Hello and welcome to Saabkyle04! UA-cam's largest collection of automotive variety! In today's video, we'll take an up close and personal, in depth look at the all new 2014 Mercedes-Benz S550.

During this presentation, we will take a 1st person look at what the vehicle is all about beginning with the start up, performance data, fuel economy, the occasional track data, and build quality. Also, I will teach you how to use most of the interior and exterior features in a detailed fashion, that before, you could only get from going to a dealership yourself! Throughout the video, I will highlight key styling and unique differences about the vehicle, any available options, and of course it would not be an enthusiast car video without the good ole engine portion with rev and exhaust note with interior and exterior perspectives. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

Agreed. The S-Class renders in 2021 were kind of a let-down, considering the center console to have tablet-like screens instead of the revolutionary dual-infotainment system with a cover on the top. Also, not to mention the circular A/C vents were replaced with typical rectangular vents that are common with other brands instead of keeping the car “ ultra-modern “ and “ iconic “.

DJL Cyber dam. Are you for real fam ??? That sucks , I just bought me a 2018 s550 with all the features from the maybach except the rear passenger recliner full extension ( with the passenger seat folding , litte business tables and the little fridge ) oh yea and the v12 but everything else I added to it . Costed me a extra $12 k oh yea and I got a original color that nobody going to have is a mix of ( maroon /black/burgundy with glitter ) that it’s being done by the dealer and let me tell you the color looks so fly . They should of kept the same concept and just made it a little better like they always did . That tablet stuff are good for ( Nissan , Chevy , Ford etc. ) you know where I’m going with it . Not for no foreign cars smh That sucks tho 😢
Embrace The Pain I agree. The tablets look easier for car robbers to steal instead of the dual LED screens. Used as the speedometer and the infotainment system. In one video, they recalled the Mercedes Benz S class to be revolutionary in design, royal, yet ultra-modern. The exterior of the 2021 S550, maybe. However, the interior didn’t seem to top it off.
DJL Cyber I agree , if that’s the new design than I’m good and going to stay with my 2018 and probably upgrade to a 2020 maybach.. but let’s see what happens , because like you said the 2021 looks so easy to hack for thieves . Benz was always known for their unique look and styles that everyone always copied of them and damn near impossible to steal . Benz and bmw always came up with everything first than the rest always copied of them . It looks like that’s going to be gone now 😢 and hope not . God please let me be super wrong on what I just commented 😭😭
It's not a home soundtrack, it's a painstakingly put together voice over that I have to compile from scratch. This car is so technical, I had to do it based on time constraints. That's a very trivial thing to complain about being that all the information is there. If I do it, I do it for a certain reason, if it makes my life easier and makes filming these cars for you and everyone else easier, then it's a no brainer for me to do it.

I have been in one IT IS SWEET ! There is heated arm rest ,seats,steering wheel,even the back! Moveable back seats ,cooled everything!

Alright,I used to be a BMW fan (not fanboy),until yesterday , when I got to sit in a 2014 S Class. The 7 series is a cheap piece of shit compared to that.
But as it has quad zone climate control,I don't see any switches for the rear climate...how does it work ? Maybe through the rear entertainment system,but I don't think so.
I'll always consider the 7 series to be the poor man's S Class.

Great review. Even from computer speakers, the 13-speaker, 590 watt Burmester stereo (standard) sounds impressive. I can only imagine what the upgraded 24-speaker, 1,540 watt stereo sounds like.
I did want to point out (and help you) that the front glass panel of the panoramic roof system DOES in fact slide. It both vents and slides over the fixed rear glass panel.
You review was pretty in-depth, so I'm sure it was just an error.

Nice to see they redesigned the window switches and went back to rocker style. (6:09) On the W221 it's impossible to find the driver side window switch without looking. Half the time I roll the rear window down or fold the mirrors in :)

Kyle, last years S class had a 4.6l V8 not a 4.7l V8. The 4.7 is new for 2014 which is why it produces more power.

Hey how's it goin' folkz? I just got through watchin' this video and i don't know if anybody noticed but when you look at the RPM gauge, speed gauge and the bottom of of tha steering wheel it kinda forms a smiley face. LOL

very comprehensive review. you hit everything, I think, but the collapsable storage bin in the trunk. Next time, please check your audio settings, the sound kept dropping out. You can compensate for that on any good video editing software like iMovie or Final Cut Pro X.

First off I'm a current S-550 4MATIC AMG Driver (2008) I love the new model (W222), I love the new interior sounds and chimes however I HATE the horn sound when looking the doors. But I can live with it, In addition I don't like that MB decided to reduce the fuel tank size from 23.24gal on the (W221) to 21.9gal on the (W222) and I love the new fuel % gauge, also for the first time the S-class will display the engine temp in F not C. And the pano roof DOES open not just TILT. I'm waiting 4matic.

My only criticism is that the doors didn't 'clunk'. They sounded weak. I believe luxury cars should have a nice sound to the doors.

The signal and brake lights being the same bulb really bothers me. I wish the USDOT would allow the Euro style tail lights...

The all-new S-Class is a replacement to Maybach
And we're expecting a new Pullman edition of the 2014 S-Class to confirm that soon.
This video has serious audio problems the levels of the voice over are way lower then the live video so you turn it up to hear it and then BOOM ! It's way too loud when the live audio kicks in. This is easily fixed when your editing if you check your audio levels closely.
Kyle had recently posted a picture of an upcoming review of one on the Saabkyle04 Facebook Fan page. So my best guess is that he'll have it uploaded sometime next month due to him being busy attending to new vehicle launch events :)

Forgot to show the fridge in the back seat behind the armrest. Would've liked to have seen the air ride suspension in action, otherwise a really in depth review. Aesthetic wise, don't care for the brown in the front as a two tone nor do I like rectangular exhaust but everything else is perfect. It only gets slightly better with added leg room for full recline without pushing up the passenger seat in the Maybach but that is way too overpriced.
