@@xavierramirez1911funnily enough, this is actually canon. After Magneto stripped Wolverine's adamantium, he became bigger and more animalistic because adamantium poisoning didn't hold him back anymore.
Wolverine and Sabertooth have been implied to be related for more than 40 years of comcis. whether its step brothers, balf brothers, cousins etc. But Sabertooth being Wolverines dad is a retarded idea
I recently watched origins and I have to say that despite all its issues it is very fascinating in a way. In the way that I find Catwoman fascinating, there is something so interesting in the era they came out in. Its really hard to explain but the filmmaking and story are so dated they are so much fun.
While I’ve always liked XMen origins: Wolverine, I can recognize its flaws (I think Filmento covers most of it well). But Liev Schreiber absolutely killed the role of Sabertooth, and he became my favorite villain after that movie. His whole character from his behavior to his lines to his style are all so badass and I’ve wanted to cosplay him since I was a kid, I just can’t grow the sideburns fully yet 😆
Logan and Sabertooth being brothers makes even more sense because in the comics Logan is to him a replacement for the little brother he abused since he is a sadist and after so many years of being chased by him there is a certain bond to them
Schreiber's Sabertooth was the single highlight of that dumpster fire of a movie. If they had made Origins solely about Logan and Creed's rivalry it would've been infinitely better but they decided to easter egg the ish out of it and the movie suffered for it.
Sabertooth as Wolverine's brother just adds to birthday hunts. On one hand, you have this dude who's so petty that he goes out of his way to remember your birthday and hunt you down each year because you share the same power. On the other, you have an annoying older brother who shows up on your birthday every year just to "lil bro" you.
It improves the characters in every way having them be brothers, imo. And Liev really breathed new life into the character and made him actually scary due to his cunning intelligence and outright evilness.
Damn. I'm disappointed too. The Sabretooth from the first film isn't the Sabretooth I know from the comics. Liev Schreiber's take on the character was FAR more recognizable as the character.
I only found out Cassandra Nova exists a few days ago, completely unrelated to Deadpool and Wolverine, and now i find out she's going to be the villain in the movie. That's a neat coincidence
My favorite part for sure was the opening war sequence. But I also loved how we saw little bits of Origins in the Days of Future Past scene in Logan’s mind, like his claws getting broken. That movie is great because it builds on all of the movies, even using the bad ones.
I recall part of Lievs inspiration for his performance was large cats at the zoo, he said about looking into their eyes and knowing their predatory instinct, a look of ‘if it weren’t for these bar you’d be dead’ I’d say he completely portrayed that feeling, he looks so damn predatory and hungry
Sabretooth was the best part of this film. In the comics he’s one of the few villains that really unnerved me (is anybody remembers the Deadpool, Weapon X storyline, you know what moment I’m talking about). And Schreiber perfectly incapsulated that version. More so than nearly any live-action Marvel or DC villain, you can VERY easily believe he’d do the most monstrous actions on the planet with the smile on his face. I even LOVED Wade Wilson (pre-Weapon XI), as it’s probably the only time we’ll get to see Ryan Reynolds play the sadistic supervillain Deadpool he was in his earlier comic appearances. Those smiles Wade & Victor give before massacring the African village always make start to snicker with unease. Despite still being hilarious, I’ve never seen Ryan be so creepy
My only regret about the upcoming MCU X-Men is that the Fox cast (except Kelsey Grammer thanks to CGI Beast) will never get the chance to do their characters justice.
Ik a lot of people have a problem with it but I LIKE that Logan and Victor are brothers because it actually helps makes MORE SENSE for their feud/ rivalry
I agree that Wolverine's memory being lost as something that had to happen because of continuity as opposed to being a foundation to his character was kind of a shame. It would have been interesting if Wolverine volunteered for the Weapon X program to intentionally lose his memory. Maybe years of war, depression, PTSD and loved ones passing as he lived took a toll on his mental state and he takes Strykers offer to rid him of his memories because suicide isn't an option. It would explain why in the sequels Professor X denies telling him about his past. It's not that he can't find his memories, it's that he knows they were lost for a reason.
My friends still laugh at me, but I don't care, I love this movie's rendition of Gambit! They can't get over the really bad editing of the fight scene (how'd he suddenly get all the way up on the rooftops?!), but that's hardly the actor's fault, he did what he was supposed to do, capture the essence of Remy LeBeau, and did it great! Assuming he still looks the same and is available, I'd love to see him come back for more under MCU control (I can't believe people wanted to see Van Damme as Gambit just because he speaks French, come on...)
A couple of things: Totally agree that Liev Schreiber should have returned somewhere in Logan. The haircut of the clone that killed Professor X in Logan showed me that at least someone thought as well about Sabretooth for a minute for the final Wolverine movie. I also kind of hope that Liev Schreiber and Taylor Kitsch might return somewhere in the new Deadpool movie or somewhere down the line as Sabretooth and Gambit once again. They both were right for their roles. They just happened to be surrounded by a movie that was absolutely, utterly shit.
Its a shame we never got to see Liev Scheiber back in the role over the yrs. One of my favourite x men characters and he became that in one of the worst movies lol
First it was the importance of dogs in the John Wick movies, then it was Ilsa Faust being the coolest character of the Mission Impossible franchise, and now it's how awesome and underrated Liev Schreiber is as Sabertooth. I'm not so sure I like agreeing with Full Fat Videos this often.
A Wolverine tv series based on his origins and his time throughout the different wars with Sabartooth serving as his arch nemisis and the bane of his existence. Having similar vibes to the classic monster movies such as Frankansteins Monster, The Wolfman and Dracula (with a more upbeat modern adaptation ofc). Now thats something I would want to watch.
Here I was yesterday thinking about how awesome this portrayal was in that movie. Great video. I’m just crossing my fingers for Liev to appear somewhere in Deadpool and Wolverine
Liev Schreiber is definitely my all-time favorite Sabertooth. He was truly menacing in the light blub guy's trailer, ferocious during the wars and great acting throughout. I really like the first half of that movie, after Wolverine gets the adamantium the wheels fall off, but Liev saved what he could. I'd love to see him in DP3 but if he doesn't fit maybe Director Colcord's Weapon X would. I know, kinda pie in the sky thinking but stranger things have happened
If I am not mistaken, at one time, was it not the actual process of being fused with the adamantium that had messed his memory up? The pain and healing process drove him crazy, and hence, feral. That makes WAY more sense than..what we got. That said, this version of Sabertooth was freaking epic, if most of the rest of the movie was terrible. I want more of his Sabertooth and have wanted it from the moment I finished the movie. Also wanted more of Ryan as Deadpool....and at least that happened!
It has always been clear to me that Wolverine and Sabertooth were meant to he related in some way but no writer could actually commit to it anf the mystery had beem built up so much they decided to "subvert" it by revealing there IS no relation.
It was awesome seeying Tyler Mane's Sabertooth back in D&W. But it was sad not seeying Liev Schreiber's Sabertooth. The simple idea of watching his Sabertooth briefly go against (say) Laura, would have mindblowing.
Origins holds a weird place in my mind. I was not a fan of X1 and X2 when they came out, so I was already used to things being wrong by the time X3 and Origins came out and just enjoyed the ride of the good bits they had (for X3, I actually liked how they handled Phoenix besides Scott getting shafted). Even with a lowered bar, Origins didn't have much going for it, but I liked the little "arc" Deadpool had of being Stryker's ideal soldier and getting lobotomized to better fit that role (as well as it being just one more inhumane thing Stryker did to people he served with to add to the bleakness of the ending) and Schrieber's Sabretooth was GOLD! The opening credits PERFECTLY set up Sabretooth's trademark bloodlust and disregard for life without needing a single word and his personality was just spot-on for the brutal, but cunning sociopath who enjoys every bit of harm he causes others. It boggles my mind that I didn't start liking the X-Movies until First Class, but Sabretooth was PERFECTED in the series' uncontested low-point.
I personally love Liev Schreiber version of the Sabertooth even before I read the comic, I don't dislike Tyler Mane's version and I think he did look the part and play his role in the movie pretty well, but Liev Schreiber's version is just more superior, able to both scary and funny, have an interesting back story, rivalry and connection with Wolverine, and being a legit threat, I only wish we could get a version of Sabertooth have Tyler Mane's version design but with Liev Schreiber's version personality, terror and threat.
@@FullFatVideos A friend of mine lent me his copy after we saw the film, he was going on about how much better it is & he wasn’t lying, it’s such a cool game. I eventually bought the Uncaged Edition for myself & I always have a blast any time I go back & replay it.
Sabretooth is a top 10 SuperVillain in the Marvel Universe. Sabretooth is one of the few street level villains tht defeats Batman in a random encounter, no prep or knowledge
I like to imagine that Sabretooth took maybe some MGH between Origins and 2000, which explains the way he is. He wanted to prove he was better than Wolverine. He couldn't get the Adamantium. He chose to enhance his mutation, instead. To amplify it. At the cost of what remaining humanity he had. And from that, Liev Schreiber turned into Tyler Mane
Why do people think this movie was terrible? Its homestly one of my favorite x men movies.. just because of the deadpool villain? He was an op villain and it made sense . I guess it makes sense if this was the mainline story and your a deadpool fanboy but its bascially an alternative timeline now so whats the issue?
Liev Shriber was comic accurate as his character looked exactly like that in the comics at the time. He's also the correct height as Tyler Mane is actually too tall.

Wolverine and Sabertooth have been implied to be related for more than 40 years of comcis. whether its step brothers, balf brothers, cousins etc. But Sabertooth being Wolverines dad is a retarded idea
I mean we already know who Wolverine's dad actually is so.
@@adambump5297 is it Thomas Logan?
@@KazzKobbyes
I recently watched origins and I have to say that despite all its issues it is very fascinating in a way. In the way that I find Catwoman fascinating, there is something so interesting in the era they came out in. Its really hard to explain but the filmmaking and story are so dated they are so much fun.
A supperhero film that tried not to look like a superhero film
It was good
While I’ve always liked XMen origins: Wolverine, I can recognize its flaws (I think Filmento covers most of it well).
Imagine if they had made a movie solely focused on Logan and Victor as brothers rather than just being another part of a larger story such as Origins.
Liev Schreiber's Sabertooth actually felt like a threat, not just a mindless grunt
That movie also showed us how great Ryan Reynolds is at portraying Wade Wilson, though we wouldn't get a proper Deadpool until 2016
@@Richtofen-gy9cjAnd gave us the greatest frienemy relationship since Prof X and Magneto: Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds.
Ugh, Logan vs Sabertooth in DP3. What a lackluster fight.
At least it wasn't Liev Schreiber.
I mean that was kind of the point of the joke
Based on what happened to sabertooth, I’m glad they used the version they went with 🙏
Glad? They did nothing with him?
@@Karma-pq9fi that’s the point. If they killed the preferred sabertooth in 5 secs of screen time that would’ve been way more disappointing.
13:54 Well, Logan does not technically take place in the same universe as X-1, since it is set in the failed utopia we see at the end of DoFP.
X-Origins Wolverine is not a bad movie, it is a comedy, and I love it for everything it has to offer lol.
This was my first time ever seeing sabretooth. Never knew that they originally weren’t brothers
X-men origins is underrated idc what people say
Schrieber is honestly the only thing I remember from the movie.
That, and the video game.
I recall part of Lievs inspiration for his performance was large cats at the zoo, he said about looking into their eyes and knowing their predatory instinct, a look of ‘if it weren’t for these bar you’d be dead’
I’d say he completely portrayed that feeling, he looks so damn predatory and hungry
" scream for me." "You owe me a scream" are the most horrifying and sabertooth lines ever.
Fun fact: They were gonna make Sabertooth we saw in first X-Men film as clone Sabertooth in Origins Wolverine before they scrapped.
Both sabertooth and Gambit were quite good in that movie
Kind of crazy that he was only in one movie tbh. His performance was so good I didn't realise it was only one. Now that's aura baby
I thought they implied that Sabertooth was his half brother in the Wolverine: Origins comic. Or, did I misremember that?
Ever since disney bought fox ive grown to miss the Fox X-Men movies
You don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone!
@@FullFatVideos yes very true man
It’s mad how some of the worst X men movies still have some absolute gold in them that make them watchable like Quicksilver
My only regret about the upcoming MCU X-Men is that the Fox cast (except Kelsey Grammer thanks to CGI Beast) will never get the chance to do their characters justice.
This Victor's personality with the appearance of Sabretooth in the first X-Men live action film=Perfection.
Ik a lot of people have a problem with it but I LIKE that Logan and Victor are brothers because it actually helps makes MORE SENSE for their feud/ rivalry
Leiv Schreiber was the perfect Sabertooth and should've returned
I don't care what people say about this movie, hearing Logan scream out of anger saying "VICTOORRRRR" never gets old.
This made me nostalgic for x men origins of all films, just to see more of Schreiber’s Sabertooth 🙃
"Im sure he and wolverine are gonna have a satisfying throwdown on screen again"
Well that aged like milk
You say it as if it’s my fault
@@FullFatVideos just commenting on the irony is all
@@FullFatVideosNo he fucking didn't. He's just saying it didn't happen.
Bros gon be mad as hell he sees what happens to Sabretooth😭😭😭.
It’s not this Sabertooth so I don’t care hahaha
Leiv Schreiber is certainly the sexiest Sabertooth, dayum. He should come back, 100%.
Ayo phase
ditto
A couple of things:
Totally agree that Liev Schreiber should have returned somewhere in Logan.
Wolverine and Sabertooth as Mario and Luigi pleases me in ways I can’t explain.
Its a shame we never got to see Liev Scheiber back in the role over the yrs. One of my favourite x men characters and he became that in one of the worst movies lol
Daniel Radcliffe, IDK when you became a UA-camr, but I respect your career decision and your effort on this vid.
After seeing Deadpool & Wolverine, the Tyler Mane version was definitely the one to use for that movie
Also just to add on, towards the finale you can have Wolverine finally joining the x men
Here I was yesterday thinking about how awesome this portrayal was in that movie. Great video. I’m just crossing my fingers for Liev to appear somewhere in Deadpool and Wolverine
I hope so!
It's a fine short Wolverine film if you turn it off when he jumps down the waterfall.
😂😂😂
It's not that bad
@@Agentsmithwasright There is just so much nonsense in the 3rd act.
I wanted Omega Red in a movie but his weakness is extreme cold but that would require Iceman or Storm to help Wolverine fight him.
Sabertooth: once a year, it's on sight.
Bro, that 5 second music loop though. 🥶
Liev Schrieber does NOT get the love he deserves and in my personal opinion his sabertooth was the best version ever
Tyler Mane as Sabretooth from X-Men 1 is iconic in my opinion
Man. That sabretooth cameo.....could have been a lot more 😂 Damn shame
Why was the head tilt cringe? Aside from sabertooth, Gambit was the second best part of this movie
You know X-Men Origins: Wolverine is especially bad when the movie tie in game by Raven Software is So Much Better.
I’ve been wanting to do a video on this before the new movie is out!!!

Liev did a great role for sabertooth. I would love for him to return
Liev Schrieber will always be Sabretooth to me
I was genuinely terrified of this Sabretooth as a kid ngl. I’ll never not see him as this version.
Sabretooth is a top 10 SuperVillain in the Marvel Universe. Sabretooth is one of the few street level villains tht defeats Batman in a random encounter, no prep or knowledge
I disagree
I fell in love with this version of character. Feeling that he will not in the upcoming movie is unpleasant
I get why people don't like this movie, but as a casual fan, I like it quite a bit for what it's trying to do.
I’ve always liked origins. Besides deadpool
Ngl I want to see xmen origin version of sabertooth fight his variants
He would own
Typically every bad movie, has one good thing about it
Worse part is that Schreiber said multiple times that he would be all for a comeback, shame that it never happened
I appreciate the writing of these video. A lot of comic videos tend to be rambly and often stray off topic. I felt like you did a good here
Liev Shriber was comic accurate as his character looked exactly like that in the comics at the time. He's also the correct height as Tyler Mane is actually too tall.
