    I just got Xfinity home security. The pricing is pretty good with a contract. The equipment is functional and easy to use. The touch pad has backup power and uses a cell connection so even if you lose power and internet you are still monitored. I had an out-dated hard wired system. The only downside I see so far is you have to have an installer come out to add additional sensors.

      kyle pitts Yes you can, as long the wiring is still good. It would be considered a take-over.

    The Water Sensor is not new it's been available for years (general market since 2002, not sure exact year from Xfinity). And the new screen has the same functionality as the "old" screen, just a diffrent look, software is the same, no other benefits. Standard install package is 3 door/window sensors and a motion, a keypad and the TS, Cams are 99.95-199.95 per, door sensors are about 39.95-49.95 each addtl. depending if you get 1, 3 or 5 pack. and the 24/7 is 9.95 per cam per month after you purchase the cam (see the price i posted before), Also the service centers have little to no training or accurate information on Xfinity home. Oh, and just get a 2.4ghz jammer (ebay) and the sensors will be defeated, Sensors only check in every 20mins, so depending on timing the system won't realize they are gone for up to 20mins, and even if alarm goes off due to Communication failure, COPS (the monitoring company) ignores to alarm as they see its a comm fail, and its chalked up to being a dead battery.

      Napsterbater actually the two touchscreens are now the same but the new screen has a police icon where is the old one had an actual button that on the old platform would pull up three panic icons the new one only supports the new platform and the newpolice icon but now the old touchscreens have the same platform there's only a police panic

    • @napsterbater
      @napsterbater 7 років тому

      Both New and Old Touchscreens (running the new UI if they have received the update) have identical UIs. the Old TS also have the on screen panic in the bottom left on the screen, but they of course still can use the red physical button they also have. they do the same thing. The Menus and UI on both are identical in every way (again if an old unit has gotten the update). There is no functional difference between the two except New one has only a home button compared to the old one have Home, Options(unused really), back and Panic. Only other difference in the look/color of the case and such. Otherwise no real benefits of one over the other.

      @napsterbater 7 років тому

      TEch Talk, The old screens (TCA200/203) allows for the Icam2 and xcam to be viewed at 720p on the TS itself, no need for the new TS, as I posted above, both run identical UIs, and have identical features.

      The new touch screen is bs. Why would lower the chimes on the touch screen Then they tell that is loud as it can go.or they will say it is software issue

    One thing to know is that there is a dual connection to monitoring. One is through your home internet connection, and another through cellular SIM card that is installed in the panel. Not let any sleazy reps from ADT tell you otherwise.

    xfinity home is a big joke. try to power down the Xfinity touchscreen keypad (unplug it and pull out the back up battery) there will be no door chimes anymore. This means that if someone took that keypad the system would be dead and the battery life is only (approximately) 15 minutes if the power went out. That means in a case of a power outage or if someone cut the power to the house, "they" will have full access to your house without any alarm sounding after 15 minutes! and, since all connected wirelessly, go ahead cut the wire for the internet from the outside of the house.. that will disable the whole system in a second. don't fall for all these bullshits that comcast telling you. total garbage! I was stuck for 3 years with their garbage systems (it was my biggest mistake!).

      I would like to point out a few errors in your comment
      1. Why would you pull out your battery and wall adaptor? XH Technician clearly states on installation of the system that you should not unplug your adaptor for more than 45 sec or central monitor station will call you to inform that in fact your touchscreen is unplugged
      1A. battery life of touchscreen is actually 7hrs. the 15min you left it off the adaptor it went into provision mode and is waiting for XH call center to power it back on from there HUB .
      2. Yes it the system does rely on Wifi to function just like any other wireless system but just like most systems the touchscreen comes with a SIM CARD and has CELLULAR capabilities, in the event you do get a "power Cut" your touchscreen will convert to cellular for 7hr until the battery dies.
      3. Doing any of the following things you mention in your comment will automatically trigger Comcast central monitor station. At that point they call in order of your emergency contacts before calling the police and afterwards.

      Boomcaboose thanks for correcting this, the funny thing is, I've had comcast security home system for over 3 years. during those times, multiple occasions that I did test and none of the security central ever called me.. I unplugged, disconnected my Wi-Fi (doing all those things I've mentioned) for a day.. did comcast central monitor ever called me? Nope. the only time they called me when there's a false alarm (accidently forgot to disarm the system). you asked why would I unplugged the screen? because I want to move it somewhere closer and also would like to know if I can depend on this Comcast home security system. however, you might be correct about the lifespan of the battery, my device was either defective or out to date.. regardless, I much more happy without having Comcast service in my house and the most importantly is I don't have to deal with them anymore as we all know they're notorious about ripping off customers. Regards.
