Excellent presentation! Makes me think they should have put a PL mount on the 6kPRO. Having the ability to swap lenses directly from one camera to the other would a great asset to many who want to remain within the BM eco system and have it’s color science throughout.
I would like to give you some feedback on this youtube video. The main thing that I notice was with the audio like it sounded a little loud in the mid vocal range. Once you fix that I would say your content will be so much better
Hey Rob Productions! Thank you for the comment. I do understand some of these items can be pricey, but as the saying goes “Buy once, buy nice, buy cheap, buy twice”
Hello, what is the model for your Bright Tangerine baseplate? Did you have to attach anything else to have the correct lens height and so the matte box fits?
Hey @mikes4459! Thank you for checking out the video! The Bright Tangerine baseplate is the LeftField 3 BMD Ursa QR. It comes height adjusted for matte boxes, however I usually use clip on ones (its just easier).
Thanks for the video! How do you find these GL rehoused Sigmas? Are there downsides in comparison to the original cine version? I notice there are perhaps not as many and as long focus marks for example...
Hey @Nicolapaoli4561! My apologies for the late response. I really enjoy my GL Optics Sigma. I only have the 18-35 and frequently rent the 50-100 (the one from Sigma). I actually got my lens a few months before Sigma announced theirs (talk about timing). Since I don't usually use Sigma's 18-35, I can't really comment on the focus marks from lens to lens. However, my lens vs the Sigma 50-100, mine is a tad bit more Magenta, not sure why. Build quality is solid on both lenses, but the focus gear doesn't match from lens to lens (different companies). I appreciate GL Optics as a company and would get more of their lenses. However, since Sigma actually rehoused theirs, I would go with that if I could.
So do you actually power ON the camera, monitor, transmitter, etc. before hooking in the signal cables? Or do you just plug them into their respective power source, then the signal, and THEN turn everything on? And is there any sort of toggle switch for your battery, or does everything get nice right when you plug in the Dtaps?
Hey J. Oakley! At the start of the day, I’ll usually plug everything in first, including the SDI cable to the monitor, then power on the camera. As the camera is powering up, I’ll turn on the accessories. As for the battery, it just works when plugged in. As long as there is a battery on the camera, the D-tap powers the accessories. When I use house power for the camera, I’ll still have a battery on the back to power everything else via the splitter. I hope this helps! Thank you for the question!
@@chriswarren112 so you plug everything into the power source (battery) first…then hook up the signal cables (sdi)…and then power on camera, monitor and/or EVF, and an other accessories. In that exact order, Yes? I know there is a proper way to do it, but I’ve seen people explain it in different ways, ie: plug in all signal cables FIRST, then plug camera and devices into the power and turn everything on. And some say they “haven’t had any issues yet”, in regards to frying HDMI/SDI ports. I currently use the pocket 4K and I’m thinking about either this or the G2. And I’m wondering if folks who use the bigger Ursa cams have the same anxiety. There has been frequent debate about powering accessories separately because of this issue.
@@j.oakley9588 Yo! My apologies for the late reply, May has been a busy month. You are correct. I’m not too stressed about power issues or frying ports, mainly because the brands I get for cables/splitters are ones I pay more for.
@@chriswarren112 this is more or less the same as i am doing. I have more or less the same CameraRig setup. Same camera and same focus and monitor. I don't use an EVF, but i use Teradek Bolt 4K LR 750 transmitter on the camera. I had to create a special cable for powering the Teradek through the EVF 12 XLR port. I use the Vmount Batteryplate from BM and for some reason that is limited to only 1.5A output, meaning a BM Video Assist 5" monitor and a teradek cannot be powered at the same time through the Dtap port on the camera and a splitter. So that's kind of a bummer.... Ever had any issues/limitation in that regard with your Gold mount battery plate?
Fantastic rig man! I’m considering purchasing the 12k myself. I have an upcoming short film I’d like to use it on but my main concern is the low light capabilities. How’s your experience been with this camera in low light? Thanks in advance for your time 🙏🏻
Thanks @FullResolutionMedia! I apologize for the late response. I usually keep this camera at ISO 800, however I have pushed it to 1250 and even 1600 with little noise. This camera does need light, but I do think if you went downtown and shot, you can get exposure.
@@chriswarren112 No worries! I have another channel @GlenReed and I understand it can be a challenge. Thanks for the response, I went ahead and bought the camera. Loving it! It does have noise if you push it, but even then the noise has an organic feel to it and is so small since it's downscaled anyways.
Hey! I'm so sorry for the late response. I purchased the camera after the price drop, and some of these accessories have traveled from camera to camera. I'd say somewhere in the $12K-$15k?

Great video, Chris. One question: what's the SmallRig top handle that you use? Can't seem to find it.
Search For Arri Alexa Top Handle
Thank you! Helped a lot
