So proud that he’s my uncle, these episodes are a fascinating insight into his life that he simply doesn’t talk about. One of the most intelligent people I’ve ever met.Great episode, not even biased, he genuinely is a remarkable human being.
As a French subscriber, I may offer a few clue regarding the topic of targeted killings directed at french djihadis by the french special forces. This is a question that has been openly debated in the press in France, even though it has never been acknowledged as a systematic policy by the executive branch. The articles published by defense journalists are clearly stating that the french special forces were providing target packages to friendly forces who would then be in charge of the actual killings. They also noted that this narrative was likely a cover, with the purpose to avoid potential litigations in the future by relatives of slain djihadists. As for the drones, the reason we didn't use them probably was that we didn't have them at the time (we've got our first MQ9 Reapers in 2020...) On a more personal note, from what I've been able to gather around me, the overwhelming feeling regarding those operations, as long as they are carried out outside homeland territory, goes from "Shrug" to "Job well done".
I subscribe to this channel but I will be honest don’t really watch podcasts. Can I just say what a bunch of gentlemen and found it fascinating to watch and listen . I will pay more attention in future 😂. Keep up the good work and thank you for your service and keeping the works a safer place 🙋♂️
Last night was the first time I was able to catch you guys live. Great cast. I was dying of laughter and then there were these random bursts of extremely loud banter all while I'm trying to put my kid to sleep. It was awesome. I felt like I was in the Marines again, bullshitting at a buddy's house, trying to make the most intelligent, meaningful discussions, all the while battling the effects of inebriation.
I absolutely loved this episode and guest. His dry sarcastic sense of humor + his accent = the best. Pay him whatever he demands and what you guys have too to get him as the 3rd host!
I love how this episode wound down! It reminds me of perhaps how too many evenings wound down at the NSWC barracks on any Thursday/Friday/Saturday night ended. Thanks for bringing back those strangely wonderful memories from that proper sufferfest we all despised yet miss so much! Thank you, gents!
I loved this one of the most unforgettable pods I have had the pleasure to listen to. As the drinks flowed the tongues became loose to a hilarious degree. It was akin to watching men in their seventies taking about when I was a lad??? Brilliant
Team House and Combat Story have some of the best guests imo. The difference is that CS has excellent audio and TH has sub par to terrible audio quality. It’s a shame really. Dee, it’s not just this episode! What’s the issue? Bad mics? Let us know and maybe we can help you guys fix it.
Actually giving it a listen, audio sounds fine on my computer. Maybe it sounds messed up at some point because someone leaned away from a mic or something...
Not sure if you take request for guest or not, but if you do can you try to get Pete Blaber on the show? I believe he was a LT. Col. or Col. in US Army SMU. His book The Mission, the Men, and Me is an excellent read and ha see been a great learning experience for me through my time as an Infantryman and through life in general. Just a suggestion not sure if you can but I believe it would be a tremendous interview seems like a great dude just by judgement on his writing in his book and very intelligent. Edit: re-reading the book now ( It’s like my 15th time Lol) but to me it’s lessons are still applicable.
Sean is very good at interviews, he lets the person do the speaking and he’s also very supportive of mental health/substance abuse. I wouldn’t say it feels more “real”, he just goes about it differently.
VERY interesting, brilliantly presented discussion. Can you please do a podcast on the current Ukraine/USA/NATO/Russia situation?? Give us your take on it
Great show, the first time he was on prompted me to me buy his book. I've always thought good leaders have one trait in common and that's self deprecation. One point though, "the" media is not the enemy, but "this" media (mainstream, corporate) most definitely is.
I cannot believe he stood up for the media in this country. Especially the times, WE HAVE NO LEGITIMATE MEDIA IN AMERICA THAT IS ON TV OR PRINT! They are A HUGE PART OR THE PROBLEM!
This man is funny as hell, has the devil's charm, is spot on with his evaluations and still humble and on the level. Great insights best interview although I did not see his Ep.30 but the whiskey resupply has to be sorted first!
So MARSOC essentially encompasses of marine raiders & force recon? Just curious so any information will help. Also I heard that force recon has now been devolved and merged with the raiders? So which is the prime unit of marsoc?
Remember when Kamala was asked if she would take a vaccine developed under the Trump administration and she said no? That's one hell of a leadership lesson.
Off the Rails! And pure organic conversation. Watching y’all getting wasted was hilarious. I dont want to wake up with my boxers backwards and mop on my head. Blahahahahaha!
Big difference between episode 30 and 130. You have de-compressed. I agree with your observations about a politically divided active duty force. I never encountered politics during my entire 30-years (1981-2012), but I disappointingly see it in the USMC. There is no room for partisan politics in the military.
I'm astonished, by the grace in which these guys can speak about one of the most clstrfkd withdrawals in our countries history. That right there is deadly professionalism.
Is this show all a big PSYOP?..😂 A great line of commentary regarding counter argument in written form (could be point by point or philosophical). After a 24 page essay on the Patriot Act, I didn't have many takers on a counter argument 🧐
07m15 approx: - promoting the wrong guys...... We used to call it the "Philpott Syndrome" where they are promoted 2 levels above their own incompetence! 16 years I took that shit before I could not in all cconcience (plus the body said enough) follow another idiot to get my mates maimed, crippled or killed. Loved Andrew's book & would loved to have seen him rise higher.......
I disagree with a handful of the statements that he made. Specifically from his perspective, (I'm a founding member of MARSOC/enlisted Raider) the senior level commanders are the reason we were/are so slow to progress. Career adverse officers and outsiders are the death of progression within Special Operations.
21:56 Re Smedley Butler, and the Marines protecting the profits of companies in the banana wars, in countries in Latin America, those countries remember that, so when we want them to do something, like vote with us on a resolution in the UN, or join them in fighting against Russia, they give us the giant finger, cuz they still remember those banana wars. So Butler was right.
I remember when General Al Gray became Commandant and one of the key points he made was the concept of getting away from the Zero Defect Issue that was in the Marine Corps previously. Young leaders should be able to make mistakes and learn from them. The idea was to build better leaders. I guess we haven’t learned.
@@notundermywatch3163 Yeah it's unusual, if I remember right, his mother is american, was born in Hong Kong and grew up in London. He has the purest colonial english I heard since forever. Since Trainspotting (the film) and later Guy Ritchie production and other factors (social I guess), british accent has become more "working class" with respect for everyone, it's just a thing I noticed; being not english speaker. Anyway one of my favourite guest, I discovered the channel thank to his first interview.
Russians making light work of de facto NATO forces ( Ukraine ) who had eight years to dig in. Masters in combined warfare the west can only dream about.
First of all: great guest. However, how does one who read law at University College-London not know about the US Supreme Court precedent stating that no experimental treatments may be made mandatory (originally Anthrax)?
I have on occasion failed to lock my screen before I put my phone in my pocket. Consequently I have called and texted to people unintentionally. I have also texted people photos without meaning to do so. It was lucky I have nothing inappropriate in my phone. I can probably excuse one dick photo from my friend. It could have been by accident. I definitely will tease him about having the photo in the first place. If it is more than one photo I will be offended.
I would argue that most French people would privately agree with the 1erRPIMA shooting "French" ISIS terrorists, where ever they can find them... so, don't look in the mirror and conclude that everyone thinks like you?
Not the only one. Rick Rescorla, from the southwest of England, voluntarily went to fight in Vietnam with the US, and died evacuating people from the WTC on 9/11.

Great episode - thanks guys. I take some satisfaction in having contributed financially to your state of inebriation.
And I will add the disappointment about the whiskey pour was hilarious 😂
In studio interviews are the best
Love this guy. Great ep
My Dudes
you gotta bring Mr.Milburn back
He should be a regular 🍻
Good to be entertained and informed by three of my favorite people: especially in the “leading up” piece. That applies everywhere.
Absolutely one your best shows. Keep them coming and I can’t wait for Andrew Milburn to come back to The Team House.
This guy is great. Genius, introspective, and hilarious
What a dude. Fantastic episode
Great interview. I didn’t expect a colonel to be that real. The whiskey helped.
Say goodbye to your ears if listening to this with headphones.
hahah especially towards the end, they enter their speech by slamming it eh
