    Mazda 3 2016 Hatchback owner here. Still love my little daily driver even though we already have a midsize SUV. Still takes the corners like a champ even after all these years. As a previous Honda purist, Mazda vehicles really push way beyond their years.

    Timeless beauty. Still have my Gen 1 running smoothly. Thrown some body kits on it and still competes to newer models in terms of aesthetics.

      @@user-lu1bp6tn6g I've owned many vehicles and I am confident to say that Honda and Toyota CVT are more reliable than most traditional automatics. Gone are the days of expensive maintenance of CVT since most of the econo cars today are using CVT which means there are plenty of parts nowadays unlike the dying breed traditional automatics with lesser parts availabilitywhich in turn increase the maintenance. Today, the Law of Supply and Demand favors the CVT.

    Good Interior & Exterior design, fun to drive, solid built quality, good Bose sound system plus free 5 yr PMS. The only problem now is claustrophobic feel specially on the Sportsback variant.

    I think the touchscreen issue (setting it on required) and wireless Android Auto is fixed with a software update. I had my G25 Astina last year (I am in Oz, by the way) and after a month of ownership, Mazda emailed me to do a software update, and there you go, wireless Android Auto and a touchscreen option.

    I did roughly estimate/calculation comparing with the non-hybrid with this one. If I'm not mistaken, it gave me a result ~ 8 years before I can get back on the savings with just gas. My variables are 6k monthly gas for non-hybrid and 4k monthly gas for hybrid and their prices from 1.5ish to 1.7ish respectively roughly 200k difference. I don't know, maybe if you need it to drive everyday I think this hybrid is still efficient, no coding too. 🤷

    • @logmeinhere
      @logmeinhere Місяць тому

      It's not coding exempted if I'm not mistaken as it's only a mild hybrid car.

    • @chuckh0le
      @chuckh0le Місяць тому

      @@logmeinhere this is tricky. per the DOE, its not exempt because its not a full hybrid. but ultimately the DoTR/LTO will be providing classifications, which is why my Mazda 3 is classified as a hybrid. no extra steps or appeals done on my part. when i got my CR from the dealer it showed hybrid. my guess is Mazda PH appealed to have their vehicles classified as legit hybrids. in fact, if you check Mazda PH's website you'll find that all their cars are labeled as HEV and not mild hybrid as they were initially called

    • @logmeinhere
      @logmeinhere Місяць тому

      Which other cars are you considering? The cx5 is a 5 seather only, while the cx8 is a 6 or 7 seater depending on the variant. So make sure to decide if you want those extra seats.
      For what it's worth, here's my quick two cents on Mazda CX cars:
      Pros:
      - premium feel interior, and
      - better driving dynamics vs. competitors
      - Free 5 year maintenance service same with all Mazda cars
      Cons:
      - Less interior space, and
      - worse gas mileage vs. competitors

    Not sure why until now there is no touchscreen? I understand the controller is there but it still doesn't give you the choice of using the touchscreen or knob. It's more user friendly than trying to master the knob/controller. Boggles me for Mazda is more on luxury and comfort. It's like your still using a blackberry phone instead of a smartphone. 🤯

    it does not need a small turbo engine.. it needs an upgrade to 2.5 L turbo like in the US or a 2.5 L non turbo.. there's a lot of small displacement turbo engines in the market suffers from oil dilution problems.. and I do hope that mazda never enter the trend on small displacement turbo engines with CVTs.
