Accurate interesting fact deserves upvote.
That's a great point. I remember hearing initially that he was going to star as Deadpool in his own movie and thinking it would be a disaster. Happy to have been totally wrong.
In his defense, Deadpool at the beginning of the movie is fucking awesome
Now they just need to reboot Green Lantern so he can do it again.
Xmen Origins Wolverine is a rare case where the videogame based on the movie is better than the movie itself
Wish the origin game was the movie :p
And also unlike the movie, the Gambit boss fight is badass in that game. Honestly, the fight between Gambit and Wolverine could have been awesome if they didn't make it so stupid!
And there was a fricking sentinel as a boss fight!

Dark Phoenix: Hold My Beer
This is better than the other Wolverine movies.
Dark Phoenix at least had good action scenes with Hans Zimmer's amazing score and some pretty good acting
@@daboi8734 I Guess You're Right, Maybe I'll Give a Second Chance
I liked X-men Origins: Wolverine better than The Wolverine (the one where he went to Japan) he got "poisoned" and was and total punk. Looked so weak. At least Sabertooth was bad ass.
Dark Phoenix is by far the worst, only good part was the train sequence.
Overall these are the worst 3 X-men movies. With Last Stand and Apocalypse being the next worst.
Nah Origins is still worst one in series. At least Dark Phoenix had some good things about it. Something that Origins doesn't have.
Editing in the mid credits scene from Deadpool 2 was genius. Part of me knew it was coming, but that didn't make it any less satisfying.
It was perfect wasn't it?
Yeah, Reinolds totally got his redemption by that. I love how even one of the main cast considered this movie pure shite

@@DHynes5 Definitely the best. You could argue that Mega Man is their best one but DMC is the most awesome one.
Wolverine's real name isn't logan its James Howlett hence jimmy
The name logan is the name he adopts after losing his memory
Probably for the best. No one would take him seriously if people still called him Jimmy.
Logan > Jimmy
Whenever I need to refer to wolverine pre adamadium I always call him james or jimmy. This is because he never became wolverine until the weapon X procedure. After that james howlett died and logan, the wolverine was born.
I do the same thing for batman. After his parents death bruce Wayne died and after training, batman was born. I always refer to batman as batman even when he is out as bruce he is still batman. The last time he was really bruce was as an 8 year old boy and as a man about to become batman.
Yes. That's why Doug calls him Jimmy.
The best part of this movie is, hands down, Liev Schreiber as Victor Creed/Sabretooth. I know nothing of the comics or what he's like in them but Liev Schreiber is a god and I would love an X-Men: Origins: Sabretooth movie with Liev Schreiber returning as Victor. I want it so badly. He's the perfect blend of terrifying and sexy, and will always be far more intimidating to me than any other X-Men movie villain I've ever seen, including Original Magneto, Sir Ian McKellen.
Also Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson, who was so incredible and pushed so hard that he got his own movie where Deadpool was honored the way he should've been.
Also, you say that despite being an 'origin' movie, we never see how things change, but the credits show very clearly how Victor changes. Over the course of the war montage, we see Victor grow more callous, vicious, and overall, more psychopathic, coalescing in Logan trying to stop him from killing several soldiers that are on 'their' side, before quickly deciding when they're surrounded that he's going to have his brothers back. It's theorized, as it's never stated outright in the film, that Victor grew cold and desensitized to death and murder because he spent a century enduring it, that it's a form of PTSD, which Logan also shows signs of, mostly in the form of his nightmare where he accidentally cuts Kayla.
We see Logan change as well, seeing him and Victor grow further apart as Logan holds onto his humanity and Victor slips deeper and deeper into his feral side. This coalesces in being part of Task Force X and Logan seeing just how willing to kill Victor is, regardless of how innocent the people may be. This reaffirms his decision to leave everything behind, he's done fighting, and more importantly, he's done KILLING. He's done giving into his feral side, or as this movie labels it, his 'animal'. Victor relishes in his feral side but Logan still thinks of him as his brother and so asks him, after stating he's leaving, if Victor will come with him. This is Logan giving Victor a chance to change, to let go of the violence, and come back to humanity; Victor refuses. He makes it perfectly clear that he thoroughly enjoys the work he's doing, the slaughter of innocent people, and that he feels betrayed that Logan would just walk away, which is reaffirmed later when John even states that Victor grew worse after Logan left, as Victor felt that Logan abandoned him.
My point is that for all of the movies faults, it has it's moments that are actually really good and the relationship between Logan and Victor is one of my favorites.
Very well said and I agree.
*critic laughs at the name jimmy*

Doug's dad as Stan Lee is the best thing I've seen today.

The reason wolverine looks older in Logan is because it’s revealed that the adamantium on his bones is slowly poisoning him as a result it slows his healing factor
Does that explain why he aged before? Wouldn't his healing factor keep him as a newborn? Or did his mutant powers not fully develop until he reached adulthood and then be able to regenerate at a cellular level? I honestly don't know, it's been years since I've read the comics or seen the movies.
@@7MukuroRealm the healing factor slows his aging once he hits 30 I think.
@@7MukuroRealm The logic is that as he grows from a kid into an adult, he's, well, growing. His cells haven't started to deteriorate yet. It doesn't prevent him from growing, it only prevents the bad things about aging.
@@7MukuroRealm generally speaking, mutant powers dont manifest until adolescence, and even then, Wolverines regeneration would keep him at peak physical condition as long as it could, hence why hes roughly 150 years old in the first movie, but is physically in his 30s
I thought it was because that Japanese old guy siphoned off his marrow and that greatly reduced his healing powers. That is where he started aging in the movies anyway.

5:50 Doug, they do show how Sabretooth gets his bloodlust in the opening credits, even if it is kinda rushed. Every war whittled down their humanity with every kill they made. Victor couldn't handle killing so many people, so he just eventually gave into the thrill of killing. Logan was able to keep a lid on his extreme emotions and keep some semblance of his humanity. They display that when they showed that shot of Logan trying to get Sabretooth to stop wildly shooting that mounted machine gun in Vietnam
8:05 you ask why cant he tell the difference between a real killing and the fake one they put togther ... its becuase shes touching him, she makes all those details seem real to him she has him believe what she wants. or at least thats what i hope is happening
Well, at least the development and chemistry between Wolverine and Saber Tooth was better than the original X-Men movie! (Even if it's only by default)
The interesting part is that the writer and creator of the Wolverine Origins comic actually planned for Sabretooth and Wolverine to be father and son. This revelation never came to fruition and writers later on took it out by having Shield conduct genetic tests on them confirming them to be unrelated.
Your Favorite Canadian UA-camr, Eh! Did you read the X2 comic prequel? It has Wolverine and Sabretooth actually talk to each other in a jet plane and turns out sabretooth lost his memory as well and leaves to look for answers which is why he never appears again in the movies... bleh

Do they actually say Wade has a mutant ability in this film? Because if they just picked up some random mercenary off the street that was really skilled that would probably be more intimidating.
Striker: What do you do?
Sabertooth: I am an feral mutant with fast healing
Wolverine: Same thing but with bone claws
Wade: Oh, I'm not a mutant. But I can make minute rice in 58 seconds
Lol you got me with the minute rice joke
NANI 58 seconds = 1 minute?
Since I’m Chinese, he’d be the guy I pay the most
Iirc he wasn't born with powers in the comics, he was chosen to the Weapon X project as a human test subject that would receive a copy of Wolverine's power, since he had an inoperable brain cancer and had a very short life expectancy. So I assume he was just supposed to be a normal mercenary here too that later got mutant powers transferred to him somehow so it's.. a little bit accurate to the source material???
Wade Wilson is a mutant with super-reflexes in this version hence his bullet-bouncing-(adamantium?)-swords routine.
I was waiting...ever so patiently for that Deadpool scene where actual Deadpool just interfered and killed the other one to be referenced and you being the absolute madman, did not fail to deliver.
Well done.
Knocked out, not dead.
@@strenuousspider9525 No I would suggest watching that scene from the Deadpool movie again man.
He straight up murdered him. Even got a few more shots in on that Deadpool's corpse before he left.
@@anthonydeadman good thing too making him into a block of cheese
16:10 "I'm going to cut your goddamn head off" "okay that's step 1, what about 2 through 10"
