"Reading all the encouraging comments to my love story with my late wife, Doris on The Royal Singapore and here on UA-cam that's coming in every day, brings lots of tears to my eyes. You are well loved Doris, and so am I, I guess. . Thanks guys, you are awesome!
You are an AWESOME man Sir.My brother had schizophrenia for 20 years before dying aged 35 , his illness was and still is the toughest thing we had to deal with mental illness doesn't affect the sick only but their family mrmbers too nut LOVE has a huge role to ease the journey, so seeing how you stuck around Doris , is really something speacial.
you did a great job and your love to her was so big and immense that it touched us who heard your story. I've been in touch with a number of mental illnesses, depressives or obessives, these people are rather OK to handle, but schizophrenics and persecutory delusives are toughest to deal with, since there are occasions they simply lost their mind completely (living in delusions) and you can do nothing, that's really tough for the family and I wholeheartedly sympathize their plights. what I can do somehow is just to listen to those family members who want someone to talk with and blah everything out. That's basically what I could do for them.
“I am deeply grateful with the uplifting wonderful comments on our love story - Doris and myself that was produced by the GREAT production team of The Royal Singapore which has been uploaded on Facebook as well as on UA-cam. I am happy that our story is going viral- every day. Readers made the effort to write their heartfelt feelings. This is one way we can build a far better society. And I have achieved what I set out to do for 10 years - as a staunch mental health advocate - by changing perceptions where people fully understand the struggles caregivers and patients face when we take ‘the road less travelled.’ So that someday, some how, persons with mental illness can gain acceptance in society. Then we can become a truly inclusive society. Most certainly, I want to surround myself with people who can lift me higher. God bless all of you abundantly. You made the DIFFERENCE."' -Raymond Anthony Fernando -
Hope TRS can change the title of this video. Doris was a wife , sister and daughter, much more than an illness. Society needs to realise that people with psychiatric disorders are sufferers themselves and not the disease. The title should be "Living with a spouse who had schizophrenia." God bless Raymond for staying on the narrow road of LIFE. Matthew 7:13-14

Besides being a staunch advocate for the mentally ill and their caregivers, I have also become a kindness advocate. Such efforts require a great deal of hard work and discipline. Discipline of the mind is important for us to be pure in heart, to stay calm and not to harm anyone. Being disciplined means you stay obedient to God, be faithful to our spouse and give unconditional love to our children; and of course, to our parents who gave us life. Have a nice day, folks! Mr Fernando, Doris is fortunate to have you as her husband. You are her guardian angel. I really respect you for not abandoning her this 40 years. I totally understand the life that you have been through. My mother has schizophrenia since I was young. For 20 years she has been with us and when she passed on with another illness, our house suddenly becomes so lonely. I guessed because life suddenly becomes a lot easier for us and we feel a sudden emptiness in our heart. Doris knew that you suffered a lot for her and she loves you and wanted to give back your freedom and happiness that she thinks you deserve it. I wish you to have a blessful life always.
When a family member passed away, there's a sense of desolation at home. The heart is bereft of the family member's presence. As the adverse effects of the illness no longer exist, obviously the family condition becomes less turbulent.

My brother in law is schizophrenic for more than 30years and i've realized that the really important thing of this kind of illness is you need to support him, love him, taking care of him because this illness is a lifetime. Right now he's not taking any medication since the last 10years i guess we used to manage him but sometimes there is a relapse but most of the time he is controllable but the auditory hallucination is always there. Hi Raymond, thank you for sharing your story which is so encouraging and definitely give hope to many people with mental illness as well as families struggling to cope with a family member having mental illness. I’m deeply touched by the love, strength and courage you and your wife had for each other to cope with the challenges life and the illness presented. Your unconditional love and care for her and full acceptance and understanding of her mental condition showed us that a person having mental illness needs as much love and acceptance like everyone to live well. Thank you so much! You are a great man!
Thank you so much Angela, God Bless you & your loved ones. My advocacy efforts continues as there are still a few people who discriminate and try to hit out at me.
Must be difficult to internalize how easy it would be for the man to break things off with his wife due to her mental condition way before her passing. @@raymondafernando I couldn't fathom the enormity of the situation when a senior colleague shared his life's experience being married to person having this beautiful personality.. Even after many years it was a case of intrigue n my lack of empathy coz I didn't know or rather couldn't understand what he was expressing is real... Then there came a day wherein I had a encounter with a beautiful person having such thought behavior.. It propelled me to study deeply abt the subject thanks to a neighbour who was imparting training to pple becoming teachers for privileged children. I had shown interest to learn more of this subject.. She loaned books written n published many decades ago, Later conclusion I found to my surprise. Pple with this thoughts are highly intelligent, receptive. Intutive loving caring responsible. Surprise! They know themselves. Their behavior is right. It is pple like us who react stupidly which amplifies their thought process that they are different, they notice the look on th the so called normal pple. N they retreat into a shell. Hey all they need is a Hug, love, understanding, smile, But the ferals in human expect all human shld be a copy of themselves, U have had a beautiful person as ur partner. God Bless. Medication is very important.
@@rainbow-qs8ie .. Medication and patience equally important.
@@bobafett5757 Medic 4 patient, Patience 4 carer. No medic, meaningless care. Like just waiting for a house on fire to burn out.

A Lighted Blessed Candle, A collective Prayer
A get-well message specially dedicated to 3 WO Jeffrey Heng
Dear Jeffrey Heng,
You must have spent hours training for the Grand Parade
Certainly, the Red Lions stand tall
As many will attest, you guys are simply great!
Despite the risks in parachuting from the sky
The Red Lions and you, Jeffrey, adopt an attitude of - never-say-die
As with every dedicated serviceman, you answered the nation’s call
Your bravery is recognized - even with that accidental hard fall
I may not know you, Jeffrey, but I feel for you and your family
Like many Singaporeans, we all stand with you - in solidarity
For you Jeffrey, a blessed candle now burns at my altar
Trust me, the power of prayer is as solid as the Rock of Gibraltar
For you, Jeffrey, I call on all citizens to embrace a collective prayer
For you are one person who dares to dream, I do declare
I have every confidence that the Good Lord will help you to recover
And a faith helps, you will, on all accounts, discover
Jeffrey, the doctors and nurses will put you on the road to recovery
And when you’re back on your feet again, Jeffrey
Hey! Wouldn’t that be just lovely!
Rest well and keep your spirits high
And before you know, you’ll be parachuting all over again
From that beautiful blue sky
With best wishes,
Raymond Anthony Fernando

I couldn't fathom the enormity of the situation when a senior colleague shared his life's experience being married to person having this beautiful personality.. Hey all they need is a Hug, love, understanding, smile, But the ferals in human expect all human shld be a copy of themselves,
U have had a beautiful person as ur partner. God Bless.
I don't know why but pple are drawn towards me n I have not disappointed them. Many are beautiful, happy. After a long many years my colleague came to my place of work even with a face mask on I could recognize him.. Yeah is still married to the same person n their was happiness in his eyes... Not all relationship are daunting if u have a giving, caring n loving attitude. 🙏
You truly inspired others. Big respect!! 🙏🏼
Rest In Peace to your wife.🕯

Mr. Fernando story remind me of this lyrics
When I can't see right in your eyes
When I'm surrounded in the craziness of time
When your understanding is trying hard to stand still
When I wear layers of my pride, you should
Undress me, undress me
Unlock this chain and set me free
Remind me to be myself
Undress me, undress me
Unleash my heart and make me see
When I become someone else
Whenever I'm trapped in this tide
When I forgotten that there is you and I
When your persuasion is fighting in a blindfold
When I wear my bad moods to my mouth, you should
Undress me, undress me
Unlock this chain and set me free
Remind me to be myself, myself
Undress me, undress me
Unleash my heart and make me see
When I become someone else
Like a rose without its thorn
Like a bird without a song
Like the fire without the flame
If there's a painless love, we wouldn't be the same
~Anggun/Undress Me~
