i started from the 6 piece sets. i would recommend saving up 4 70 or something along the lines of that and get the 6 pack of grays and the 6 piece of skin tones. then get the blending seres and then start to work and save up for THE 72 SET A AND B AMND C AND THEN BUY THE REST INDIVIDUALLY.

+Zoey Berrier Its a long term investment. You got to be smart about the colours you start off with and then gradually build your colours. Its so easy to buy colours you'll never end up using if you just choose colours that look nice. To help avoid that you got to also understand their number system to better choose colours that work together. They not cheap, but if you're smart about buying them and aren't impatient, its not bad at all and its very worth it.
Guy interviewing really made sure every individual product was addressed.. Much credit to the Copic Rep.. she explained everything so concisely! Great job both!!

I love these markers so much that sometimes I just walk through the warehouse and touch them, look, sigh, drool a bit, then get back to my desk where I already have a ton. But nothing compares to the stacks and stacks of beautiful, new markers, ready to go to eager artists....sigh....excuse me while I go out and stare at the warehouse for a bit :)
How often do you come to Georgia for their Anime- and/or Comic-Con's?
I've tried every brick-and-mortar-store and online, but none of them carry ALL the Copic Sketch and Wide colors!
I'd like to personally shop in-person at your or any local Copic dealer table not just to get those discounts but to collect all the Copic Sketch and Wide marker colors & anything else from .Too!

I think this Woman is very impressive, her artwork and you know, she really loves her job and getting people into loving the copics.
And yes they're god damn expensive (and you need at least 2 of a kind and you get addicted and want to buy new ones all the time) but its high quality and they make no diffreence between "cheaper" ones like the ciao, it's just less ink. The company let you refill the ink and replace the tips and everything, thats brilliant. They could just be assholes and you know, let you buy a whole new Copic when a tip is a little bit dry or broken or something like that. You can even mix your own colours i mean.. wha.! That video was simply heaven for artists :)
Therefore I am willing to pay so much money for them, cause its QUALITY, something you don't get very often these days (speaking of washing mashines and TVs and stuff that breaks three days after its without warranty...)

+Limemix :3 if you ever come to Malaysia, you should visit an art store in The Curve called Art Friend, they have amazing prices for copics! 1ciao marker only costs around 3 dollars, and one sketch marker goes for about 5 dollars. (I'm converting from ringgit, BTW) If you're a member, they're even cheaper. so yeah, Art friend is a really good place for markers, and I think their sets are pretty well priced too :)

I stumbled onto this video from watching paper crafting videos. What the heck is a copic marker? GREAT video. I learned more than I thought I would. It kept my interest the entire time. She did a great job of explaining the history and purpose of each product. You did a good job of asking the questions your viewers have. Thank you for posting. I wish people would stop whining about how expensive Copics are, and the response, I have no money!
Believe me, If you want something really bad, you will save your money, even small amounts at a time and slowly begin your collection. I don't know of anyone but 1 person that posted on UA-cam that they got ALL of the Sketch markers at once. So stop whining, the best products cost the most money, so maybe you could go without going to Starbucks everyday, or don't go out to movies, it's all about what you really want. The people that say these things usually aren't very motivated. If you find something you like, love, and gotta have, put down that new smart phone you keep eyeing and use your phone that still works...until it dies,then in between you will get some makers. I now have all 358 colors, the airbrush kit, the glitter makers, the multiliners, etc. It works! I recommend beginning with earth-tone colors for beginners. I say this because you can practice brunette hair color and a skin tone to match. Colors to fill in the rest will come. You will know what to get, when you start reaching for a color not on your shelf yet. Both hair and skin are not easy in the beginning, so why not start out by doing a lot of practicing. Watch tons of videos about hair with Copics or skin for Copics. Not all of the videos will you like, agree with, or think they are completely crazy, however there are some videos that really do help with Copic hair and skin coloring. I highly recommend the four books by Copic as they helped me out tons. Don't forget the Shadows book...it's really helpful!
Look for and use coupons. Don't spend more than $5 a Sketch Copic marker...you will get more bang for your buck. Get a Copic swatch book early on. Carry it with you at all times...you never know when you will run into a sale and you don't want to waste your money on a color you already have. My advice is to buy Sketch and never settle for Ciao. I know tons of Copic users that were really frustrated because Ciaos do not come in all 358 colors, they have a round barrel and roll of desks, and they don't have the color number and name on the cap. People use Ciao for various reasons, they are cheaper (but not in the long run, in my humble opinion), the color you want may be in stock in the Ciao but not in Sketch. Be patient!! It will eventually come in stock. My very last color I needed way R81 and no place, even the more expensive had it. So I waited, begrudgingly and patiently as I could. Finally came in an $4.99 was totally worth the wait. You don't have to be an impulse purchaser. When you know what you want, and it finally comes, that's a good feeling. So start that collection. I recommend buying individually and not even in the big sets and I found them to be more per Sketch marker. E00, E21, YR00 are a few good Caucasian starting skin tones. These take more than one layer, but let it dry first. I also love E93 as it is great for rosy cheeks. One combination for brunette hair is E23, E25, E27,E29.
I don't care one bit for Spectrum Noir...couldn't get them to blend at all, and Prismacolor Premier markers are not the way to go, if you are trying to make a maker investment. Spectrum Noir can be refilled, buy why refill something that is worthless? I was very unimpressed with their numbering system and being able to blend with it or without it. Prismacolor Premier markers may have a nice brush tip, but at over $5 a marker, you are starting down the Copic price range, and it would be far better to have been wise in the beginning and not deviate from your plans of having copics because you will fill that gap with substandard marker.
Those are my thoughts, I'd love to work at Copic and I can't wait to see what they bring out each year!

phillyrick copic paper is actually far better than your average, cheap mixed media paper. I’ve worked with copics for nearly two years now and using sketchbook paper can really ruin your art AND your markers. (I know this is a really old comment but eh.)

Wow ! Very informative and you asked great Questions. Thank you for making this video and thank you Copic lady...you are very funny and very informative. I can tell how much you love Copic. I am 100% disabled and when I'm not in so much pain I stamp and make cards. I have some Copics and they made my coloring look great. I wish I could draw but I'm glad someone came up with stamps so I can feel like an artist by coloring them. One day I wish to own every color. Thanks again!

I like the light table but hell I built mine in 2 hours just using 24"x18" frosted plexiglass, some 1x3's, 3/4" backboard and 2 plug-in fluorescent lights that can easily be replace when they go bad and it cost me less than $40.00. Sanded down the edges of the plexiglass so the have a nice rounded edge. Put a nice carrying handle on it for easy transport. Put a set of hinges on it for it to swing open for access to the inside. Hardly and heat produce from the fluorescent bulbs and the the light can go through at least 3 sheets of 3ply bristol. Save you money and make your own because one like I made is a few hundred dollars.
This was a great video. Now I plan to attend the next ComicCon just to visit the Copic booth.
