Hi there! I really enjoyed your video, I'm from Panama (The country) and I was thinking abt a A6000, but it's getting really hard to get one in a good price, I just got an offert of a DSC-HX400V for 200$... I just want something to start with photography in manual, do you think this HX400V is worth it? I like the 10 fps shutter speed and the lens lenght up to 1,200 mm! Thanks again for the video it was really helpful!
$207?! For a NEX 3? I’m buying one tomorrow for €40. But it’s not the 3N. I recently bought the Sony a6700, but wanted a little camera on the side that’s affordable and super easy to carry, so, going for the Sony NEX 3 ☺️
I started with the NEX-3, immediately "upgraded" to NEX-3N, and now happy with ZV-E10, was thinking of getting a6700 or FX30, but instead bought a new lens, the mythical Sony 90mm Macro. Any recommendations for beginners and intermediate lens, primes and kits?
@billybaires9469 Yes, especially if you don't want to deal with used equipment and have the money. The ZVE10 has a mechanical shutter, and lowlight performance is quite good. IMO it's the best budget hybrid (photo and video) camera in Sony APSC. The a6700 is the best APSC, but it's more expensive. If you only intend to use it for outdoor photos and not video, maybe the a6500 or 6400 would be better options, but more expensive than ZV-E10. If budget is a concern and you only want to do photos and not video, a6000 is more than enough, also 6100.
Check out the TTArtisan 27mm prime with AF for Sony E mount. Just did some testing and I love this thing. I have a full review coming out soon! Probably next week.
Great and honest, realistic list. I own an A7 III, A6700 as well as an A5100. You took the words from my mouth haha. Also, great timing for this video because I'm just about to have a consulting session with an aspiring UA-camr, their first camera after an iPhone … So my tips will be A5100, then A6700. If the budget is an issue then A5100 and investing in Sigma 16mm f1.4 That combo is unstoppable for the money. Then the A6700 if they decide to invest more in a camera than lighting ( or if we find a good solution for that..) Thanks for the inspiration!
@@tuschie8318 depends on what you want to shoot really UA-cam/vlogging/etc - wide angle lens ~f2.8 travel - anything that you like really (i like 50mm f2.8 or f1.8/1.4) you get the idea :)
Thank you man, I am really a "Beginner", I simply want to ctach some great moments while hiking, or stuff like short films... appreciate your video, keep it up man!
Appreciate this man! As someone who’s been doing UA-cam for 3 years I wouldn’t say I’m a beginner, but I’ve never purchased a camera! I do movie reactions and I think from videos I’ve seen the Sony ZVE10 is probably my best bet! I’ve been using just my iPhone pro but finally time to upgrade!
Thank you for this informative video. I actually have 2 new channels. I vlog for one, and the other is a purely beauty content focused channel. I've been doing a lot of research lately. I want to add 2 cameras in my setup. Ideally, one, but I think no one camera would be good for vlogging and sit down beauty content filming both. I have finalized Insta360 GO3 for vlogging and Sony ZV-1F for beauty content shoot. I'm yet to hit the 'place an order' button, but I do want to place it by this weekend. I was highly inclined towards buying a Canon Powershot V10 to be honest for the ease of use. I have 0 to negligible knowledge of cameras and I wanted something supremely easy to use. However, after going through so many negative reviews, I've finalized these two. What would you suggest here? Can Pocket3 be used for both vlogging and beauty content creation? I do need the beauty content to be zoomed in and super crisp quality.
Would you recommend the Sony EV-10 over the A6100 for shooting rollers for cars, car photos, as well as vlogging? I have a hard time comparing which one is better in terms of doing both.
Great video and very helpful! Though I must say, "wait for a really good deal" sounds like your mom saying "eh, just a pinch of salt" when you first start cooking and have no idea what a pinch amount should be. Hard to know what prices are good until you follow the market for a long time, maybe months up to a year at least. That and jokes aside, you do explain what a lot of people are looking for, and do it properly. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience.
Great presentation. I wasn't aware of the NEX/RX series. I bought a SLT-A57 in 2014. Brilliant. Since added used SLT-A77 and SLT-A58. The great things is that since Sony dropped A-mount, quality lenses have appeared on the market for pennies. Might give the NEX/RX series a go as so cheap.
The next-6 is such an absolute winner. Cheap and excellent for photography and so small I am never selling it thanks so much for recommending to me. Please make one video on how to use it manually I would even pay for a in-depth tutorial
Hello! Thank you for the video … it made me decide on my camera. What family portrait /portrait lens would you recommend for the Sony A7iii? Thank you !!
I want a hybrid camera good for shooting dance vids and good social media influencer photos. Which one do you recommend out of canon and sony and what model?
So, I recently purchased the Sony a6700, unwrapping it on Xmas in a few days… but I’ll be getting a Sony NEX 3 (not 3N) tomorrow for just €40… do you think it’s worth as a little sidekick for my Sony a6700? I’ll be using the Sigma 30mm f1.4 on both for now…
I’m looking for a camera with interchangeable lenses mainly for pictures. Between the a5100 and the nex 7 , which one would you recommend? Thank you for your help , and love your videos, keep up the good work 🙌🏻
In your video I felt the Sony RX100 M7 had perhaps the most impressive looking footage (that and the Sony A7 III) but the Sony RX100 M7 is fairly expensive compared to a lot of the other cameras you profiled. I also realize it could’ve been the lighting that made the difference in the RX 100 M7 footage.
Thanks for the comment! Yes, I really like the RX100 M7 footage. It is speedy, but I found mine for $500 second hand, which was a steal. It is an outstanding camera. But the A7iii has a lot to offer that this does not have as well. Again, this is for "beginners", but I am a pro and I love this camera just as much.
@@kraigpruettUS$500 is a great deal! I am in Canada so it’s somewhat more in Canadian dollars but it’s still a good deal. UA-cam recommended your video and I checked it out for ideas. Glad I did! I’ve tried using my phone but I think I want to try the dedicated camera route now.
Pretty much any of these will do top down work if you have a decent monitor to be able to see your image. A lot of these cameras don't have a fully articulating screen to be able to view your image. Personally, I would go for the A5100, ZV-E10, or or the A6700. These should get you some good results. Snag an HDMI cable and a cheap monitor from a company like FEELWORLD, you will be shooting high quality top downs in no time.
Whats your opinion on the sony alpha 6400? Ive heard its a great starter camera but it being not on the list it makes me question if im still gonna buy it.
It really is a great camera. I would put it in a similar category to the Sony ZV - E 10. The reason why I would choose that over. The 6400 is because of the USB c streaming feature and the flip out screen. But they are very similar cameras.
@@kraigpruettthank you for that insight i did notice the color depth of the a6400 is 24 bit and the zv-10 is "only" 14bit is this a big difference in picture quality or would u say thats not a real game canger for taking pictures? what do you think should be my first full frame body? i’m down to jump ship and pick one up but i feel like something on par with my a6300 in the full frame world is so expensive.
I would aim for an A7III on the used camera market. They are as low as $800 on Facebook Marketplace depending on where you live. I also saw an A7II on there for $400 the other day. Great options!
Hi Kraig, I'm new to the world of photography, looking to buy my first professional camera, really like the a6700 or the fx30, I'm planning to do more photography than video, but i do want a camera to do both. Please give me your advice. thanks
I am wondering which camera is good for both (photo and video) like hybrid camera. Also, which camera is good for sport photography? Let me know and thank you
Hey dude I just wanted to know for videos shooting like reels and UA-cam videos which one is better 1. Sony full frame any camera WITH KIT LENSE 30mm f4.5 or 2. Sony crop sensor with prime lense (sigma 30mm f1.4) which one is gives us brighter quality??
I have been researching this for like weeks but gone with the RX100 VII because I may want to try and take some concert photo shots or videos which may need the zoom range (along with travel and some car/street photography) and I don't think I am at that level to apply for media passes etc until I get some photos from within the crowd. Anything with a detachable lens most likely will not get into places where a lot of big artists perform but I think they may be okay with the RX100 line. But my friend who is a professional also recommended the same alpha cameras such as a6000/6400 and stuff rather than going into an a7iii. Maybe I'll look at the FX30/a6700 or a7iii for next
This was epic! Thank you! And a quick search on your channel answered what WAS going to be my question which was “… and any tips on 2-3 lenses?” 😅👍🏻 Am going deep next year into the Sony system as we ramp up video in our small biz so I really appreciate you getting us started 👍🏻👍🏻
I have never bought used tech. I am looking for a beginner camera for travel videos to start my you tube channel. How do you make sure that someone is not gonna scam you and send you a defective camera?
im seriously thinking about upgrading from my nex5n straight to a 7iii. Here in Czechia the prices are higher even on the used market, its hard to find one under 1300usd in good condition which sucks but it still will be a big upgrade.
I had the ZV E10 for all of 4 months because I decided to test the waters quite literally and shoot in the beach side and got smacked by a wave 😢 Was able to finally replace it with the A7iii
Any camera you can afford is the best camera for the beginner. There is no secret formula or special UA-cam advertisement or camera guru. It comes down to the individual. If you can afford $7000 or more, then spend it. Learn as go.
Thanks for the comment. I get that perspective, but I would sort of disagree. Even if you can afford a really expensive camera, and it’s within your budget, a $650 ZV-E10 might still be the best option for you. I get the sentiment though.
Hello there, thank you for the content, I already own a zve10 and 3 lenses, one of them being the 24-70 sigma art, I started mainly for my UA-cam channel that I’m developing, but recently some jobs mostly photography came in my way and I decided to invest in that area seeing is something profitable at the long term for me, my question is what do you think would be a good next step for FF? I’m currently between the A7IV and A7RV seeing ill be not looking for upgrade for at least the next two years work with it as much as possible both in video and photo, I’m sorry for the long comment, you gained a sub for sure
Hi there! Both are outstanding. The A7RV is one of my top recommendations period. It’s amazing in every way, if you have the money. I use my A7IV for all sorts of things all the time, both photo and video related. If it were me personally, I’d for for A7IV and save up for some more glass.
Its probably a stupid question but I wanted to get into photography but If I were to buy one what lens would go with it or how would I know the lens would be compatible
I also love the A-mount system, its old, but so good, like the SLT style camera, they are very good to start and for the budget (they all have a starter of 14MPX, 1280-1080p video, 15 af point IN PHASE, a EVF,...) the A-mount is also so cheap, like i get some awesome lenses for nothing (i got for exemple the exelent Minolta 50mm f1.7 for 30 bucks) and the avergae price of SLT body's start on 100-120 bucks, they are build like tank also, sor for starting its very good! (i got for fist a SLT A35 for 75 bucks with 2 lenses, sell the body for 100 bucks and got myself the A65v for only 150 bucks AND ITS AWESOME!) Buuuuuut i also love cheap E-mount cameras, like Nex 5, i got one for 30 bucks (and with the 18-55) and i kinda like it, so i get a LE EA4 for 50 bucks to adapt my old minolta lenses, and i buy a NEX 6 for 90 bucks, i wait it actuallly, and yours reviews of it is the cause haha! (i'm also sorry if my english is not very good haha, i'm french so ykyk)
Great question. I would 100% go for the A6700 in your case. If you want to make music videos, you will want the higher quality color science out of the A6700, rather than the A7iii's older color science. It will end up being a bit more than the A7iii, but if you have the funds it will be amazing. Don't worry about the APS-C size sensor, this a VERY common size when working with professional film cameras. A lot of RED's cameras are APS-C size. Very common. Just make sure you purchase glass that is a bit wider if you are worried about being too tight.
I don’t know why, but recently I have been drawn to wanting a Sony after using Canon for years and I just bought the new Fuji Xs20, which I love, but when using I am missing focus like no other and just wondering if Sony is the way to go. The people I shoot weddings with all use Sony too and I can’t help but feel left out hahah
That is what the whole video is about haha. Depending on your budget I would give a different recommendation but would choose one of the cameras in this video at your budget range
nice prices. but come to Bulgaria and check the Second hand prices. Max 50 us difference between the new one :D So thanks for the advice i Will Buy from ebay

@@nielsschraepen3949by being more of a photographer, you have already made your own decision,go for a6400,the zv-e10 is more on the vlogger/youtuber buyer.
Could you tell me if there is a Small Rig for the Sony Nex 6 camera?
Dude you from Salem?! I recognize that fountain ;)
I Have both the A5100 and the Rx100 M7. How would you use them to get the most out of each?
Can the Sony a73 shoot 4K video? and what’s the best sd card to use for that camera?
Is this model suitable to snap products like furnitures? And use the photo for catalog printing.
what do you think should be my first full frame body? i’m down to jump ship and pick one up but i feel like something on par with my a6300 in the full frame world is so expensive.
I would aim for an A7III on the used camera market. They are as low as $800 on Facebook Marketplace depending on where you live. I also saw an A7II on there for $400 the other day. Great options!
Hi Kraig,
I'm new to the world of photography, looking to buy my first professional camera, really like the a6700 or the fx30, I'm planning to do more photography than video, but i do want a camera to do both.
Please give me your advice.
thanks
Yooo NF at 9:23, Andy Mineo at 11:05, and the 116 shirt at 11:25?! Okay I see you 👀
I am wondering which camera is good for both (photo and video) like hybrid camera. Also, which camera is good for sport photography? Let me know and thank you
Do you recommend canong7x mark ii or Sony rx100 M5?
Nex 5r also has touch focus
Hello bro which camera do you recommend to upgrade from my old nex-f3
I would look at the Sony ZV-E10. It would be a natural transition!
which one would you recommend for shooting beginner music videos?
I would snag something with 4K video. So A7iii, ZV-E10, A6400.
Hey dude
I just wanted to know for videos shooting like reels and UA-cam videos which one is better 1.
Sony full frame any camera WITH KIT LENSE
30mm f4.5 or
2. Sony crop sensor with prime lense (sigma
30mm f1.4) which one is gives us brighter quality??
I would go with a crop sensor and a nice prime lens!
@@kraigpruett for sony zv e10 will make youtube shorts which two lenses you recommend bro?
Between a5100 and any nex series, which better? If nex, can recommend the series? Tq 😊
A5100.
What do you think about a5000 with a 50 mm f1.8 yongnuo for 125 usd for a begginer? Or is it more worth to get a6000 with a kit lens for 248 usd?
This was epic! Thank you! And a quick search on your channel answered what WAS going to be my question which was “… and any tips on 2-3 lenses?” 😅👍🏻
Am going deep next year into the Sony system as we ramp up video in our small biz so I really appreciate you getting us started 👍🏻👍🏻
Happy to help! Reach out anytime!
I have never bought used tech. I am looking for a beginner camera for travel videos to start my you tube channel. How do you make sure that someone is not gonna scam you and send you a defective camera?
How do you color grade ? Please make tutorial to color grade sony without s-log (sony a6000)
Wx350 Sony digital camera is good for beginners?
I found a NEX-3, whats the difference between that one and the 3N?
im seriously thinking about upgrading from my nex5n straight to a 7iii. Here in Czechia the prices are higher even on the used market, its hard to find one under 1300usd in good condition which sucks but it still will be a big upgrade.
You wouldn’t regret it. It’s an outstanding camera.
在中国,只需要8000人民币就可以买到比较好的二手A73
I wish they would have upgraded the RX10 mark IV. Great camera for an all in one bridge camera.
I had the ZV E10 for all of 4 months because I decided to test the waters quite literally and shoot in the beach side and got smacked by a wave 😢 Was able to finally replace it with the A7iii
Is zv e-10 suitable for photography?
100%
First and foremost, amazing video!
I just came here to give flowers for the 116 shirt! UNASHAMED BABBBYYYY
116 for life!! Thanks for the love.
Can we see a comparison between an iPhone 15 pro max and a top of line Sony A6500 camera.
Dont need that, an a6500 would beat it easily
Its probably a stupid question but I wanted to get into photography but If I were to buy one what lens would go with it or how would I know the lens would be compatible
Watch my lens guide here and it will help you out: ua-cam.com/video/q7sL6UKyDrA/v-deo.htmlsi=0Z8bKU9OLibwODH8
(i got for fist a SLT A35 for 75 bucks with 2 lenses, sell the body for 100 bucks and got myself the A65v for only 150 bucks AND ITS AWESOME!)
Buuuuuut i also love cheap E-mount cameras, like Nex 5, i got one for 30 bucks (and with the 18-55) and i kinda like it, so i get a LE EA4 for 50 bucks to adapt my old minolta lenses, and i buy a NEX 6 for 90 bucks, i wait it actuallly, and yours reviews of it is the cause haha!
(i'm also sorry if my english is not very good haha, i'm french so ykyk)
This video is so helpful thank you 😊
You're so welcome!
Would the a6700 be good for music videos being it’s apsc? I’ve been debating between a6700 and a7iii.
Thank you for a very helpful answer! Subscribed ✅
I am complete beginner should I get A6000 or A5100 or zv-e10 and I'm just gonna use them for photos only for now.
Photos only id go for A6000 or ZV-E10
Bro sony zve10 good for beginners cinematic video and which lenses should you prefer me please reply waiting for a good response 😊
I would go for 24-70 mm 2.8 if you're looking for one lens solution...
What ab the a6400?
I don’t know why, but recently I have been drawn to wanting a Sony after using Canon for years and I just bought the new Fuji Xs20, which I love, but when using I am missing focus like no other and just wondering if Sony is the way to go. The people I shoot weddings with all use Sony too and I can’t help but feel left out hahah
Come to the light side :)
I dont know if youve addressed this what camera should i get?
That is what the whole video is about haha. Depending on your budget I would give a different recommendation but would choose one of the cameras in this video at your budget range
@@kraigpruett hmmmm nope i need a definite answer
Please review should I go with a6100 with 15mm lens & 50mm lens
Or a6400 with 15mm lens
Really great video, super helpful, I was just wondering which of these cameras is best suited for landscape photography?
I would get the A7iii off of this list!
I still use my 5100 the only issue for me it over heats some times
Are you in Boise? Can I buy a camera off of you? Pleaseeeee! Starting my UA-cam career 🙏🏽 would really help me out
What do you think about the A7C?
Very very good. Pretty much in line with the A7iii
What cost of sony 7iii there with offer?
I got offered the sony a7riii for around 1k usd, is it worh it?
Hola con que cámara grabas tus videos?
Got lucky with my A6700 and got it for $70!!
What on earth haha
Lol
How bout a6400? Is this goood for begginer?
Yes. 100%.
nice prices. but come to Bulgaria and check the Second hand prices. Max 50 us difference between the new one :D
So thanks for the advice i Will Buy from ebay
Should i go for rx100 m7 or zv e-10 I am a beginner.
I would go for ZV-E10. Gives you room to buy lenses that you can take from body to body over time
