Merry Christmas everyone! Please accept the humble gift that I can share with all of you... a tutorial on how to build a 48V solar power system with a 3.5kW PV array (upgradable to 6.5kW) using 500W Trina Vertex solar panels and a 5kW Deye hybrid inverter. This solar power system is the ideal setup for a household with an average monthly electric bill of 4,000 to 5,000Php.
NOTE:
Due to the demand of my international viewers, this video is in English. All the parts needed in this build are listed down below and can be purchased via One Point branches all over the Philippines.
ADDITIONAL INFO: At @15:09 and 21:10 marks, make sure to select "Zero Export to CT" and checked "Batt First" (under System Work Mode) to avoid exporting energy to the grid if you don't have net metering installed. Also, remember to install a "Rapid Shutdown Device" on your system as required by NEC and PEC when applying for a net metering.

Sir, ganda ng presentation at step by step mas klaro kung naka schematic diagram lalo na pictographic mas madaling makuha ng mga nag uumpisa pa lng na DIYer, sana sa susunod na informative video meron na parallel na connection ng "Deye" hybrid at pano e connect ang communication cable galing sa battery to master and to slave inverter. at ma explain kung bakit optional na ang ATS or kung sa hybrid lng or dapat kung naka hybrid on/off grid configuration

One question when i start without battery... same starting sequence of the Inverter? And perhaps someone can give me an hint how to calculate the right breaker between inverter and battery. I have two strings (200v 2kW and 280v 2,8kW) on my fassade. Kind regards Michael
And by the way: has someone a 3phase home and a meter which tolds the Inverter to give as much power to the one connected phase as the sum of all three phases?

I would like to ask if it's possible to follow this guide without buying the battery for now. I really like this set up however the battery is really costly. I plan to follow this guide to the dot so I plan to buy the battery omce I have the budget. Appreciate your response! Thank you in advance! More power to you, your channel, and your advocacy! However, we're looking forward to the future savings this will save us and would like to start with the grid-tied setup then upgrade to hybrid once our wallets allow us. Thank you so much for this tutorial, sir JF. Through your tutorials, I was able to build a 48V system to power all of our appliances, specially the aircon.
I used SRNE 5KW (based on your other videos) but it only lasted for 6 months. I forgot to turn off the DC Isolator switch and the inverter while adjusting the Solar Panel setup.
I have 36 pcs. of 120W solar panels na naka 18S 2P. Di po praktical yung 500W kasi hindi available dito sa province namin tsaka hindi akma sa type of roof ng apartment namin. Bumibili ako ng 2 to 4 pieces every week that is why I need to re-adjust the MC4 connections tuwing magdadagdag ako ng solar panels.
Not sure what happened but bigla na lang may umusok sa loob ng SRNE Hybrid Inverter while I'm in the process of disconnecting and connecting MC4s (naka-on DC Isolator and Inverter while doing it). And then yun na, hindi na gumagana yung SRNE hybrid inverter. I checked my connections and tama naman.
I'm trying my luck on this much expensive Deye inverter. Bumili ako through online ngayon lang dun sa One Point sa Lazada (I even mentioned your name while chatting with them). Hopefully, this inverter is more durable.
One question lang po: Pag nakapasok ba ang tubig sa isang connection (positive MC4 ng one panel connected to Negative MC4 ng next panel), posible bang magdulot ng pagkasira ng mga panels on that series (e.g. short circuit)?
Magandang araw. Sa pag-install, kailangan siguruhin na naka-off lahat ng mga breakers, isolator switch, inverter etc. para maiwasan ang arching.
Tungkol naman sa tubig, kahit kailan hindi po eto naging mabuti kapag elektrisidad ang usapin. 😊👍

We are in Cebu City and the electric grid here uses line to line. The Inverters that are available here are EU standards. the Input and output terminals are L-N-PE. How do you safely wire the inverter? I've purchased 14 550 watts Trina panels using your discount since I'm a follower of yours and I'm also thinking of purchasing a Solis S6 inverter. Which inverter to you prefer? The new Solis S6 Pro 6KW or Deye 5KW? Which one will you recommend? Thanks

Good day. It’s almost the same with 3 phase. The only difference is calculation of safety devices, disconnecting means and conductors ampacity and voltage. You must use the square root of 3.

Php -> Philippine Peso… no need to use usd, you just need to understand the tutorial.

Mr. Legaspi, what is the benefit again on the second PV array (3.0KW) that you parallel with the 3.5KW? Is the 3.5KW PV enough to charge the battery while generating energy for the house load?
When purchasing the items on this design, do you have any specific store to buy these parts? As for the smart metering, do you have to ascertain from the company that you can get a smart meter (does the company provide it?) or they allow net metering on your installed PV system?

Q1 - There will be more (almost twice as much) energy production capacity that can be either stored on ESS (energy storage system) or exported/sold back to the grid (distribution utility provider). Note, that this requires net metering.
Q2 - I made that crystal clear in the video, I have mentioned a “one-stop shop” from One Point of sir Jason Chua as the sponsor of this video. If you reside in the Philippines, you can get in touch with his company to purchase all the parts.
Q3 - You can apply that from your power company that provides your electricity, of course with some requirements.

Can you enlighten me on battery parameter setting which is a Blue Carbon 48v 200ah with a built in bms and if possible can I go totally off-grid with this set up, thank you sir.

One thing I noticed is that you did not show the earthing on the Inverter's ac out/ac in. Could you please describe how you would run your earth/ground wire going to the house and the ground wire coming from the utility(AC in) with respect to the inverter?
I am so confused as to how the gronding would work in these systems. Would you do the earth neutral bond at the main DB or at the inverter?

Kung 12V system po yan gamit ang LiFePO4 battery, nasa 80A ang max discharge current na huhugutin ng inverter mula sa battery bank at yon ang dapat masunod kasi mas mababa ang charging current na 40A lang. So 80A x 125% = 100A ang rating ng MCCB. Pwede nyo din i limit ang discharge current para hindi masagad ang inverter.
