Thanks for the wonderful video as usual Dr Solar. I'm positively surprised that these DEYE inverters are sealed and IP65 certified whilst still having fans. They are definitely in a class of their own. Please I'm joining the other commenters in asking for a thorough comparison between the Deye and the Lux inverters. Keep up the good work.
I don't have a LuxPower inverter in my possession so it won't be a fair video. Once I get one I will. As to the fan. I have asked the question too. The heat sink is fairly large but when you decide to charge at 120 amps you will generate a lot of heat.
Hello Dr. Solar. Thanks to you, I have ordered my own Deye 5 kW hybrid inverter. I hope I can use it to charge a battery with cheep rate grid power, and discharge battery during daytime when grid power is expensive.
Congrats on your decision. You will love the inverter . Yes you can do time of use and select the times you want it to charge the batteries. Thank you for watching
Marco A. Rosado Noise decibels of Deye vs big heat sink of LuxPower especially when both are placed indoors makes the LuxPower an inviting prospect. The performance, ability to have a more configurable interface with Deye would that make it the only plus or performance of Deye as a Grid-tied/hybrid inverter is what I’m trying to explore as well. I’m convinced Growatt still has some ‘watt’ of a ‘growing’ to do, if you pardon the pun😀
Thank you for your comparison. Very helpful. We've also had some issues with the GW's and are in a high humidty and dust environment with various failures. Found this researching the DEYE so will give it a go. Thank you.
Battery Voltage range. I know Deye claim 40-60V battery voltage range, but I know from experience (8KW version) that the discharge current rolls off below 44V. Do you know if the Growatt is any better in this regard?
2Growatts spf5000es offgrid inverters failed me in the last 6 months. A newer model(11401) was procured and installed .The error message and shutdown around, 1am-2am, restarted within 2weeks. What could the matter be in your opinion ? I gave up on growatts. Is the DEYE have an automatic switch ON function? or I need to switch it ON manually again when the power resume? As I see in the bottom have a power ON/OFF button. Thanks..
The power button turns the inverter off and on. If PV or the battery is present it will come on with no need to touch the power button (if in on position)

I have deye5k inverter and use lithium battery without bms, yet i see critical issue: charge voltage i'm setting in battery page are not properly used, inverter use bigger actual voltages. I think this is normal for lead acid batteries, but it isn't ok for lithium. So, for lithium to be safe deye REQUIRES smart BMS which can talk to it. If i knew that limitation in advance - i wouldn't spent extra money on deye. (my batteries are non standard 2P 12S 2P, finding proper BMS is pain and expensive)
@@drsolar that's what i use, yet it still charges with voltage above ones i've set. I can limit voltage in "time of day" feature, yet it doesn't work for solar charge, which goes above that, so the only limit should be voltages in Battery config. As of now i've set 48.6V there to have it actually stop charging at 50.3V, yet i can't trust it will just work that way as actual V is bigger than set voltage.
