You two are so fun. The wholesomeness of Christ emanates from you. The flowers are difficult competition for the beauty of your character. I subbed. Thank you for your cheerful happy gardening encouragement. Blessings. I always like to share the fourth commandment KJV says REMEMBER. It’s reminding us of Genesis 2:2&3. History reveals it was actually Constantine that thought to change the times and laws concerning Sabbath. He was a sun worshipper. Jesus is our example. Not rome.
Thank you so much for these videos! And for sharing so honestly 🙏 I’m taking so many notes from your videos, I’m trying to start my own flower farm … so lots for me to learn! 😊
You are both so lovely ! I can’t imagine putting up with all this work and very little pleasure. I love gardening I can see that you do too. I wish you a much better year this year. Good Luck!👍🏻
Hi Ladies! I’m in Ohio (6b). I’ve really enjoyed your videos. They’re so honest and genuine! I look forward to seeing more! I’ve always been a gardener but I have moved and have a larger space now so I will be trying a cut flower garden for the first time. You’ve given me some great info and I plan to check out your cut flower classes! 💐💐
Oh you girls are so sweet, I feel like I've known you already :) Blessings from Ontario, Canada - zone 5B - like to see more videos on peonies, dahlias,...Thanks...
It was great to hear your recap of 2020! I've been thinking over my growing season too and being optimistic for next year! 😊 "Chasing the dream and it ends up chasing you" - exactly! Best wishes for 2021!
Your flowers are beautiful! I'm putting in a large cut-flower garden next year, & am going to be ordering lots of roses, dahlias, snapdragons, ranunculus, etc.
I enjoyed listening to this and I gleaned some tips for my own garden.😊. Hearing that there won’t be sip n snips makes me 😢 but I get it too that you are ready for a break! Happy fall!🍁🍂
I think part of the problem people have had with dahlias, is planting them out so late. I had mine out in March after growing in pots for two weeks. They had alot of rain and I was started to regret my decision, but by early July I had them in full bloom. I also fed them compost pretty much every other week and once a week fertilizer. I did have to pull one due to a virus, and to make sure it didn't spread to anything else. They're still blooming, zone 7A.
@@rootdesigncompany Weird was the word! Summer did not seem to start until August, then we got smoke 2 weeks in September, but first frost is predicted tonight so it seems like summer was hiding until our lockdown was over...crazy year all around.
You ladies are so relatable! I love watching you, your content and I really enjoy your humor - very Danish (at least I think ;) ). Looking forward to many more videos from you :) Greetings from Denmark
Hello! This is the first video of yours that I've ever seen! So glad it popped up! I love the arbor in it's rustic and organic charm. I have subscribed to your channel and look forward to seeing more content from y'all!
I would love to hear more about the no-dig methods you guys use! I've only heard of one other no-dig or no-till flower farmer and I'm desperate to learn from others for my own garden. this next year will be my first season growing cut flowers. Thank you!
If you search for it on UA-cam you should be able to find some tutorials. We usually layer on some leaves/compost/mushroom mulch after clearing our beds in the fall, which serves as a weed barrier and also to enrich the soil. Just do light weeding as needed, and dig a hole with your trowel to plant the plants.
Jenny Love recommends planting radishes in between your lisianthus to help with weeds. I think it’s in her post on lisianthus on her website? Or it was on one of the No Till Flower garden podcasts. Did I hear you say that you two are doing some no till garden practices? I think that would be a great video-to discuss how you do your.beds? You two do a wonderful job! So glad I found your channel!
Thanks for the recap! It made me feel better about some of the weather related failures of this past season! My Dahlias (120 varieties) were at least a month behind this year (late cold snap here too--Lancaster County, zone 6B). It was mid May till they were in the ground--two weeks later than planned. They are booming now though--it will be sad to see them freeze! My Zinnias also had a super year!! I have never used a planting for so long without powdery mildew! Then all three plantings got it bad at the same time several weeks ago. Certainly got my worth out of them though!! Really enjoyed hearing your thoughts and plans! THANK YOU!
Thanks for sharing your season highlights/lowlights! We like to hear how it went for other growers, too, and sounds like you had a similar experience this year.
'you chase the dream and then it ends up the dream chasing you around...' very well said! I just binge watched all your videos and am very eager to hear more - esp. how you time management this side hustle beside your main job, have you ever done math about the input vs profit that you are making? I totally understand you guys are doing it out of interest and love for flowers, but I am really interested to learn more from your 'business model' for a matter of no better word! very exited for more content on this channel! ❤❤❤
Love your videos and the realistic approach you share about flower gardening. Inspirational. You mentioned a type of forget-me-nots you planted. Type and where do you order them?
@@rootdesigncompany foxglove is very succeplable to rot, it doesnt like wetness close to the crown, covering it keeps it wet, in your zone I dont think you need protection for it. Why do you do it anyway, did it die without protection in previos years?
I enjoy watching you two so much, and your garden is so serene 💗🌸 I’m wondering where you like to get your ranunculus corms and when you started them and put them out in the garden? Thanks ☺️ Lauren
You guys should really put your website info in the description of your videos and also on your about page of your youtube channel. It will help to drive traffic to your website and give people a way to find out more about you. :) Love your videos!!!
Talking about frost in May. I'm outside of Pitt PA and that frost killed off so many berries that sustain the birds through summer and winter and us humans who do local fruit production like early blooming apples and stone fruits. There was nothing I could have done.
Love your videos! You gals are so cute. I'm curious - When did you get your ranunculus in the ground? I'll be growing some for the first time this year (in a low tunnel) and have a similar climate to yours. We also have a short spring like you. I'm nervous about when to get them in the ground!
We planted ours February 1st this year, into a low tunnel that had been covered for several weeks to help the ground warm. We also put black plastic on the frozen ground before setting up the low tunnel to hopefully draw more heat into the ground. Seemed to work! It snowed on us the day we planted them!

About the foxglove, try leaving a few uncovered and don’t cut their leaves, let them self mulch and see if that works.
yes, we will have to try that. I feel like maybe letting them do their thing is worth a shot.
@@rootdesigncompany foxglove is very succeplable to rot, it doesnt like wetness close to the crown, covering it keeps it wet, in your zone I dont think you need protection for it. Why do you do it anyway, did it die without protection in previos years?
Fox glove don’t mind a bit of dry soil when small I have them coming up everywhere at home. I have never mulched them. 💗
Great information! Thank you. Do you put your flowers into fridges after they are cut?
No, we typically just store them in our cool studio to rehydrate.

Done. I was planning to, but apparently forgot. :) Thanks for the reminder!!
The tulip issue intrigues me. Extra roch compost, fertilizing heavily, would that not feed the tulips well enough to help them produce a second year?
Love your channel!! Could you tell me the name of that pink rose at the start of your video? Is it a David Austin? Gorgeous!

@@rootdesigncompany Thanks. Just trying to get context since the state covers a lot..My husband is from the Cleveland area, cold and gray.
I am not sure, but I think that my mothers dahlias always recovered, but hers are from the 1970's, so the newer ones may not recover.
Yes, I’m very curious to see if they bounce back next year. Thanks for that tip!
Margin. 2021 is about margin. Not margarine. 😅
