Great tutorial!!🌸🐝 Thank you, Paul.
I loved your face expression as Margot came in dressed like a bumble bee🐝. Margot definitely stole the show at the end. Thank you both for making my day!
So nice of you and I have to agree with you on that one!!!! 🐝
@@ArtbyPaulClark thank you!
Haha, yes, I loved it!
You never fail to teach me something brand new and put a smile on my face! Absolutely delightful!! 🥰🥰🥰
Thank you so much 😀
Thank you so much 😊❤
Can’t wait to try the loose bee, I have such a hard time with loose paintings, I always want to add details. This will be a great practice for me. Thank you for the free drawings too!
You can do it!
Beautiful 🐝❤
You'll be having to pay your wife appearance fees at this rate 💕
You got that right!
Your wife is a riot 😂
Charming bee paintings, each has it’s own personality, like them both, appreciate Margo’s light hearted sense of humour....something we all need right now
Very kind Linda!
I love both bees, the music, the great explanations, and the funny bits! Thank you for the reminder to practice first. I am so happy every Wednesday when I click on the newest tutorial!
You are so welcome Kit!!
enjoy your videos so much! i always learn something new👍🏼
Loved all 3 bees, especially Margot! Nothing wrong with that woman’s inner child, lol. I appreciate all the reminders you give during your tutorials Paul. Minimum strokes, no mucking about, practice first, etc. I can’t tell you how much these suggestions help me. Every moment I spend warming up renders better final results and it works every time. I warm up on a cheap paper so when I get to my cotton paper for the final piece, it is Heaven. Thank you for sharing and wearing your Save the Bees T-shirt. We had a wild hive relocated a couple years back because it had gotten so big it was falling apart. To us it was worth every cent saving those bees and I’d do it again in a heartbeat. Bees are so special. They’re the only insect that makes food for us lowly humans and we should be grateful. Honey is Nectar from God. Blessings to you both!
Thanks for that - lovely comment and always appreciated!
Paul, please do more of these loose vs detailed painting. It helps us in our learning....i picked up painting because of you and Margot's effort in putting these together ❤Denise
More to come!
That was a terrific tutorial - It was interesting to learn of “bee Pile” - I always liked “bee fur” myself. Thank you for another great start to my Wednesday. Bee Have!
🐝👍
How lucky we are that you so freely give of your time and talent. You have made a rough year better. Thanks for everything! My best to you and Margot!
You are so welcome
Love the video, the contrast between the two styles and really enjoy Margot’s cameo appearance!!
Yay! Thank you Jenny!
Hahaha! Bees do t have knees! How do I know…well at boarding school in Rhodesia I was talking after dark so had to write 5 pages on ‘bees knees’. Gave the Prefects a laugh!
NB. DON’T have knees!
Really enjoyed this and I'll have to give it a try. What's more, today I learned that bees have piles...no wonder, then, why some of them can be a bit angry. (I'll get my coat...)
Lol!!! - love that phrase!!
I'm a beginner and I love your detailed instructions. I can kind of see which brush you use at different times, but would you please verbally add the name or number (no. 8 round or 3/4 flat, etc) of each brush you use when you change brushes while painting? You did mention your Rigger when you were painting the strokes of deeper magenta. I usually slow the video down so I can follow along a little slower. Thank you so much for your tutorials!! I love your break times 😄
Love the queen bee 🐝 cameo appearance.
Thanks Nancy - I'll let her know!!!
WOW!!!! The special guest Margo!!!! Super! I think you had a lot of fun to make this video! Good job! And save the bee!!!!!! The picture is fantastic and a poetry viewing it! Thanks! I'd like to try it!
Thanks so much!
Ohhh my gosh, Paul!! Your wife is hysterical in this video!! So fun!! I love both bees, as well!!
Thanks, to you and Margot!
Glad you enjoyed it
Thank you Paul. I've had lovely time painting bees today. I used WN cadmium and DS cobalt but I didn't get the same lovely green that you did. Perhaps I'll try again with a different combination. Sue from Oslo (originally from Worthing!) P. S. Your wife did a great job!!!
next time please do a tutorial on how to paint Margot in Bumble Bee costume XD
Lol!!! - have a look on the Facebook page someone has done it already!
Very easy to follow instructions Thank you for teaching us I really enjoyed the class
Many thanks Carmala!
Soooo beautiful! And such nice bees in UK ;-)
Many thanks 👍
Good on you Margot! 😂 ..and Paul, what can I say? Thank you for another wonderful tutorial! ❤️❤️
Thanks so much Jenni! 😊
You never cease to amaze me
Ahhh thats kind!!
Sherry here, I love painting flowers. This one so neat. Really a cool still life. Thanks Paul
I loved both of those bees, can't wait to give them a go!
Thanks Kirsten! 🐝
I am absolutely glad to know you to get a lot of tips from your painting.
you’re great.
Big Daddy
Cheers for that!!!
Beautiful as always, I can’t wait to give it a go 🙂
Thank you Jessica!!! 😊
Hey Paul, both of these: EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT!!!! i love both of the differences of each style... I really appreciate you are giving us tips/techniques (thank you!!), and again, I really love your humor, please continue all of these, Thank you so much!
Awesome, thank you!
Thanks Paul, love all of your videos! But...shouldn't you be saying "she" for the bee? I think most of the ones we see out and about are ladies!
You are right!
Absolutely beautiful. I love ♥️🐝♥️ our Pollinators. Thank you. I really hope I can create something half as beautiful as your Bee Art.
I hope you see my message about the Japanese Knotweed paper I ordered from overseas which saves Trees and our Pollinators etc. I would love you to try this paper out. 😊
💙💛🎉🍾🥂BRILLIANT🥂🍾🎉💛💙
That's quite superb, with some very simple techniques, that has resulted in a quite extraordinary painting the bee looks so life like!! Quite Brilliant Paul!!
Only recently started following you and now subscribed must watch two or three per day so I'll catch up eventually with ALL YOUR WORK!!
Wonderful, relaxing, entertaining & I learned a lot that will improve my skills.
LIKED, SUBSCRIBED & NOTIFIED 💖👍
Thank you, Paul! Your tutorials are amazing and they keep me going with watercolors even when I'm not completely satisfied with the result. And I love your sense of humor, it brightens Wednesday every week!
Great to hear Karolina!
I’m delighted to find you! I’m inspired to begin painting again. Thank you.
Very nice painting I loved it watching thanks for your running commentary.. waiting for your next video...🙏
Fabulous tutorial!!!!! What a great artist and teacher you are! Thank you!
Thank you so much!
Hi! I am new to your tutorials. This was lovely! I do have a question. What type of pencils are you using, exactly? Thank you!
I like both ones ☺️👍 love the minimalism in the first one. And also every body know whats shown on the drawing. Think this shows what's important for the artist. ☺️
Awesome! Thank you!
Lovely bee pic s really enjoyed the tutorial
Thanks so much 😊
Love how simplified your tutorials are !! Appreciate the sense of humor!! Best thing is that you use a limited palette which makes it even better for people like me who are just starting off with watercolors. Thank you very much !!
Oh thank you!
As always an awesome tutorial. When you started it out and the bee buzzed (supposedly) around your head and you ducked I almost spit out my "herbal" tea. Now I need a real drink. You just crack me up.
You Bee the master of Water colour and Beelieve me when I say your Bee is a beauty to Beehold!
Lol!!! thanks for that!
You guys are so cute!
Looking forward to painting this with you.
Thank you so much. ☺️
I've just finished my bee and I'm so amazed how well it turned out, i painted two but the first one turned out much better than the second, the second one looks like its overeaten a tad 😂, I loved this tutorial, thank you 😊
Fantastic . What was the detail brush called , ? I have yet to find a decent detail brush … ( brand ) ? What was the white pencil too ???
Thanx
Great tutorial. 👌👌👌
Thank you! Cheers! 🐝
Beeutiful.
Thank you! Cheers!
Watching you for the 1st time from NY...you guys a crazy!!!😂😂😂❤❤❤ I just subscribed...you'll are my kind of folks!

Hello. Beautiful demos and helpful tips, thank you so much for sharing 🐝😊 (new subbie)
Thanks so much! 😊 and welcome
Oh my God, Paul...the expression on your face!! What a good sport our Margot is, I laughed out loud. Another fantastic tutorial, well, two actually. Both paintings with their different styles, done so seamlessly and beautifully! You are a true master ❤️
Glad you enjoyed it Didi! - many thanks for encouragement!
I have been looking for lessons on tight watercolour painting but have fallen in love with your first loose bee🐝❤️ painting. Oh dear! I just have a hard time with the loose style . Just watched the second bee and it is absolutely stunning. Your skills are smazing Paul. Thankyou so much🙏🐝🌺 I adore Margot’s bee. ❤️🐝
That's very kind - thanks so much!
smithy
Just love this Paul.
Cheers Smithy!
Hi Paul! My sister just got a beehive and I wanted to paint something for her so I watched your video! I’ve painted this 3 times already…might have to go do a 4th. I keep overpainting 🤦🏻♀️ I could use a little critiquing like I had in college art classes 29 years ago. Just picked up my brushes again after 15+ years.
That's a great story - thanks for sharing!
Thank you Paul!! Fun AND lovely paintings!!!
Glad you enjoyed it
You are the watercolor UK version of Bob Ross!! Thank you so much for making everything so easy to understand. Your confidence level is something I am striving to obtain and I wish I could get private instructions from you. I'm in the USA and submitted a request to join your FB group! These are beautiful bees! All three of them!! (Though, I think the last one's a bit sassier. 😂😉) I'm grabbing my Cafe Du Monde Café Au Lait and giving this a go! Thank you so much for sharing your talent, abilities and humor with us!
Lol - thanks for lovely comment Amy
Love the bees ! 2nd one my favorite! Thanks so much for your videos!
I thought I’d already watched all your videos and wanted to go back and just try painting along to one but I know I didn’t see this one before! I would have remembered Margo for sure. My husband says we did watch it before. I’ll just say he’s right. Lol . He’s too wonderful to disagree with. He got me nice “expensive” brushes for Christmas and now I think I’m totally spoiled by them. Wow it makes a big difference. I just tried the loose bee. Now to tackle the tight one.
Glad you fond this one Jacq…. It’s one of my favourite’s 😁
140 lb, not 120 lb... in case you were confused. Plus, I just found a couple of sheets of 300 lb. So I'll practice the bees on the lesser paper then switch. I only have Naples yellow, and I tried mixing the purple but it just looked muddy so I used some premixed purple. I'm just loving this lesson!
Great to hear Robin - yes, Naples Yellow is a great colour but opaque so will cloud colours a bit.
Thank you Paul It was fun painting. I have never painted insects or animals birds, good to learn. Thanks for yours and Margot's humor.
You are very welcome
Hey Paul, question, I've heard instructors talk about squinting. What's up with that? Thanks for your help. Phil from Ohio
I Phil - not too sure, I do ask my students to squint at an object some time to illuminate detail and simplify things sometime?
I appreciate your wide range of painting subjects. Both paintings are great and I love that you included two styles of it. As always wonderful explanation of each step 👍 the lady bee buzzing around is too cute ! Enjoyed this video very much 😁 I always look forward to seeing what your next painting is going to be....
Awesome, thank you Karen!
Paul I love all your tutorials but the Facebook group 👎🏼👎🏼. I’m happy to just follow your UA-cam channel ☺️
No problem Christine.
Hello, i love to watch you from Turkey… i hope some day you will come and i can come and see you both. What a lovely bee serving beer. And wondering in the garden. İ love you both. İ couldnt find the pastel pencil brand you suggested i bought to different brands but both arent as bright as yours and they are chalky. Here in turkey if you search for stabilo you can only find stabilo markets as pastel colours. İ use white gouache and sometimes white acrilic marker but they dont give the effect. İ also loked up to amazon but still the stabilo pastel colored markers… have a nice day…
Lovely - thanks for sharing ...and have a nice day too!
Excellent video. Easy to follow and marvellous subject matter. Many thanks for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it!
Something to cheer up in these tough times. All the three bumble bees are beautiful.
Thanks as always!!!
ThistleBee one of my favourites.....😁🏴
Ahh! - I can see why! 🏴
Thank you so much for providing this tutorial. I bought your book, and am enjoying the process. I did the bridge and it came out beautifully,. Looking forward to doing this bee., Thank you so much. Your wife is adorable…. Love this video
You are so welcome!
I'm officially out of Arches 300 lb. Paper (sob). Nowhere to buy it out here in the country, I have to order it on line, last time I did it took over two months to get here, the seller was out of stock. Lucky I have two last pieces of 120 lb. for these bees. Bees knees? Lord almighty. I'll post them if I don't screw them up too badly.
Go for it Robin - love to see them!!!
Hi I am making the bumble bee in a canvas for my grandsons bedroom, can I spray de canvas to protect the painting? And what can I use? Thank you your are awesome like always 😊
Great to hear - thanks!
Always a joy to watch you paint. Your techniques on both pictures are great. Tell your wife she’s a perfect Bumblebee 🐝. On a football note, your boys have got to stop Liverpool from getting above your team in the league. ⚽️👍
Thank you Mark I'll have a word but it's gonna be tough! ... still it's in the bag for City!
Brilliant tutorial again Paul, always something new and exciting. By the way who are these 4 people who've disliked the video?
I know!!! .... and I'm one of them!
My friend, you have good taste in bees.
Your mastery of cad yellow and cobalt blue never ceases to amaze me. Now you're mastering dioxizine and magenta. This is a great vid. Wish you were here to coach me. I'm working on a commission. A grizzly bear. Can you believe it? Take care o yersef.
Wow, thank you Chuck as always - keep it going!!!
Will have to try the loose again, I lean toward the technical, obsessively. Thank you for another enjoyable evening of painting. On another note, on my walk today I picked up a couple garden sticks for my next line and wash! My husband got quite a kick out of them. I have tried them both and prefer the maple over the pine. I've never enjoyed painting more.
Thank you! Cheers!
pls can you do a tourtorial on glass
I'll look into it!!!
Lol Margot you crack me up, so funny. Great painting Paul, think I might try blending the two bees in the same picture, then again could be a bust! Lol will have fun trying. Thanks for another fantastic tutorial.
Go for it Paula and many thanks!
Thank you once again, for a very helpful and educational tutorial! I so appreciate each one. I’m not sure why anyone would ever give you a thumbs down????
You are so welcome!
I have only one thing to say about the bees...awwwww. never knew bees were adorable, where's it's little stinger? I was wondering what I was going to paint today, bees are very much on everyone's mind these days. The bees are dropping like flies (that can't be right) because of our over use of pesticides. This would make beautiful little cards. Have a great day, don't get stung if you go out to your garden!
Thanks for that Robin -always love your comments!!!
Dear 💕sir you always leave me awe stuck. How you make so tiny beautiful creature so significant!! Your subject is something which no one can predict. I am so proud to associate with your videos. Marvellous sir with masterstroke tutorials
Thank you so much 😀 🐝🐝🐝
Margot the bee🐝, great😀 . Fabulous as always. 🥰🥰🥰 Thanks for the video, i will give it a try
Thanks so much 😊
I am obsessed with your work!! I watch every evening and I love your style and your personality; I have learned so much from you and can't wait to put what I've learned onto paper! Your wife is hilarious as well! Cheers from Ohio in the US
Thank you so much Diana from Ohio!!
Both styles are appealing, I’d be very proud of myself to paint either one as well as you do. And Thankyou for showing the masking fluid forgetting, that would definitely happen to me.
You’re welcome 😊
What a lovely little bee in yr garden....source of inspiration ! ah ah..amusing :-))))
Thank you! Cheers!
Fantastic tutorial...good to compare different approaches to same subject...loved the guest bee appearance..so cute😍
Thank you! 😊 🐝
Appreciate it very much Paul... Love your presentation too, as usual...Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it
Amazing Bee art. I'm a total beginner but I'm going shopping for the equipment, and give it a go.
Thanks for the tutorial.
Glad it was helpful!
Hi I really enjoyed this painting tutorial, would you be able to do more botanical- thank you. Thank you for teaching me to be a better starting artist everyday! Your techniques are enriching.
Great suggestion!... will do!
A bit late watching your video this week - but worth the wait. Fascinating how you used two different style to achieve two great paintings - love them both. Will definitely try as tend towards a tighter style and would like to loosen up (when painting that is 😏!). Thankyou
Thanks so much!
Inspired me to go out and get a water painting kit , I'm 74 been doing some art with acrylics since lockdown with various successes, hope to start , which at my age I hope a long, and interesting journey love your light hearted approach, tips and of course your skill, many thanks. David
Sounds great David - have fun!!
Just discovered your tutorials. Absolutely brilliant. Can’t wait to have a go, just need some free time and I’ll be having a go.
Great stuff and welcome Linda!
Paul - I am really loving your tutorials. Question: do you worry about the pencil marks? Or are they able to be "rubbed" out after painting? Is it acceptable for a Watercolourist to leave their pencil marks?
Absolutely - sometimes pencil marks can add to your painting so I never worry if they show.
Gledam,uživam i učim.Ako i ne postanete veliki slikar, možete biti jako dobar glumac.
Thanks so much!!!
I just love your sense of humour! Your videos are so enjoyable. Thank you so much for creating such wonderful tutorials :)
Glad you like them!
You are creating some wonderful video's, your assistant is great too!!! Thank you
Thank you very much Ruth!
Everyone who enjoyed this please pay it forward and take just a minute to learn how you can help. Google "save the bees". Use alternatives to pesticides and weed killers in your own yard. Set aside space for a bee/butterfly garden, even if it's just a few square feet and a handful of seeds.
Very wise words - many thanks 🐝
Very beautiful! How could you keep the colour bright when add many water to make it watery? Mine will become very thin....
You can - just add more pigment!
That was great, I love bees we sell honey on our farm and have lots of hives. I just love Margo's bee show, thanks it made my day, couldn't stop smiling. Maybe I need to get a bee suit like that and have some fun too. I really look forward to Wednesdays.
That is awesome Vicki! - it will definitely bring in the customers!
I’m going to try these. Love the live bee at your studio. Couldn’t stop smiling. Regards from sunny and humid Florida.
Glad you like them!
Paul love the bees. Can’t wait to try these. What’s your Facebook group call please I’d like to join.
Hiya - thanks, link to Facebook Group: facebook.com/groups/2751514731831520
Bravo!! I’ve sent this out to friends as a buzzing bee challenge ;) Thanks Paul! And the buzzing bee.
Awesome, thank you Kris!
