Good gracious this car huge!!!! In all these years I had no idea this car was this large and spacious!!!! November 22, 1963...what an amazing artifact of American history
The name "Queen Mary" was the name given to the Secret Service followup car. The code name for it was "Halfback." The "Queen Mary" wasn't the president's limo.
Firstly, since the original car, this limo, was placed into service in 1956, it should be known as the "IKE" limo, or 'Eisenhower' limo --- NOT JFK. .... Secondly, Jack Kennedy was actually a Packard man when he was a U. S. Senator in the 1950s, though is much more known or associated with the "X-100" stretch LINCOLN limosine, with styling that began in the '61 models, right about the time that JFK began his term. ... Let's be fair and accurate.
If l'm not mistaken LBJ was riding in this car when JFK was killed in Dallas. Dwight Eisenhower used the word "cruel" to describe the killing. Imagine how Jackie Kennedy suffered. Her bodyguard wrote a book about the day JFK was killed, it was heart wrenching.
Pretty spot on looking like the original except the original didn't have rear fender skirts. Nice to see it had the correct motor in it rather than a small block Chevy or a modern Cadillac Northstar engine.
@@stevecarlson6462 but not worried about 700 pounds of guns and ammo not to mention secret service agents .. the drive train was beefed up Hotter cam in engine same for the Lincoln and other performance bits
THIS CAR SHOULD HAVE BEEN RETIRED AT THE HENRY FORD MUSEUM , BEHIND THE JFK LIMO , THEY BELONG TOGETHER FOR HISTORY PURPOSES !!!! IF ONLT THE CARS COULD TALK , WE WOULD HAVE KNOWN IT ALL !!!!!
Nice car. A few minor details need correction for authenticity. The car was not really used by JFK (or Ike). It was one of two identical parade cars used by the Secret Service. On the original the doors were indented to allow more room for agents on the running boards which did not stick out so far for safety reasons. The rear step boards look very 21st century. Also the original had a compartment in the back that held a high powered rife and shotgun.
Sorry, his brains and skull fragments were splattered ALL OVER THE REAR OF THE CAR. That is why Jackie was trying to crawl over the trunk to retrieve them. AND if it was a REAR SHOT, Connolly and his wife would have been COVERED in JFK's blood and brains. Besides, it states in the info bit above, IT IS A REPLICA made up for Oliver Stone's movie.
Not a very good reproduction. Flagstaffs are incorrect, handle grips mounted to windshield are incorrect in size, shape and placement, doors need to be indented to allow more room for agents, running boards are too wide, and compartment behind the front section for storing weapons is missing.

HaHa -They ought to make a show where people have to to take their driving test in one of these.
Thanks and Happy New Year.
Where can I get one!!!!
Wow...That's some car.

LBJ was in a white Continental a few cars further back. This was a SS car.
LBj was in a regular rental Lincoln, behind halfback in the Dallas motorcade. So it was the third car in line.
No that's not correct.
Yes LBJ was in the white Lincoln behind follow up car like mentioned before!
Love this car........
Ou
Would like to have seen them operate the convertible top ~~

They were worried the skirts would add extra weight.

I used to drive limousines for a living. Cadillac engines were always noisier than Lincolns, like this one here.
My DAD drove Limo's he liked the Lincolns better too,
This 1956 Caddy that wuz used by the Secret Service had the code name "halfback"
Kennedy's car was a Lincoln continental.
Yes, You Are Right..Kennedy's Rode With His Wife In A Lincoln Continental. When You Ride In A Lincoln Continental You Get A Continental Feeling.
Great car. But I'd get tired of that siren really fast
makes me miss my '55 coupe de ville
Here comes the President of the Ghostbusters.
The old Queen Mary rode Pres. Ike and VIP's in Caddy style
Nice !!!!
This was first, President Eisenhower's official car. In the Kennedy administration, it was a support car
It's amazing what you can buy at a government auction.
Where can I find this song? I know it's Hail to the Chief but I mean this exact version?
Men are gone, and fire inherits nothing but ashes.
Doesnt the real ones have more contouring inward at the doors??
Does anyone know how to contact the owner of this replica?
Is it actually real?
😄 Drive that boat around Hollywood at night - light and siren *!*
Nice copy, a few things missing like the Ariel on the left front chrome fender side ?
It's a power antenna in the down position.
NICE. :D I take it Stone was the one who had it modfiied from a standard limo into this car?
Yup!
Is it for sale?
1956 Ike had it First when it was NEW and why did They Put JFK in the TITLE ?
THIS CAR SHOULD HAVE BEEN RETIRED AT THE HENRY FORD MUSEUM , BEHIND THE JFK LIMO , THEY BELONG TOGETHER FOR HISTORY PURPOSES !!!! IF ONLT THE CARS COULD TALK , WE WOULD HAVE KNOWN IT ALL !!!!!
This was a REPLICA. NOT ACTUALLY USED BY THE GOVERNMENT.

It was used by Ike, Kennedy and Johnson. JFK is pictued in it at a parade in his honor in Cork, Ireland.
The white house actually had two of these.
I’ll take it. Sweet
JFK Cadillac Limo, the "VERY FUCKING AMERICAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Soooo wait? Wasn’t this the car that had JFK’s brains splattered on the front? If so that’s creepy man!😬
No this car was riding in back of JFK's car

@AlphaInfernoAttack I mean like, 150k
That's not even Eisenhower car Eisen hower car is in the Henry Ford Museum Dearborn Michigan
Pay attention.
That's the same car that was behind JFK's assassination's vehicle
No, this is a replica of that car.

Better than yours, oh that's right, you don't have one.
that red light/siren looks and sounds horrid
through my eyes / Yes that's the way they were ... Very eerie ! 😱
I remember those nightmarish siren wails. They caused instant fear.
@@alanblanes2876 at least they weren't so loud and didn't have such high brain shattering frequencies like the new ones.

I never did like the looks of this car or the GM trucks of that year, they are ugly and gross looking.
