Thank you for bringing your light and magic to this community as well. The neuroscience of Gentle Somatic Yoga explains how this style of movement is both different that traditional hatha yoga as well as how it is different than other Somatic movements you may encounter. If you want to explore the magic for yourself, there is a playlist here on this channel that can teach you more about why this works wonders on most everyone and how it can be adapted to fit individuals needs. Let us know if you have the desire to learn more beyond what is available here on UA-cam as we have livestream workshops, online courses, and other offerings depending on your inner calling to go further. ~In Service, The GSY Team
This was magical. In just a few minutes I eased tension in my neck after a long day of driving yesterday. So interesting how this works. Thank you sooooo much.

how does this work? i know everything's connected but feet are a long way from the neck! I'm so confused. The more I see my osteopath and the more I learn about my body the more confused I am to be honest.
Hello. I'm so sorry, I didn't see your question above until now. Have you been to my website? There is so much to share with you. I will try my best to give you a bite sized answer here: Over time, the body accumulates the effects of stress. This can create something called sensory motor amnesia (SMA). With SMA a person temporarily looses voluntary control of their phisiology, specifically muscle groups. In Gentle Somatic Yoga, through a technique called pandiculation, we help students turn on parts of the brain (like a switch), and a person can come out of SMA. It does take practice to make the postive benefits last, but only until the brain learns the new pattern (if practiced properly, 20 - 40 days). Muscles can return to thier optimal length in a resting position. If you have any specific questions you can email us at customercare@gentlesomaticyoga.com. And, for your convenience here is the link to my website. James Knight www.gentlesomaticyoga.com/
