    Sir common na ginagamit na 2x6 na tubular hallow section ang ginagamit na beam ang joist sa pilipinas. Baka pwede nyo kami mabigyan ng sample computation ng ganitong case. Salamat

    Sir pwede ho ba kayong gumawa ng isa pang load calculation yung may chb wall na kasama? like at C2 and C3 na column.Meron ho isang video mo pero at C1 lng at walang cbh wall involved.

    Sir pwd ba gamitin steel beam ang tubular 2x6x20 sa distance ng post na 18ft. Bubong lang ang papasanin

    Thank sir for the nice presentation and topic.. Question Lang sir about sa location shear plane ng Bracket do we still need to check the angle bar capacity at the location of the weakest point due to opening of holes( 250mm - (16+2)) = 214 mm thank sir And God bless.

    Magandang buhay po engr.. sir, baka pwd pong humingi ng advice kung anong specs po ng ibeam ang dapat gamitin sa planu ko pong project 2nd floor po. 6mtr x 4mtr po agwat sa bawat poste po kc.. bali 6mtr x 8mtr po ang total area po. sa taas po wala dalawang cr lang ang gagamitan ng CHB. the rest po eh wall cladding na.slmat po.. more power!😊

    Gud Pm engr. Ano po ang ilalagay sa ilalim ng baseplate na nakapatong po sa pedestal column para kumapit ang baseplate?

      Non shrink grout nilalagay sa gap between baseplate and concrete pedestal. Thanks

    Hi Engr.. Pwede magtanong... Pano po pag ganya ang design simply supported pero pag dating sa site is.. bolted at welded kasama ang flange ?may nakita ako pag ganon is moment connection na or fixed supported na ang connection.
    Follow up question.. If kung weld or bolt ba ang boung section ng I beam or H beam.. sa pagkuha nang moment wl^2/12 po ba yung sa fixed connection?

      That's fine, If you analyze it as simply supported you are in a safe size. WL^2/8 > WL2/12

    Good dy Engr. It seems that your computations in bracket and plates are based on your perspective and experience as a designer/engr, acceptable po ba yan sa exams or base po ba yan sa code?       You are absolutely right.
      However, codes are changing or updating frequently but not the theory and the actual experience. What I am sharing is for someone who believes in the theory and what has been proven in real life, if anyone is about to take the board examination, I suggest that they should learn first what it says in the book and the latest code.     anong book po ang gamit ninyo sir for structural steel reference? at baka pwede din po kayo gumawa ng beam design for structural aluminum po. salamat

      There is no single reference I just wrote down important formulas in my notes from various books. About structural aluminum, the approach is the same as steel you just need to determine yield strength of such material and analyze its resistance by getting moment-of-inertia of such section to be designed. Let me see if I can make one in the future.

      Normally it depends on the column to column distance, seldom by building height.
      But generally, just to give you a tentative idea, size plays around 150mmx400mm or 200x350 I-beam(unit wt. ranges from 26 - 32kg/m) for a 4mx4m slab panel.
