I could listen to Andy Milburn talk all day about basically anything! I highly recommend watching the excellent hidden gem of a show he co-hosts called "Eyes-On" on TheTeamhouse youtube channel! Excellent topics, guests, and perspectives! 👍 (D, the producer/ another panel host of Eyes On now owes me atleast $50 for leaving this comment BTW... I know your lurking in these comments D! 🤣👍)
There are solid scientific studies now on how writing about traumatic experiences (with pen and paper) for a specific amount of time per day, actually has a profound effect on allowing the brain to work through the PTS. It dramatically reduces the severity.
@18:40 you guys touched on a major issue. Most Brigade commanders and higher staff, for fear of their careers, did not feed the national decision makers with accurate honest assessments. Rinse and repeat for 20 years.
Really enjoyed listening to this episode. Andrew Milburn seems like a really good leader who cared a lot about the people he led. Also him and Andy were really funny together.
Around 1 hour 8 mjnutes, you bring up multiple persepctives from an engagement. And the first thing that popped up was Denzel Washington asking Matt Damon what happened the night their pilot was killed, in Courage Under Fire. Solid movie and still resonates to this day. Yes a fake story, but highlights heroism and also during Desert Storm. Courage Under Fire...
Great episode. Thanks to both Mr. Milburn and Mr. Stumpf. Very much appreciated. For whatever it’s worth, if I may, I believe there’s nothing wrong with a ‘Never Quit’ ethos- as long as it’s doing the right thing. We’ve all experienced starting something, whatever it is, and it is undoubtedly right, but then something happens, conditions change, and suddenly it’s wrong. The only thing we should ever quit is doing something wrong [and sometimes it’s being stupid- this I know]. That’s why God invented ‘break contact’ drills.
I wanted to be a forward observer at ANGLICO in west palm but they told me all they had was a TOW Gunner in Miami 🤷🏻♂️😂 But then they told me it was “Miami Gardens.” 😂🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️ Semper Fi! lol
I remember my friend coming back from Afghanistan saying he thought everyone was back in the US cheering us on and waiting for us with a parade, when he came back he realized noone gave a shit about the war, i feel bad for soldiers that feel they wasted there time and risked there life for nothing because there right

For "modern Warfare" you need some guys from Ukraine war. Because that's where real modern warfare is happening in real time.. With this real modern warfare not even top US operators have some serious experience.. They never faced enemy who is using high tech gear like drones with thermal cameras etc...
@@stephenwilliams4531 What it has to do with modern warfare in Ukraine? In Africa is not happening modern warfare. Give me example when US forces faced enemy with top high tech gear like satelite images, Surveillance drones with thermal cameras, suicide drones, soldiers with night visions, thermal scopes on their weapons etc. etc.. In 99% of cases they faced enemy with old soviet style gear... Therefore they have no idea how it's like to be watched from the sky and be hunted by drones dropping grenades on their heads, flying suicide drones into their vehicles etc. etc.. So I have no idea what are you talking about in terms of Wagner in Africa. It has nothing to do with that..
@@jirihutecka9020 in that case when did the Russians face a near pier enemy? I was letting you know you have no idea what your talking about and neither do I because we’re not in JSOC. We couldn’t possibly know what mission sets they’ve been doing since Afghan withdrawal. My guess is a lot of FID with Ukrainian SF in Ukraine.
@@stephenwilliams4531 But who is talking about "Russians" specifically? Only you... This was such an awesome conversation, didn't really feel like 3 hours to be honest.
Another great one. Got deep at the end. Great man. Cant wait for your book.
I'm glad your getting these stories out there and keeping the memories alive
Episode 352, Damn Andy, you’re a beast. This is amazing.

Seen this guy a couple of times on Team House channel. Hilarious when he got hammered.

The only person who was held accountable was a Marine Lt Col and he was punished for demanding accountability.

Was this an Andrew vs Andy conversation? Didn't know such things existed.😂
What's the name of the author Andy mentioned, who fixed his PTSD through writing, and inspired him to write. Really good show.

Ask Wagner what happened in Africa before you start spouting shite, they gave out medals for their survivors.
