- I LOVE THIS VIDEO!
My goal in sharing these adventures is to try and depict what it feels like to be on trail. What the trail looks like, water sources, camp spots, resupply and the people I meet along the way. Of course, I can't help but to share how I’m feeling about the whole experience. Sometimes I admittedly fall short in capturing the moment. After all, I’m not an experienced photographer or videographer.
This video is as close as I have come to capturing the moment - some of the best hiking I’ve ever done! Covers the CT leaving Hwy 50 near the town of Salida, to Lake City. Mile 253.2 to 357.9.
Guitar covers by @KfirOchaion
4 Non-Blondes - What's Up
Beatles - While My Guitar Gently Weeps
Eric Clapton - Tears in Heaven
Original Song by Eldar Kadem - You And Me
Love your hiking videos. Especially your thru hikes. Moon juice, you rock. Such a nice person.
Thanks Steph! 😁
stunning
What an awesome little town
Your videos are truly joyful and spectacular. The vibe is positive and I find myself smiling watching your journey. Thank you for sharing! 🍊
Thank you! Glad you enjoy them. It’s not always easy to capture the vibe of a trail, but the CT was awesome! The trail, the people I met along the way… such a positive experience. Loved it!
Fantastic!
Hi MoonJuice! Congratulations on summiting your first 14er! Spend more time at high altitude and it gets easier. You’re creating lasting memories. Good job.
Thanks PW! Summiting San Luis was definitely a highlight of the whole trail. So happy we got to see the sunrise from what seemed to be the top of the world!
I hope I am as absolutely happy as you appear to be when I do this trail next summer. Exceptional attitude and mindset!
The good news is, it's totally up to you Bill! Hope you have an amazing adventure!
Loved watching your journey!!!
Much love brother
I appreciate that Caster!
Moonjuice = 100% someone you want to meet up with on trail. Best attitude/great hiker and motivating.
Great Job! Definitely an inspiration
It was an amazing experience Doug, I highly recommend it!
Now that was an excellent part 4! Have a great day and keep on moving!✌️
Thanks Tanget, I liked this one too!
Such a cool video! Love the sunrise portion. Pretty damn cool
Me too! My favorite part of the trail was watching the sunrise from what seemed to be the top of the world. Glad I caught it on video!
Empty trail magic coolers 😭 What a beautiful reminder of the trail! Thoroughly enjoyed this, your bromance moments and your dramatic reenactment! Maybe our trails will cross again one day. -Postcard :)
I’m glad you enjoyed it! I’d be really surprised if our paths didn’t cross again. It’s a small world!
I cannot express my gratitude for your videos man! They're like trail soulfood when im stuck inside as the Phoenix summer drags on. I love your vibe, the editing, the music, all your trail magic encounters.
Where do you get the music from? I cant help but picture you by a campfire recording these each night while on the trail
Wow, thanks Dankah! I don’t have a monetized channel, just trying to capture the vibe of the adventure. Sometimes it works, sometimes not so much. Found this guitarist on YT…@KfirOchaion. He’s so good. His acoustic stuff fits in well with the adventure vibe. Check him out.
You seriously lucked out with the weather in the San Juan's. It's been a very stormy year, but you just slid through in the sunshine. I hope the weather holds for you until Durango!
Oh don’t I know it! I was expecting rain every day! I either brought the good weather with me from Arizona, or the good vibes kept the bad weather away - or just dumb luck! 😎
Lake City is one of the greatest places in the US. Miss that place.
Loved it. Next time I roll through, I’m going double zero there.
Your videos of the CO Tr have been amazing! You have captured the beautiful scenery like no other. Loving every minute of it. The songs included. What month did you hike the trail? For the most part your weather has looked pretty good. Doesn't seem that you encountered a lot of the afternoon thunder storms. Happy Trails...Winkle
Hey Winkle - thanks! I'm enjoying these videos as well, awesome way to never forget the experience. I left June 24th, under the impression it would rain every afternoon. As you can see, that didn't happen. Basically, perfect weather! I did do the CE rather than CW due to deep snow lingering in June....
After all your time hiking and providing trail magic on the AZT you don't drink cow water? 🙂 you hooked me up with some sodas and pizza during my NOBO of the AZT about 10 miles south of Mormon Lake in 2022 - Thank you!!
LOL! C’mon, I’ve had enough cow water… I avoid it like, well, cow water…🤢 Are you hitting the CT this year Robert?
Not this year - shoulder surgery then 6 months of PT. Hopefully I will get back to the trail in 2027. Either the CT, Oregon section of the PCT, or the Oregon Desert Trail. I will need at least a year to figure that out 🤣
Nice...
When did you start this trip? Just curious because the weather and snow levels seemed perfect
I started June 24th. It was a high snow year in winter 2022/2023. This year, I'd probably leave a week or two later in hopes of finding a good weather window. I really did luck out, it was basically perfect every day!
