That’s an excuse. WHy don’t they do like every other company and let the user add their own password.Comcast just wants to make a quick buck out of us by having the user pay every single time for a technician to come out. It’s business. Just a way for them to make more money.
Rick's Tech Talk that still doesn’t take away from the fact that they can send you the code and leave it specific to your account. That’s like calling the company that made your phone every time you want to unlock it. That’s very inconvenient.
Rick's Tech Talk All I here is excuses. The owner/one paying the bill should keep the code to his/herself. And like I said, leave it specific to the users account. That’s like that if I need to add a fingerprint to my iPhone, I need to call every time. Stupid excuses.
The only option I need it for is to add a sensor, but oh well. Like you said people were jacking up their system and generating false alerts. That ends up causing Comcast money because they have to send out techs to fix what people break. Furthermore folks that are technically competent suffer.
I used the code because I used to be a tech before I left. Changed the count down for arming away. I need to change it back and I don't want to pay for a tech visit 😔
I thought you know the new access code to get into the home security portal but, oh well... Thanks anyway for telling us the access code 4321 is gone which we already knew!
I used to sell this product and they do not tell us these things. Like I know all of its capabilities. pricing and things likes that. As of now, they have XH2.0 which they sell 3 equipment packs paid for upfront or over 24months, after that's paid off you own all of equip including the home hub(tablet). They do offer Xh SIk (self-install kit) buts it's only for customers who are already set up and are ordering like an extra cam or sensor. other than that we have to schedule a tech.. I know before customers were only "renting" the home hub (tablet) and now they are owning it., I am curious if they still keep this private after the customer owns it. I hope it's not locked like this still.
I think they said you can call in now if you own it to make changes
GREAT INFORMATION!! 1 stupid question- I just had the new comcast home secuty system installed -- I noticed on the CONTROL PAD there is a camera.. Could the tech or comcast use this camera to make live streams or >>?? I cant find any info on this camera option .. i would like to use it if possible to do my own streams>
thanks

This type of customer abuse is the reason I refuse to do any business with Comcast and any predecessors, all they have done is make it harder and more costly for the end user. I have worked for Time Warner in the past as a consultant.
We just had a technician come out and messed up our alarm settings. I wish I could fix it myself. Is there a way a customer can do this, or does it require a technician to enter his own 6 digit code? He also said we can’t have the same settings on 2 different modes. That doesn’t make sense. We want night mode to activate the motion sensors, but if we do that Away mode won’t, according to the tech. 🤔
I would have them send another tech. Or call in and say you want to remove a sensor. They will walk you through the steps to remove the sensor and just write the code down, it should be good for the day. As for the motions, they normally work in away only but can be changed to interior follower arm night. That will make them work in away and night. And you can pick what motions are set for interior follower arm night. In most cases, the basement motion is used as interior follower arm night if no one sleeps down there. Good luck
I change to my personal modem....cameras wont connect???
Can you run this system on a non xfinity internet now in 2022?
Yes it can run on any internet provider. If they say you have to have xfinity internet then talk to another person lol. Some people just have no clue what they are selling.
@@Ricks_Tech_Talk Thanks, I am having trouble connecting it to my new home. I guess I either need to get a professional to install it or figure out a way to get into the settings. When I try to connect to a new network it just spins for hours and never does anything. Thanks again for the reply.
@@KBradAdams Make sure your WiFi name and password don't have any spaces or special characters in them, or it won’t work.
how do i order the new system?
good info
What if my touchpad is no.longer connected to my provider can I still connect my cameras and view on touch pad
For anyone asking. You can call Xfinity and they will help walk you through connecting to your new home network. They will give you the correct pass phrase.
Do you work for Xfinity?
