      Victron is not doing itself any favours producing noisy inverters and MPPT controllers that 1 make such a noise and 2 over heat in normal operating conditions. I can understand why Liveaboard cruisers are moving away from them. Hell was no way I was having such a loud thing running my home. Let alone having one in the same Hull I sleep in. 🖖 ✌ 👍

    Justin, great choice on the Deye inverter. It does appear to be an excellent quality component. Your friends' inverter sounds like it's cooking itself from the inside out. I don't think it's going to last very long unfortunately. Great video Justin. Thank you. Cheers.

      The Deye inverter we picked is very well built. you can buy them off the shelf to 50kW , Larger if you order them. They also make small and very large transformers. All commercial grade stuff. There is a Solar expo on in China and i have had a friend over there and he got an invite to go to the factory for a tour, I am waiting on the photos from him.

    AC hum is normal in LV inverters as they do carry a large Transformer, another problem you be having is that hum resonating with some part of the actual housing of the inverter. You make need to dampen that, if it is the case. For your own peace of mind double check the connections and check for any loose wiring.

    • @JustinCaseSolarPower
      @JustinCaseSolarPower  Рік тому

      It is not normal for new well designed low frequency inverters to hum or buzz. Mostly the ones that do that are the ones made from bolt together steel sheet construction. The Deye is also a Low frequency inverter. it is made from heavy molded aluminium and the cover and inlets / outlets all have rubber seals. So they don't suffer from that vibration or dust and moisture problems you find in some low frequency inverters. I see the Victron gear is no longer on the federal approved list anymore anyway. So the quality and other problems there gear has only matters to the people that have them.

    Greetings Justin from Zimbabwe in Africa, hope you’re well. Is your Deye 1 phase or 2 phase and is it grid tied or not? Looking to get one & fiddle around installing the CT Clamp so I don’t backfeed power into the grid as I’m on a prepaid meter that doesn’t allow it.

    • @JustinCaseSolarPower
      @JustinCaseSolarPower  3 місяці тому

      Here is a simple workaround. ua-cam.com/video/-n81d4-R6Fw/v-deo.html otherwise you need to use the ct, so the inverter knows you're on grid, and you can then program it properly not to feed past the ct. Or to feed power past the ct to grid. I am 230vac single phase 50Hz. I am off grid. But I have a main inverter I use as a pretend grid to show people how things work.

Working that good that we just purchased The Deye SUN-5K-SG04LP1-AU for the next stage of the video series. Should be arriving in a week or 4. Hard to say with the shipping being what it is right now. 😒. Watch my last video my friend. Remember How i have the unit installed. For me it does everything we need it to do.

      Yes it will run a bore pump. You can even buy 3phase units to run 3phase pumps welders and anything ells the requires Australia, 400 V officially, (but in practice often 415 V), 50 Hz . They are a low frequency inverter. Just ask George at Green Bank. 0447 447 554 or email him contact@greenbanks.com.au He knows fare more about them then I do. He sells and installs hundreds of units big and small , Single and Three Phase.

    The Deye fans kick in on heavy load as well and you will hear them especially after about 2 years of use. But as I said that is only on heavy use and does not last very long. This is evident in 5k and up and is unavoidable on any inverter. If the Deye fans ever become to loud, just change them out.

      yes all fans make noise as they age. the fans are on the back of the unit and very easy to change out. This summer when i have the inverter under heavy load from the house AC units we will be making another video just on that point. I am not new to solar or off grid. Been off grid many years now. I tell it how i see it. Right down the line. If you don't like my videos then don't watch them. Some people cant handle the truth even when its videoed by the owners of these things. So you do understand that right, The owner of that bit of rubbish noisy Victron inverter come to me for help after he had No joy from the installer or Victron. That unit was just 2 months old, and made that noise from new.

    I don't think that noise is normal at all. I have never heard an inverter do that before even the really cheap modified sine ones.

      As you can see blow it's not just one person. They have failed to help many with this problem I would think. These are the sorts of things Sigi and I took into consideration when looking for an inverter that would, Do everything in one package and last us 20+ years. We read a lot of forums and I went to the Yacht clubs and talks to lots of liveaboard cruisers.

      Oh dear, I have a Victron that sounds the same. They need to get their shit together. 😒 "

      I bought my 4kw Magnum inverter in 2009 and its dead silent even today. The only noise it makes is a slight fan hum when the inverter is in high powered grid charging mode which I only use that mode when we expecting a storm and I top up the batteries.

      @NormanMcGregor exactly mate. Low Frequency inverters should not make any hums or vibrations at all. Apparently this is normal for Victron's. Glad i did not get one, that if for sure. 🙃👍

    USE THE RUBBER FEET FOR THE HUM. Not a fan of Victron tho. One went up in black smoke!! Never again.

      All the Victron's make a hell of a noise. Victron tell them its normal for low frequency inverters to make that Noise. Well Its Not Normal, That noise is due to very poor construction of the inverter. ( poorly built case).
