For someone with such a soft demeanor and who speaks so clearly, he would never come across to me as a drug addict who’s been in and out of prison the past 40 years. Wish him all the best in his fight to stay clean. Really glad he is getting a chance to live a normal life.

Well that is what I feel is most scary about drugs, aside of the direct harm they can do ofc.
It is not at all like every drug addict is some insane psycho or violent or has a bad nature or is a failure of a human being or anything...
Every person reacts different to that stuff to some extent and while some might even manage to maintain a somewhat 'normal' life and hide their addiction ( at least for a while) others spiral out of control real fast.
I saw something like that happen to a former class mate.
A bunch of them tried out so called 'soft' drugs ( I do not really believe in that term, albeit some certainly are far more destructive than others) and all of them were fine and moved away from them again, finished school and started a normal life....
Except that one guy who legit dropped out of school.
I met him many years later and LUCKILY he had managed to turn around his life and was in good shape, but he only succeeded with his last shot basically... a lot of hardship along the way.

Thumbs up to Poh Lim’s employer and his sister. Without a job, you could imagine how big a struggle he would face. An idling mind is a devil’s workshop…so I would say that his employer really contributed to his success in staying on the right track. Stay strong and God bless, Poh Lim!

His sons letter was so heart-felt and heart-breaking. It is a child’s honest declaration of his deepest feelings and I applaud the son for writing this very sincere and honest letter. As someone who cannot connect with her mum I understand how this emptiness feels and
how destructive it can be in one’s life. I wish both of them find some closure.

amazing to see this of Mr Poh Lim! I hope that he is able to get in touch with Bluebird Bros to share more about his experience and also to motivate people to stay away from drugs. At the same time if he feels he has excess energy to burn, can consider exercising more or hitting the gym to live a long and healthy life!

Wow! He should do more videos, he can become a successful UA-camr if he stays consistent because his experiences is so interesting. Seeing his surroundings after decades! We should help him to become a traveller with good gear by donating somehow. The catch is that he should regularly post his stories on UA-cam for us to admire. The process can also help him stay clean and make a good living. & he is very fit! I wish I can be so fit when I get to his age.

For his friend, employer and colleagues, thank you for giving him a second chance and treating him as he deserved. And give it for Mom's love, for never giving up on her beloved son. To his sons, I hope they also find closure and if God wills, may they meet each other again and have that long-deserved reunion. Last but not least, if you ever see this... Mr. Poh Lim, Dennis, and other ex-offenders who are turning into a new leaf... yes, we do believe in you. Good luck, never stop believing that you can do it!

Lim is lucky he still survives at 66, my brother started drugs in LA, 2006, got into trouble by 2010, he was very thin by 2009, I took him For rehab for three months. He got out very healthy and looked very good, I moved him from LA to Houston in 2011. He was very clean till 2015. I saw the differences in him again. Anyway, he died by March 5, 2018, was only 53, studied in UK, got a master degree, influenced by bad people and made bad decision for himself. He is almost five years dead.
He was an engineer in Malaysia and singapore. Studied in Uk and moved to the USA. Anyway, he is always in my memory. Thanks for the video, keep up your good job, LIM. I brought his body ash back to our hometown.

This is very well documented video. I cannot believe such a well-spoken and soft demeanor man was a drug addict. I believe you can be an influence to other drug addicts to make this change perpetually.. I can tell you are good person by nature, tell the drug, you win the battle this time. Thank you so much for the Samaritans around you especially Marc for giving you a job to devote your time and make a living. I’m so happy your mom got you back after 40 years, she deserves you to love her and filial piety the rest of her time with you. I’m sooooo looking forward you to reunion with your sons. Hope that his sons can contact him.
Let me say a word or two about reconciliation. To the sons - the reconciliation is for your own good. So that there are no regrets when your father is gone. Many years of drugs will definitely have shortened his life span so don't take his longevity for granted.
Reconciliation is so that you can close the chapter in your life and move on. Not so much to support him and etc..
Speaking from experience. I reconciled with my father when I was 41 yo and he passed away about 7 years later. So I had closure. On the other hand, my sister did not meet my father till on the last morning of his life....
