Made in FL Studio with Patcher (only stock plugins)!
Spacer is actually one of the very first patches I designed. I edited it a few times though and now here it is. Trackspacer by Wavesfactory is one of my favorite mixing plugins: it sounds good and it's straight to the point. I usually use it to make the vocal or some instrument poke out from the mix a bit (attenuating another instrument) while keeping a natural feel. You can of course re-create this effect manually using a dynamic EQ with an external sidechain function (there are free ones out there, like TDR Nova for example), but the fact that Trackspacer is ready to go as soon as you load it's awesome for the workflow. Also, it's a pretty cheap plugin, I got it for $20 during a sale: it was a steal. My patch keeps the attenuation wide and musical, cause I think that this type of effect shouldn't be surgical and extreme. I just need that 2-3 dB of attenuation when needed, nothing more. If I found myself in the situation where I want to go hard with it, it probably means that there's a problem somewhere else in the mix..!

I can't get it to work.
Have a synth on channel 2
Channel 2 does sidechain on channel 3
And if I put a 2nd synth then on channel 3, where then also the patcher is. Nothing happens when I play the controls.
What am I doing wrong ? I can't really see what's happening in the video either ?

Is there a way to choose the signal that you want to use as the sidechain? I want to use it on a bus for example.
With multiple inputs it might be tricky. I never tried it but you can go in the map and manually inter a new input and the connect it to the side chain inputs

i have a question....do i sidechain the vox channel to the beat channel or vice versa?
You should side chain the vocal to the instruments that are in the same frequency area. Does it make sense?

@@AGsosa you can manually do sidechain compression, or you can manually set up a sidechain dynamic eq. All the Mid-side mode has to be done manually, with patcher is pretty easy if you know what you’re doing. Maybe join discord? Me and my community can help you there.

You can route those 2 vocals in an empty channel (that is not connected to the Master) and then side chain this channel to the other instrument you want to affect.

Anyone know what mouse he’s using??
I use a J-Tech Digital V628P. One of the best purchases I've ever done. It solved my hand pain completely (I have big hands, I can't use small mouses). It needs a standard AA battery to work, but it lasts a very long time (1 battery lasts several months).

Appreciate this for real but I can’t get it to work for some reason. I’m sidechaining first but no audio goes through and clicking sidechain mutes the current channel. Anyways keep up the good work!
