Hey Robin, some info on numbers and A1c. It's great that you are tracking daily. Just know that what you track daily is that moment in time. A1c is the average over 3 months. You likely had really good numbers that offset your daily ones. I hope this helps. Type 2 since 1997. Please keep being an advocate for yourself. You know you best! Take care! 😊❤🤗

I had a heart attack in 2020. I’ve always had high blood pressure. I finally found a preventative cardiologist and he recommended wegovy for me. Over the period of 10 months I moved from obese to a normal bmi. I also decreased my blood pressure meds and was able to avoid a cpap machine. My sleep is great now, I have well controlled blood pressure on a very low dose of meds. And I continue to take wegovy every two weeks as maintenance and it is great. I can walk long distance, exercise, and have so much more energy and time in my day. I encourage you to speak with your endocrinologist about mounjaro or ozempic, this can help with weight and blood sugar control.

Both those meds can cause permanent stomach paralysis and I would never take that risk. Glad your health is getting better.

@@talksfromtheheart every med has benefits and risk. Is the controlled blood pressure, and decreased risk of a second heart attack enough benefit for me. Yes. And I’ve never had any side effects. This med slows your gastric emptying. There are decades of research that have gone into GLP1s, and one person out of 100s of 1000s, is not a risk that I have any connection to.
For those with T2D, the benefits of sugar control outweigh the risks of living with uncontrolled t2d.

Robin, good for you. Most people won’t change. I had the same issue with metformin. My whole family on my moms side has type 2 except my cousin who has type 1. My nurse practitioner took me off of it and put me on bydeuron and my A12 went from 8.9 to 5.9. I lost 65 pounds too. You have got this girl.

Im 55, also diabetic for over 10 years now, i started on metformin and got off very quickly, ive been on insulin since the beginning also. Earlier this year my diabetes which was for the most part controlled went crazy. I ended up changing drs and changing all of my meds up and it is sooo much better! I also wear a glucose monitor now and it is such a great help!! Good luck on your journey and be loud about your meds and finding meds that work for you! They are definitely out there!!

Robin I was on met for in for years and the GP was telling me I had IBS. I was always on edge but now they have finally changed my meds to Forxiga which have made a big difference. I’m in the UK but I’m sure the meds would have the same name. Hopefully you can get the right one for you. Take care xxx

They tried alternative oral meds, same thing. Recently found a new doctor and what a difference. Keep looking until you find the one for you. Good luck!!

I had doctors that didn’t listen to me all my life. Now that I’m dealing with my son’s diagnosis of idiopathic juvenile arthritis the pieces are falling apart in place. I’ve had the same symptoms as a child but was blown off because I was fat. The problem is I wasn’t fat until the pain became too much and I began to slow down. Definitely find a doctor that will listen to you. I finally did and I’m finally feeling better.

I switched from metformin to metformin xr and the bathroom issues stopped. At one time xr was taken off the market but now there is a new formulation or generic but it works! My doctor says the a1c is what she watches the most but wants me to drink more water to help lower the daily number

Yes 🙌🏼 totally get the high numbers on type 2, mine were always over 350 something & I felt horrible , always exhausted , had no energy at all. I tried other oral meds & they made me more ill to my stomach. Ugh. 😩. Then my dr left me on met & taking 1 shot a week of ozempic and my sugar is 125-140. Really good for me. 👍. I’m still getting use to the shot.
Hope u figure things out, I know it’s hard.

I am type 2 and have been for a long time. I hated metformin for the same reason. I am 5'1" on a good day. I was almost 400lbs. I did the drastic move and had the gastric bypass done 20 plus years ago and it 100% worked for me. My sugars and A1c are where I need them, but I am now having to check my hemoglobin 2xs A week. Your A1C is the average of 6 months. If that's low you are doing great. Don't be hard on yourself.

When you misspoke and said “I dont want to remember” lmao
Also metformin - I dont have diabetes but I do have insulin resistance and Ive been taking it for a few years. It definitely helped me with weight loss but it comes at a cost because I had the exact same issues as you did. But weirdly, theyve gone away over the years. I mean I do still get issues now and again but waaay less than I used to and Im on the highest dose, 3 pills a day. How long had you been taking it? Did the side effects alleviate at all over time? It also helps to avoid sugar and not eat too much fat cause that can trigger the no.2 problem lol
