Would really enjoy a step by step walk through on connecting and auto guiding set up on star adventurer! Enjoy your channel immensely and these videos are extremely helpful!
Thats correct. I didn't need to it worked great right out of the gate with the included USB. (nice surprise) I definitely use a EQmod cable with the EQ6R tho
This is a great min pc for a grab and go rig. I've been using one for twelve months. At first I used it with an f2 135 mm lens ancd a DSLR and then with a Red Cat51 and An ASI585MC Pro camera both rigs also had an EAF installed and I use either a Star Adventurer GTi or a Wave 100i mount. I leave my rif set up and can be outside imaging within five minutes. I have my ASIair mini mounted on the OTA, which hZ given virtually no trouble. One thing though, you need a seperate 12v 5A supply if you are using a cooled astronomy camera, ZWO do not recommend using the ASIair mini for this as it power output is only rated up to 3A
Great info about the antenna, I am a amateur radio operator and what you said makes total sense. I have had problems (very frustrating) losing connectivity close to ASIAIR Plus and that may be the problem. Excellent find!
Nice review. The antenna info was good and made me laugh. I have flown RC planes and helicopters. Interesting idea about mounting the mini under the tripod - makes sense. And it's been since the mid 80s since I was on a skateboard.
Thanks glad it was helpful and I'm glad you enjoyed it. I never thought I would relate this hobby to RC but zwo just had to put that rubber ducky antenna on it lol. Which was a nice add over the old device.
Great explanation about the antenna (which I just replaced with an eBay one because the original ASIAIR antenna broke). How much does staying inside the car affect the signal? I noticed a strong decline, but maybe it was an orientation issue, as you explained.
Depends on a few factors but at the operating range the air is at it should be minimal. 2.4 ghz has better penetration through structures than 5ghz. So perhaps switch bands. Also depending on the RF already present in the area may shorten your range. Thanks you so much glad this video helped in someway. Appreciate you!
I have had my Asi air mini for over a year now, as I cannot image from home I travel to dark sites. I do not do planetary, so USB 3 is not a must neither is a lan port as I am always close to my rig. ! thing that bugs me is I have to gaffer tape the power connection or it will fall out when at the zenith or when doing a meridian flip. A usb drive is a must, as the memory is quite small especially when I used a full frame DSLR.
I've had a + for a year, picked up a mini about 6 months ago.
Learned something new about the dipole orientation!
Thanks!

Interesting. Ill put it on the list and see what I can do.
As a beginner to astrophotography, your videos make a difference. Thank you very much!
I noticed you don't use a "Q-MOD " cable between asiair and SW SA GTI?

Thanks for the lesson. I learned a few things. Do you sell your 3D printed design ASIAIR holder?
Thanks for watching this one! It's still a work in progress!

Neat gizmo!

Another great video ty. Any danger of a video on polar alignment not using polaris? :)
I actually haven't used any other methods yet. I always have Polaris in view in my skies
@@astronotna i did it once but used the app slew controls rather than physical knobs........ :(
