Engr. Tanong ko lang po... pwede kaya ang I-beam gawing column at d na gagamit nga base plate ipakain lang sa buhos nang pedestal? 1 storey lang po gagawin.

@@mugiwarasensei2558 I never tried it but for one storey maybe its possible. Make sure it reaches top of footing, then provide enough concrete cover on pedestal. Thanks for watching!

A steel column is fixed at the bottom and hinged at the top. There is no sideways ano po gagamitin natin Iy or Ix

Yes you can combine steel pipe with concrete, we call it composite column design. But you should provide an adequate concrete cover around rebars that holds them, min. cover is the same as we use in regular rc column design. Thanks
