your garden.
I absolutely love your garden! We have a small yard and and I started planting flowers in the spring. You are definitely inspiring me to plant more hydrangeas. They are gorgeous!
I am so amazed and inspired by your 1/2 acre. I am going crazy trying to write down so many of the flowers you mentioned. I am in 5b I believe in western MA. I rely on a wonderful woman and her greenhouse on a farm up the street for so many of my flowers. I wish I could share some photos, but I will be taking so many of your ideas. I have about 8 acres. I am no where near your beautifully manicured gardens. Mine are much more "natural" like your front yard. I subscribed and will be catching up and re watching so i can write stuff down. I have begun to grow cut flowers just for work and neighbors and fun, but I would love to have a flower farm someday. Thank you
Lovely. Consider putting large bushes such as a privet hedge between the road/sidewalk and your front yard to soften the noise up to 50% . It might make it feel more private as well for more peaceful gardening.
Great idea Shelley! I'm a bit limited with the camera and editing software I have. Do you think if I did just a close up tour with plant names flashing on the screen that would help? Trying to make the best of what I have without breaking the bank.

I would love to see a video sometime of your flower stand selection with examples of your bouquets! I just planted some Lupine today. (A little late but it was so dry all the month of June for us in Saratoga County, NY.) We are getting really great rain this week, so I decided to plant today. We had a maple tree that we had to take down years ago, and the soil is amazing. I dug up all the poison sumac trees that were growing and created a really pretty circular bed. I hope they come up! I've never planted mixed Lupine. I love seeing what you have going on!
Hi there! Yes it has been so dry here also this year! I'll definitely show the stand! You can see it on my Instagram. Its a simple table/umbrella setup. The bouquets are smaller versions of the hand tied bouquet video I did. Happy gardening!
Hydrangeas, so gorgeous, wish I could grow them but the deer are relentless when it comes to hydrangeas-I have given up up on growing them until I have a properly fenced area. Found you from the Garden Answer video :) you clearly garden with the same philosophy as I do. A happy find!
Great garden tour💚 I could in vision for your front .... a little excavation to get rid of some unwanted plants. I would than put a black wrought iron fence closer up by the road and plant some wonderful plants and shrubs so it spills over wrought iron fence roadside. Inviting for your cut flower selling and would cut down on road noise and soften the look. 💚🌻💚🌻💚🌻💚Happy Gardening 💚🌻💚🌻💚🌻💚
Jeanne thank you! I think this is an absolutely wonderful idea. I'm going to try and make that happen in the future! We have some strange water and sewer lines in the front that I've always been scared to hit. I think I'll make some calls to get them marked because I love your idea!
Beautiful. Im having THE MOST insane year with pests. I'm on my 4th bottle of Bonides Neem oil and Rose x 3 in 1. Its just insane. My slug population is out of control. Ive never seen anything like it. And I cant kill them. So every night I go out and collect them and put them across the street lol. My average was about 15 a night , but now I barely see any. Thank god. The rose slugs have Destroyed my rose leaves. I couodnt figure out what it was until it was too late!!! The beetles are everywhere. And to make matters worse, I get this GIANT beetle and I looked them up and they're called the Grapevine Beetle. Theyre an INCH LONG!!! So gross! So I got beetle bag traps. They work.
Thank you for this video. I have been Wanting to do a business selling plants. Specially medicinal. I have plenty of plants starters. Now that I just got laid off.

I just took my Lilly out I'm so scared my cat will eat on it. I thought about planting them in a spot that I can fence around and put up chicken wire so she can't get to it because I realy want tiger lillies and more!! Great tour!!
Try Milky White Spore for Japanese beetles. I have had really good luck with it! Your garden is beautiful! Your hydrangeas are glorious! Chianti: Key -on-tee.
I know it kills the grubs only, so that means less beetles the next year? As a new gardener, I don’t understand how it helps if the beetles are in the “area” and not just coming out of your own ground.
I love how you reference your name. Now I know how to say it!!!💜. Also thanks for the awesome advice on Japanese beetles. Oh how I despise those things!!!! I am going to try it!

You’ve got such a lovely garden. I’m in S.Jersey and the spotted lantern fly made it’s way to our side this year. Can you tell me how you get rid of them in your garden? The guides say to kill on sight, but they jump when I try to swat them.
On either end of your grandmother‘s garden are dense groups of a very tall spike plant. Are those irises foliage? I love how excited you get over your snowball hydrangea! Haha
Hi Danielle ! Your channel is terrific!! Question? , what makes your gardens a farm? My husband says I'm a farmer but I see me as a gardener.. I have a small garden. Thanks for clarification 😍
Your video is so inspirational. Its Amazing you now all the names of your plants and flowers. Thank you. I am wondering where do you order your seeds ? Can you recommend? I have been watching your video and it very relaxing and fun!!

Beautiful garden, thanks for such an informative tour..you passed by the gutter on the right side of your house..it was hooked up to something. What was that?
Hi Louisa! I don't. I'm so sorry if you do! I had them back when we lived in western PA. Many gardeners there had electric fences around their vegetable gardens.
Hi! Just discovered this channel. I live in the area so it’s good to know what will survive. How does everyone reading deal with weeds? Is all this mulched? It’s difficult to see. Thx for opinions.
I love having sage in the garden. I put sage in one of my pots with other annuals for the texture and color. If I need to pinch it back, then I have sage to dry for cooking. Double whammy👌!
Your garden tours are wonderful!! Thank you for sharing!! On one of your tours you showed a look a like to Queen Anne’s lace, and you talked about how to dye it. Could you please tell me the name of the plant? Was it a hemlock?
Your garden is absolutely beautiful, such variety of plants! Speaking of Quince, I have a hedge of them and they are getting pretty invasive. Do yours do that and what’s a safe way to kill the suckers? I can literally hack it daily and it outpaces me.
I’ve stopped & looked up some species I didn’t know about & now interested in. Q about the Japanese Cedar...how many yrs has it been there...is it a slow grower? Also can you use Neem Oil...it’s organic. TY beautiful, all that on .5 acre!
Hi. Thank you for all of this information. I have a home based floral business in Kansas City and want to grow some of my own cut flowers. Do you offer flowers to designers?
hi beautiful garden and i liked the collection of plants you have...one question : what is the type of grass you have in your lawn with those tiny little white flowers ?
Unique catnip she cries out to you. LOL, I love your garden I only live 1 hour and a half from Lancaster. Did you get hit with all this snow. We got over 2 ft here in the Lehigh Valley.
Absolutely beautiful!! Thank you for this i needed this today to take my mind off of things going on in this crazy world! We both have alot of Hydrengeas i love them too! Yes Japanese beetles are here just noticed them on my roses and hollyhocks this week! I had to break out seven dust, its the only things that works for me. Im also growing those burgandy sunflowers this year, mine havent bloomed yet but have buds on them, i love burgandy in the garden! I have a question for you i have 2 Annabelle Hydrangeas they are planted under a dog wood tree and are shaded by a row of trees dividing mine and my neighbors yard. This is thier 3rd year here and they have thier clusters of blooms on them but only a few flowers are blooming on each cluster.. if that makes since and they have been like that for a few weeks now. Do you think they need to be in full sun or should I leave them alone?
Hey Trav! So they have full flower heads - but the flower clusters are not opening as they had in the past? Is it that each flower in the cluster is present, but not open and staying in tight bud? Or it lacks bloom heads all together? Thanks!
"They say" that four o'clocks will control Japanese beetles because the beetles love to chew on them and they're poisonous. I have to believe that there's some truth to it because I had a couple of years when the beetles were bad when I bought this house 22 years ago. I had never heard this about four o'clocks until this year, so that's not why I was planting them- it was a nostalgia thing. Anyway, if I see four or five beetles in a summer, that's a lot. They're not something you can use for cut flowers so far as I know (their little trumpet flowers open in the evening only and only for one night). They are native to the Americas, but not North America, and probably not considered invasive; they will reseed if the dead plants are left in place, but not profusely. It's a sort of a sprawling plant, which some don't like, although if planted someplace like next to a foundation, sometimes is perennial, in which case the plant can be more upright and pretty tall. The flowers are also lightly scented. Just an FYI in case you want to try ir for controlling the beetles, which would probably take a couple of years of growing them.
Hi Sue! The ones that do best in afternoon sun are the panicle hydrangeas (Limelight, QuickFire, Pinky Winky, etc) and Smooth Hydrangeas (Annabelle, Invincibelle Spirit). My big leaf, mountain, and oakleaf hydrangeas tend to prefer morning sun and afternoon shade.
Very enjoyable garden tour. I have Chipmunks that keep eating my sunflower seed sprouts 😥 also do you have a suggestion on a hydrangea that gets mostly shade vs. Sun?
Hi Cathy! Oh darn those Chipmunks. I have squirrels and bunnies. I use chicken wire and bird netting to protect baby sunflowers. Big leaf, mountain, and oakleaf Hydrangea are good in shade, smooth hydrangeas can take sun or shade, and panicle hydrangeas do great in full sun. I hope that is helpful!
I love growing flowers they are so beautiful, I sit back and enjoy them when my yard is full of blooming flowers.

There's a product called Sucker Punch from Bonide
I’ve stopped & looked up some species I didn’t know about & now interested in. Q about the Japanese Cedar...how many yrs has it been there...is it a slow grower? Also can you use Neem Oil...it’s organic. TY beautiful, all that on .5 acre!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful garden! What is the name of the stunning blue hydrangea you acquired with the property?
Hey Barbara! Oh, I wish I knew, but sadly I don't. Seems very similar to a NIkko Blue if I had to guess - but honestly not sure.
Hi. Thank you for all of this information. I have a home based floral business in Kansas City and want to grow some of my own cut flowers. Do you offer flowers to designers?
Have you tried milky spore for Japanese Beetles? It needs to be reapplied for a few years but then it lasts for like 10 years.
What is the variety of blue hydrangea that the previous owner had on the side of the house and used to sell to florist?! I love that blue color !!!
hi beautiful garden and i liked the collection of plants you have...one question : what is the type of grass you have in your lawn with those tiny little white flowers ?
Hi! It's clover.
Unique catnip she cries out to you. LOL, I love your garden I only live 1 hour and a half from Lancaster. Did you get hit with all this snow. We got over 2 ft here in the Lehigh Valley.
Your garden is so pretty. I'm just curious, do you use landscaping paper to control the weed? And I'm a new subscriber.
Hey friend curious do you have landscaping fabric and mulch down under the beds??
Or
Is it just soil?
Thanks!
@@NorthlawnFlowerFarmandGardens yes they are not all opening they have thier buds but only like 4 flowers are blooming on each one 😕
When would you cut the straw flower for the best dried flower?
Do you have a botanical name for that plant?
This is amazing information!!!!!! Thank you so much!!!
Wonderful information! Thank you so much for sharing! I will put that on my seed list for next season. Thanks again!
@@Bamboo4U2 Garden Four O'Clock is Mirabilis jalapa.
@@Bamboo4U2 Mirabilis jalapa. The seed companies sell it as "four o'clock" or "marvel of peru".
Are your hydrangeas in partial shade? Can you grow them in afternoon sun?
Please let me know if you need to spray your Apple tree. Mine suffers from rust.
Hello, the mysterious shrub is a hazelnut tree. Not 100% sure, but like 99% yes. :D
Is your mystery shrub a filbert? It's hard to tell on video on my phone but the leaves look similar to my filberts.
Hi, I love your garden! It’s full of wonderful gems. May I ask where you buy your Chianti sunflower seeds from?
Hi Isabelle! They are from Burpee.
Northlawn Flower Farms thank you!
@@NorthlawnFlowerFarmandGardens yes it was very helpful thank you so much .
