@@sayemsss560 bruh. The stock intake takes air from the outside thru optimized engineered intake systems. This k&n will pull hot air from the engine bay. If you don’t know nothing about cars maybe you should be quiet sometimes.
Just to add its not a MaF sensor on this type of BMW its a air intake temperature sensor. But as said the ring holding the sensor fits perfectly between the new filter and throttle body intake flex pipe.
how did you install the flex pipe of the kit please it says to have it under the front bumper and cut whole in the undertray in the instructions but that seems madness to do
I bought this one just off amazon, cheaper then getting it from K&N itself. Its a K&N 57-0648-1 Filter - comes in around £90.00 on amazon, whereas around £110.00 from K&N website.

@@muhammedgayretli4286 i did it on my car it sounds crazy good and the acceleration got slightly better but the fuel consumption got slighty more too but its worth it :D
i buyed the same one and i drove with that all summer. It has a great sound but u lose so much power... arround 40hp. so i built in the original again because of to less power and totaled the car same day:)
Hab den K&N Filter an meinem E90 320i (N46B20) jetzt auch mal probeweise aufgemacht und der Sound ist echt nicht schlecht war überrascht was das ausmacht
@@zxkunft5373 klingt richtig gut, aber witzigerweise nur dann wirklich krass wenn man die Valvetronic ausmacht (Exzenterwellensensor abstecken). Dann zieht er in höheren Drehzahlen gefühlt auch besser, hat aber auch Mehrverbrauch.
@@obscurecity3025 no, it just runs over the throttle valve like most other engines. Pretty much same performance but the gas mileage suffers a tiny bit
@@tiborvisi7438 Exactly, German cars are very good at catching air in the front and getting it to the engine. This guy eliminated engineering. I have it removed also but i got 318d it has an intercooler so it doesn't matter. But NA he lost some power for sure but it sounds better definitely

What I did was route it to the side intake grill in front of the front wheel works pretty well

This is the N46 Engine (N46B20) but the air intake is still the same, the K&N 57-0648-1 filter will fit both the N46 and N43 engines.

Does the filer stay out just like that or does it go back into an enclosed box
The filter box stays out because there is a cold air supply pipe coming from below to allow greater air flow
there is another version of this k&n filter that stays in the filter box, my friend got one and it is as good as this one :)
The E-2021 fits in the airbox.
I've done similar with my bmw. Only difference being I have put my k&n filter in the air box so the engine bay still looks stock

You have something wrong with your car. At most you'd lose some low end throttle response.
