    Question: Isn't the point with a bread machine that you just throw all the ingredients into the machine and then turn it on? And the machine will do all the mixing and kneeding?

    • @FreshisReal
      @FreshisReal  3 роки тому

      Yes, one would hope to achieve the most perfect loaf by doing so! When testing out many variations, the best loaf was the one that I mixed beforehand (in a separate bowl) and only used the bread machine to bake it. Maybe with wheat-based bread recipes, the ingredients are lighter and easier to mix? Have you tried before?

      Let me know if you have any questions before you start. I recently made the most amazing GF sourdough loaf in my bread machine and used the gluten-free setting, and it worked out perfectly. I did have to help mix the dough with a soft spatula to ensure that all the ingredients were getting mixed in properly, and had to adjust by adding a bit more water, but the bread was really great, with a soft texture and crispy crust.

    I subscribed. I need to know what can replace psyllium husk, because i can't get It where I live. I only got psyllium seeds, can I use them?

    • @FreshisReal
      @FreshisReal  2 роки тому

      Hi! I've never seen the seeds. I'll have to look into it. Not sure that you could just ground the seeds. Do you have flax seeds or flaxseed meal? If you replace psyllium with ground flax or flaxseed meal you could add a bit more like up to 4 tablespoons. Flax is less sticky which is why adding a bit more will be ok. You could also consider a combo of ground flax and chia seeds. I'll be sharing a new bread recipe in the next few days that doesn't contain psyllium husk or yeast, it's great!

    Hi Chantel, is it ok to use a plant milk that contains oat, cashew, coconut etc? I usually make my oat milk with the following recipe, and would be convenient if i could use it for this recipe!
    3/4 cup raw cashews
    1/2 cup unsweetened coconut flakes
    1/4 cup rolled oats
    maple syrup
    1 pinch salt
    3 cups filtered water
    Also is almond flour same as almond meal? Other than almond flour and sunflower flour, what else can i use as it is haard to find these ingredients where i am. Thanks in advancce!

    • @FreshisReal
      @FreshisReal  4 роки тому

      Your milk sounds perfect! Yes, use it! Almond meal is a little different than almond flour. Almond flour is prepared with blanched almonds. Almond meal often includes the skin. In most cases, both can be used interchangeably, but almond flour is more absorbent. If you don't have either or seed flour, you could use more oat flour.

      Hi! I tried many ways, including the GF setting on my machine and I find that the ingredients never mixed completely well when doing so. For that reason, as explained in the video and the recipe, I find it easy and best to mix everything in a bowl by hand and then use the machine to bake the loaf. You can reuse them! If using them for the same purpose, such as making plant-based milk. After using them, you can rinse them clean with water and hang them to dry. If they start getting too dirty looking, you could wash them with eco-friendly, non-toxic soap and hang to dry. You can also use a fine mesh sieve.

    Well I’m going for my 3rd attempt at this....but a very concerning issue I have is the fact that if I let the dough rise in the bread machine during its normal “rise” cycle, it only rises for 50 min, yet you let it raise for 3 hours! That’s such a huge discrepancy! Any reason why that you know of? Maybe I need to remove my dough at the “remove paddle” time, let it raise in a bowl for 3 hours, then put it back in for just a bake cycle? I wonder if that will fix my “dense, unbraided bread” issue?

    • @FreshisReal
      @FreshisReal  3 роки тому

      I'm happy to hear that you've been experimenting. This is why I often use my bread machine to only bake the bread as opposed to letting the GF setting do it's thing (mix/rise/bake). Gluten-free (and vegan) bread recipes are very different.

    • @FreshisReal
      @FreshisReal  5 років тому

      Hi Karen! You could experiment. You could try it once with the bake setting only for 60-70 minutes and perhaps the next time you can test the gluten-free setting and let the machine do its thing. Then compare which loaf was better for you.

    Can I use the mix button on the bread machine?

    • @FreshisReal
      @FreshisReal  4 роки тому

      Hi Jennifer! You can, for sure! Although each machine has different settings and features. I recommend using your machine once to bake the dough. Then the second time around, try the GF setting on your machine. It will mix, rise, punch down the dough and bake it for you. Don't forget to attach the paddle if you do it this way. Also, if you try it, keep an eye on it when it's mixing. You might have to open the top and help mix it with a soft spatula to ensure that all the dry ingredients from the bottom have been incorporated.

      Hi Patti! I believe I explained why I prefer to mix it beforehand in one of the two bread machine videos. @FreshisReal  5 років тому

      Hi Madelaine! I've entered the ingredients into a program called Nutrifox to get a *rough* idea of carbs for this recipe as it is. It is indeed a high carb loaf, in the mid +/- 30g or so. It's comparable to a processed white loaf of bread. Not so great for you, unfortunately. Have you seen my GFV grain-free bread recipe (www.freshisreal.com/how-to-make-grain-free-bread/)? For that bread recipe, I will have to input each ingredient individually to get the correct carb count reading as many of the ingredients are newer and not as familiar to most. But, as a rough estimate, it's looking like it is almost half the carb count of the bread machine loaf. An excellent bread recipe for you to consider. Let me know if you can consume almond meal/flour.

The amount of water you added can affect the final outcome of the loaf. I will add the weight for each ingredient as soon as I can as it could be helpful to you. Did you use homemade hemp milk or other? Also if you have tummy troubles with this recipe it could be the psyllium husk. If you're not used to it. Did you use whole psyllium husk fibre or powder? @@TheStoneWhisperer Using store-bought nut milk could definitely add to the density of the loaf as the ingredients often contain preservatives, gums, etc. which could change the texture of a GF vegan bread recipe. I will make this recipe again very soon. I will test one version in my bread machine and another one baked in a regular oven. When I do I will weigh all the ingredients and add them to the post. Ps. I always use homemade seed/nut milk when baking as it's simply the seed/nut and water.

      @@FreshisReal I totally agree. That’s why I use Malk, it’s the purest store bought nut milk without all the fillers & binders in it.

    Hi Chantel, I made this bread exactly according to your ingredients & instructions; it turned out just like yours, and it was GREAT! I mixed it by hand, and let it rise in the bread pan for 2hrs, and baked it in the bread machine. It was soft inside, not gummy at all; outside is nice & crispy. Yum!
    Only issue I had with my Oster bread maker was, its baking option just one hour only. (My bread maker is a cheaper one). When the machine went off in 1hr, I added another 20min on baking. It was just right, not dry, not too wet. Perfect!
    Thank you so much for all your time & effort on coming up with this recipe. I’m so grateful! 🤗
    Chintha.

      Dona! I'm so happy that you tried this recipe! And great job on figuring out your machine. If you have time, could you rate this recipe directly in the recipe post and include your notes. Doing so will help other bakers find the recipe and guide them once they try it! Here's the link: www.freshisreal.com/gluten-free-vegan-bread-machine-loaf/ Thanks again, Dona!

      Fresh is Real hi Chantel, I redid the review (giving 5 stars) on that link you requested (on your website). When I submitted that, it said that I already reviewed that, so I’m not sure whether it went through.
