I received this box/chest from my wife for Christmas this year. I highly recommend it. It’s not the most well built box you could possibly own but for the price it’s an excellent choice. I have so much EDC gear & gadgets my wife ordered a different taller one also to go with the box/chest. So my box/chest sits directly on top of the other one it gives me so much more room.

I can't understand a knife collection without a Benchmade 940 or 940-2. Best knives I've ever owned. The pivot lock makes flip opening and closing a breeze.
Bought the Kapara immediately after seeing it here. What a great design. Super excited. Hits so many things that I’ve always wanted knives to have all in one package.

Looks awesome Nick! For christmas I just got one of those off brand pelican cases with the pluck out foam that I am going to use for my knives for now. My knife collection has expanded quickly thanks to you hahaha
I dont have nearly as much. What I found that I like for storage is an old silverware chest. theyre a good size, usually lined with velvet or some other cloth, and often come with a drawer. You can find on Ebay if not unused in a relatives basement or a garage sale.

Unrelated to this video, I ended up buying a delica #4 simply because you use it as a size comparison in your videos and I needed something that I could carry into NJ .... i was happily surprised, I still prefer my 940 but really like the Spyderco as well ! TY !

Like me, you are both watch and knife collector. I dont know why this is, but you see this more often. Maybe we all want to be a James Bond. Watches with lasers or a bezel-saw and equiped with an knife to escape from the most difficult situations. The Seamaster Aqua Terra is a beauty by the way!
EDC box,,,that will take place of my end table and some of my shelves. The wood keeps her classy. I can build one of these to fit my fixed blades. I’m leaning towards a craftsman tool shelf set but this can be used too.
I also like that you carry yours. I normally carry the ones that cost me like 50 bucks or maybe the 940 or para2. My zt's and ferrum forge or others that I spent money on stay home. I splice fiber optics and I'm always afraid of leaving them behind

I have almost the exact same set up, only my machinists box is a cheap harbor freight one.I've got slipjoints, multitools and other knives in the exact same spots though

But I’ve never understood the desire or obsession to wear a watch. That’s why I have a cell phone, right? Works both ways. Hi Nick, I'm new here. Glad I came across you. I'm also a watch collector. It seems a lot of knife collectors are also into watches. I collect rare and vintage watches. I'm also a gun collector, but I shoot every one of them (no safe Queens). I'm not really a knife guy, yet my friends would say differently. I tell them, it's just a part of my gun EDC. Buy, somehow, I seem to have amassed over a dozen and there are about four or five more that I just HAVE to get. I've learned a lot watching you and some of the other smart knife channels. I think I might have gotten the "bug" and I don't mean the Spyderco Lady Bug. Happy New Year!
I got really excited seeing the first 3 watches thinking they would be *affordable* and then i look them up and their 500 and then 3000 dollars. The nicest watch i have is a seiko 100m chronograph.

Step 2 will be using it as the reference in your knife reviews. Incidentally the Chaparral has been my only pocketknife, having since ignored your sage advice to not-get-into-watches. (I'm a slow learner.) (Kidding. I realize the point of using a reference is as a _reference point_, not necessarily as meaning "the best" in a certain category.) Becoming an acoustician was one of my many previous hobbies. In theory. Looking forward to your wooden toolbox reviews from South Bend Lathe, Starrett, and Gerstner etc.
Dr Nick (PHD) I believe he covered some of this in an Ask The Nick video about 18 to 24 months ago. He also taught (college level?) at one time, jazz hands in a classroom.

Those boxes are great for EDC stuff. I use the Harbor Freight version, which I paid 60 bucks for. Spent another 10 bucks or so on improvements.
