Show how to work those baits. I’m always wondering if I’m fishing lures correctly. Sometimes I catch fish but most of the time not. I’m fishing inshore mostly shallow waters in Escambia bay in Pensacola.
@ That would be so helpful! I’ve been fishing for 30 years but am new to lures. I would like to know that I’m presenting the lure correctly. If I’m not catching anything, I think it’s in how I’m presenting. I do appreciate you and look forward to that video. Your intro music is the best out there. Thank you, sir.
I'm from Michigan - doing my first bit of inshore fishing for the first time next month in Vero Beach and have been gaining a lot of knowledge from your channel - thanks for the tips!
Growing up in the big bend of Florida the popping cork and any kinda live, cut or artificial bait was the go to when I was a kid to catch specks! I take my grandkids fishing and when we can’t get anything to hit we put on a popper and 9 out of 10 times we start catching specks!
Thank you C A. Sometimes in the fishing world people keep information close to the vest or are not very friendly at the tackle stores to the newbies. I think fishing is a sport that should be shared. People will respect you more for sharing and respect the fishing grounds more if they do it right. Not everyone had the chance to grow up fishing in the great state of Florida. C A you do a great job! Thanks again.
Thank you for this informative video. I'm heading to the Destin area the end of March. I'm a noobie coming from Northern Wisconsin for a 10 day fishing trip. I put all these suggestions on my list of tackle to buy. One suggestion is that you create this list on your sponsor tackle shop with a link.
Love your videos, what is your go to lure to cover ground fast in any weather for redfish / trout. Like kvd used to cover so much ground with the crankbaits. Lol
@@CASPAINTINGtipsandtricks I still primarily fish that rig on sandy bottoms or in light grass. Gulp Alive 4" white swim mullet with a curly tail, I find the plain white works better than the pearl white. DOA shrimp works on it too - Near Clear or New Penny. For me, nothing consistently catches more fish than this setup. Cast it out and lightly bounce it back to the boat as if I'm working at jig. I have been catching some black drum on it too lately, but reds and flounder are mainly what I catch on it.
@@CASPAINTINGtipsandtricks Just a hook. I just tie on the 2/0 eagle claw bait holder hook and add about 18" of fluro from the swivel. No more than 3/8 oz egg weight for the Carolina rig, use the smallest egg weight you can get away with. Nothing really fancy.
I’m going to be honest I love catfishing… but I ventured out 2xs on fake lures….. 1st time I caught a baby northern pike off a white spinner in summer in Wisconsin…. I got it to the back of the boat from the dock it popped up and flung it out it’s mouth… I quit that day…. Years later like 20-30yrs I try again sisters kid loves bass fishing lures… I got a frog and it got eaten by and alligator I caught on accident he came out of nowhere…. Broke the line… I quit again I’m just not good at this stuff 😩
I’m not a beginner but I will always watch these videos just in case I find something else to put in my arsenal.
I like that Zman hat

What net is that you always have on your boat? I’m looking for a new net for my boat and I really like the way yours folds up.
The gotcha lure and goofy pompano jigs are great beginner lures.
Truth!

Great info Captain, I enjoy your channel much!! 😎
Thank you, we try to bring solid “how to” info to this channel
I have had immense success with gulp alive on a Carolina rig when the bottom allows it. I catch a lot of flounder and reds on that setup.
Really that would be the first I've ever heard of that

@@DougMorris71 that's awesome dude I'll give it a try
@@DougMorris71gulp on a jig head or just a hook

What about scents? Are they worth it? Really stinky and sticky on my fingers.
Yessir like a previous video from Cap, K.I.S.S.....Keep It Simple Stupid. 🤘💪💪🇺🇲🇺🇲
Love the spoon when my hands get tired of throwing lures. No brain power required and it's absolutely deadly on inshore fish.....
