    Thanks for watching this somewhat slow-paced video. Strangely meditative in some sense... Still, within the 22 minutes of (almost uncut raw) video you'll see me unbox the device AND shoot a video of the sun, stack it and edit it. I am fully aware that the ASIAIR is not the best way to go about shooting video of planets, the Sun or the Moon, but the ease of it all is almost compensating for that (IMHO).

      Thank you. I have another video in preparation that will dive a bit deeper into the process of shooting solar images. That will take some time though as I am new to it myself :P

      Please share your results. I am a complete noob at solar. Yet I have a video in preparation that will show me stumble to a more proper image. Hope to learn along the way (and teach by documenting it)

      I’ve found it is - as is planetary - a whole different ballgame compared to shooting/processing DSO.

      @@KopLamp Very cool! Can you attach a hard drive to that thing and save there?
      I use a Raspberry Pi for astroberry so I have a few 256gb flash drives that I save data to and transfer out when I'm ready to process them.

    • @KopLamp
      @KopLamp Рік тому

      Yes you could do that. Although the onboard eMMC storage should theoretically give you the best performance.
      Actually you should run everything off of a laptop if you want the highest FPS. But I like the ease of the ASIAIR so much.

      It is a nice tree indeed. I once cut all roots in a circle for the tree to be moved to my front yard, but that never happened. Cutting the roots didn’t affect it in any way. The tree is actually the perfect spot for a permanent pier 🧐🤓

      @@KopLamp 3 years ago I planted a very mature Red Oak (about 15cm caliper trunk and 5m tall) in my back yard to give privacy from next door neighbors second story windows into my back yard. Now it is in the perfect spot to obstruct almost my entire western view from about 70 degrees above the horizon from my best spot to set up! I know exactly how you feel

      If you have the ASIAIR Plus or mini, you should tap the eMMC icon in order to find the Stacking options. On an ASIAIR Pro there will be another icon in that same spot (either USB or the SD card). See 18:22 and onward in the video.

    Very good video Martín, I’m planning to get a similar setup. Which tripod model/brand do you have? It seems more stable for the AM5? Thks for sharing.

    • @KopLamp
      @KopLamp 5 місяців тому +1

      It is the LiteRoc tripod which originally belonged to a CEM40 mount (iOptron). In order to mount the AM5 on it I use the PE200 pier extension.

    Nice video! How did you get Focus? Was it a lucky guess and it just hit it first try? Have you used the focus function? I can get the gain down in focus mode. May be I’ll try in video mode next. Hummm......

    • @KopLamp
      @KopLamp 9 місяців тому

      I mounted the PST with the camera attached already. The focus of the PST as well as the position of the camera in the PST was still the same as with my last session with the scope. Focus was therefor already very close.
      Focusing on the sun is best done in video mode I think. The focus function in the ASIAIR is more tailored to focusing on stars.

  • @user-bb2hw4gi9f

    De 120 mm mini komt in focus op de PST? Goed om te weten.

    • @KopLamp
      @KopLamp Рік тому

      Dat doet ie! De 290MM mini ook en de 174MM mini ook.
      Op de 120MM mini heb ik wel een extra busje op de camera geschroefd (die meegeleverde). Daardoor komt de camera iets verder naar buiten.

    With the ability to insert a micro SD or a USB 3 stick into an Asiair Plus what are the advantages of getting the 256g version vs 32g version? Thanks.

    • @KopLamp
      @KopLamp 11 місяців тому

      The 256gb version is a new iteration ASIAIR if I am not mistaken. It has higher computing power. I think astroworkz on UA-cam has an explainer.
