I have been waiting and looking for ages and I finally found a shop that sells copci markers near me im going today to buy some and I cant wipe this smile of my face!!! ☺
Your Hex Chart is AMAZING!!!! It really helps me to not purchase markers that are almost identical to each other. Loved seeing all the storage ideas in this video. Thank you!
when you are watching this video but you dont even own copic markers 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 edit :update i just got my first 72 set of copics my mom gave it to me as a present for graduation and im crying right now 😂😭
I went to the dollar store and found these little bins with drawers (2 rows). I found you can pop them off, so I bought a few, and took out the drawers, and stacked them 9 layers high. Each little space where the drawers used to be is now a little solid piece for me to stik my markers in. My dad kinda laughed at what I was doing, but was impressed with my layout once I showed him
I can tell you from at least my own experience that I used the lighting grid idea for storage and while they looked amazing in it, the grid was just a tiny bit too small and YES the lids would come off and fall inside at times. I ended up buying a dremel and a round file and filing out just a tiny bit on each of the squares to make the marker fit a bit better. It was SO much work and I don't even use it anymore. I use trays, but if I ever change storage systems, or have to take my markers mobile I'm definitely getting one of these. Thanks for sharing. I have your copic hex chart too!
Nice video. It's great to see how everyone stores their markers. Some people are very creative. Some of the products I didn't even know existed. This is a great help.
Thanks for starting my day with rainbows Sandy!! 🌈 I get crafting money only at my birthday each year so my collection, after years and years still fits in a limited edition Nestle Toll House tin. It works. 😊
Thank you for this video. It was very interesting. My husband did make me a storage bin out of the lighting grids. And if you are not careful the cap can get stuck. I am going to get the one from the etsy dealer. Thank you! Can't wait for your class. TFS. Connie
great video - I just got some copics not too long ago and love them - so naturally I can see my collection growing and will need to build something for storage - thanks for all the ideas
Thank you!! I bought that light ceiling grid and my caps got stuck too! I ended up buying a decorative box in the shape of a suitcase at Micheals and used the plastic canvas mesh as the grid. Thanks for this video!
Hello from Dallas. I used acrylic canning jars, laid them on their sides and used E6000 and hot glue to connect them all. Inexpensive and fun to look at.
The storage ideas are fantastic! And I am soooooo glad I draw my artistic line at not doing paper crafts! I tried stamping and the like several years back and didn’t think it would be something I did frequently. 😋 After watching this however, I WANT THEM ALL!!! 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪
this is the answer to my prayers! I have ordered the insert for the copic bag. I have the one where the markers go in slanted and the caps come off. thanks so much!
Micheal's has wooden milk (40% off coupon) crates that can be used to hold Copic markers. I have 1 modified by adding 2 inch stripe of wood to the back of the crate making it deeper (Copic and markers will stick out about an inch). Then gluing the base back on to it. Then stained the wood to match my desk. The organizer (Milk crate sits on my desk organized/handy when I need a marker).
Loved this video! My Copics are in two Artbins with the marker insert that comes for them, except they have four slots I don't use because they're too tight. It works so far but my second tote is halfway full and I would like to have them all in one case so I might look into adapting some of this solutions. This was one colorful video! Thanks again.
I only have 19 markers so I only need the 36 marker case right now. I keep it upright in my closest when not in use. Other wise I keep it on my table. These are great ideas for more as my collection grows. :)
I use the big cosmetic bags, where I insert cut to the markers' height cereal boxes, in which I put cardboard divivers to divide markers into rows using the color family's order. I enjoy rows more than anything else. The cosmetic bags close with zippers and this way I could take my bags outside the house or go from one room to another
I love your work, Sandy! I’ve begun my Copic collecting journey. I just received the Sketch 72 set B today. I still need quite a few markers to get to 358. I can’t wait to get them all; and because I have SEVERE full set syndrome, I’ll be getting them all ASAP.
I keep my copics in the little clear plastic cases they came in, with the tops off of course, there are four which hold 36 each. And so far so good!, but we shall see! TFS, Annette
So many great ideas. Interesting how many are stored upright rather than horizontally. Is that ok? I was hoping to pop mine in containers on top of a Raskog so I can make my cart a colouring cart to move out of the craft room.
I just purchased the 72 piece Spectrum Noir Alcohol markers and am eagerly awaiting there arrival. So I am storage shopping. Thanks for all the ideas. I will have to have a bin of some kind as I live in a very small apartment and have no craftroom. Maybe someday. lol
Wow such great ideas. Originally I planned to go with the stamp n storage cubbies but as my collection is growing and I seem to like to bring my markers with me I think I may go with the art bin with dividers that you showed. It shouldn't be too heavy. Helpful video.
I found a perfect storage for my copics! I like them all to be in the order one by one, not in the plastic bags. So I took a little cardboard box, cut to the size cardboard dividers for rows, and put there markers in rows! Very easy and cheap!
I have like over 200 markers and only a hand full of refills however I am planing to build my own storage for them, I have a shelf above my desk and I plan to build the copic storage into the shelf so it's always in front of me when ever I need it, since I don't travel it works for me. I rather have the markers set up in front of me that way it's less hassle when I want to use them.
Ciao are smaller, have less ink and you have less colors. Just that. Remember that you can refill them. I bought a 72 set of Copic Ciao, they are amazing!
Can you lift the grid out of the black copic case and set it onto a table and then put the whole grid filled with markers back into the black copic case easily? Thanks for this video!
I have the same setup but Copic no longer makes the black fabric case so I have not replaced it. The company that makes the insert is now called The Gray Barn and they have a case for the new Copic refills. Great for storage.
Thanks for the great video! I keep mine in bags by color family in a overnight cosmetic bag. I found putting them in the right slot was making me crazy! And I like to squash the pens bag around in the bag to get color combinations!
I have always been told to keep any alcohol marker horizontal to keep them lasting longer! That is how I store mine! I store any two-way tip markers horizontally so keep the ink even in them!
Nope. People telling you that are making it up. The only ones that require horizontal storage are the Distress markers. Look at the storage the companies sell - if they sell a case or rack that holds them vertically, store them vertically. If their case holds them horizontally, store them that way, no matter what you put them in.
Just bought the your hex card and filled in with the copic markers I have (42) and it looks so insignificant right now. But, watching your video want to mention that we have the hard cases for another purpose and they can be purchased at Harbor Freight and Salvage at a very reasonable price.
I use Spectrum Noir markers, and the problem is they are hexagonal 14x17mm, where most markers are 15-16mm max, so these will not fit in by far most things unfortunately. I was thinking about some AliExpres cases, usually those with some (removable) pages/flaps, all with elastic bands to hold them, but i feel that would still be a bit of a hassle, and i don't really take my markers anywhere anyway. So i guess i too am just going to buy the Crafter's Companion ones meant for them, though i'd rather have some case i could put down normally or on the side. Guess i am gonna have to dedicate some desk space to them, on my small desk, with not so much space left. That said, my desk needs to be replaced. But, expensive.
I don't have copics (yet!) but I store my prismas in a wine rack thing from Pier imports with little cups in it and stuff. It looks pretty (in my opinion, at least) and it make it pretty easy to find what type of color I'm looking for because I can group by cup (I'm colorblind). I guess it's pretty much just the lazy woman's square rack that a lot of people seem to have, though xp EDIT: Oops, well now I see I'm not the only one! Great minds think alike!
Thanks for your help! I couldn't find the link to your most refilled copics. I would love to see which refills you use most! Thanks so much for your time! Christy
I hope shipments of Copic markers will arrive soon. Some vendors have posted dates in June; others have no clue as to delivery. Do you know if Papercrafters Set A and Set B will be available? I don't see these listed on websites.
+Sandy Allnock thanks Sandy!! I ordered the copic art case and just ordered the insert. I think it will be perfect for me as I can now travel with my markers or just pick up and colour anywhere around the house. Thanks again for this video - Stephen aka your Canadian fan boy 😀
I was lazy and didn't need to travel with mine. I use a cheap, plastic heavy duty tool organizer (Akro-Mills, 24 large drawer small parts storage cabinet model #10124) you can find in a local home improvement store/Home depot online. I have just enough copics(128 total, so 32 in each of drawer holes) I lined the bottom 4 spaces with cardboard, then placed in the copics instead of using the plastic drawers in it. I have So much stuff in two of those things - My Copic collection, jewellery making supplies, beads and tools on the backside of my desk so that all I have to do is reach for whats needed and fits under the window above perfectly.
I used square down pipe cut into copic length and stacked together using my hot glue gun. Also this system can easily be added to. Just needs a back put on so the Copics don't all fall through.
@@SandyAllnock1 yep I plan to get me a few of the ciao Copic however I don’t plan to have a large selection for now. The video gave me ideas for marker storage.🫡
Great video! Thank you. 👍🏻😃 One question though, am I supposed to have my markers standing up? Since the bag/suitcase you showed plus almost every one else in this video have them standing up. I'm new to Copics, and have like (so far) only 30ish. But, I keep mine lying down in a small container. Is that wrong? Thankful for an answer. 👍🏻😉
Sandy, I have the box made out of the lighting grid. The first time I put it together I had the trouble of the caps falling off and had trouble getting the pens out because my not slender fingers could not get between the markers to pull that out. What I did to fix this is make sure that the bottom grid is almost all the way against the bottom of the box I am using. This helps so you don't lose the caps. The second grid I made sure that it is positioned a little less then halfway down the marker. This gives my fingers enough room to slightly move the other markers around the one I am pull out so I can get it. I hope this made sense. If not I can try and clarify.
Dawn Fitch I had the same problem with my lighting grid. I placed the bottom grid on the bottom of my case and set the top grid to come JUST below where the cap opens, as I found that it was the cap that kept getting caught. It works perfectly and I don’t have to worry about being super careful or fighting to get my markers out!
I Actually use an old small suitcase for my markers, its a small bag with wheels so i can travel easily with them. My uncle had made me a wooden grid box with a lid so none got lose or fell out if i ever traveled!
Bonjour Sandy, ton rangement de copic me parait intéressant.
Hi Sandy, good to know I can safely store Copics vertically :o) I noticed you said you wouldn't let your Copics go in the checked-in bagage - why? Will this ruin them? I will be travelling with more than a couple of handfulls (but not a full set though :-)) and due to weight restrictions I was considering checking them in. Please let me know your thoughts on this. Thank you.
@sandyallnock how did you do traveling with the aluminum case and the whole collection? How heavy did it end up being? I went to the blog to see if there was an update on that, but couldn’t find any. I’d love to know any input, as I’m needing to travel with my whole collection, and I’m debating on what’s the best alternative. I definitely don’t want to check in my markers. Thank you!
Sandy, I am curious if you know where or how we can buy the little totes that go inside the big copic storage bag? I really liked the idea I saw that was a Raskog cart with all those bags in the top that were easy to lift out and take with you. I am wanting to do something like that. Any ideas? I've looked on Amazon, Dick Blick, Ellen Hutson, and SSS has it at a great price but is SOLD OUT NOOOOOO...
Such an array of different storage ideas. I have a train case with an insert from copic and another one since I keep adding to my collection. Mine are by color number and easy to find. thanks for sharing. Edna B.
Hi, Sandy. Do you have any ideas for some sort of case that will hold a couple hundred COPIC refills? The one that I really wanted on Etsy is no longer available from T&J. I have their COPIC marker storage case and love it. I know that shop changed their name but for the life of me I can’t remember what the new shop’s name is.
Hi! You most likely won’t see this, but I need a bit of help. In a month my copic collection will double to 146 markers and I won’t be able to fit them all in my broken 72 case. I saw that blue suitcase thing and I really loved it, but idk if they’re still available since when I google they’re nothing. I also need a link to the Etsy shop where you got the small holder part since a lot of my markers were bought individually so I don’t have many plastic cases. Thank you!
I would love to know how I could get the colored pencil cases you have? You had a large and small case in another video, I noticed there are single loop per pencil.
I picked them up at the Dick Blick store so could check on the one v two loops before purchasing. I'm not sure if the ones on the web indicate how many loops they have.
I have 2 separate storage cases 1 for my caios one for my sketches. I have about 68 caios and 42 sketches For the caios I have the 72 set plastic case but I didn't get the set I just bought the empty container and put my own caios in it. For the sketches I have a photo box. It's a clear case that has individual mini cases in them so I can see the markers through them.
Hi Sandy !! Thank you for bringing this awesome Copic Storage System Video for us. Well I just wanted to bring to your notice that By mistake one of the pictures has been labelled wrong. At 10:27 the pic on the bottom right (with Colorful tins) was shared by me on your Facebook Page. It shows Stacy !! :)
Harbor Freight has this case - NEAR IDENTICAL for an AMAZING PRICE! Also w key & it comes w a full block of foam inserts you can even customize! - I guarantee it will be a better buy so I hope this helps some of you starving artists! 👍❤️
I guess artists are beggars and crafters are the rich folk, who have "hubbies", cats and dogs and a million friends they can send all their thousands of handmade cards to - LOL! Sorry, I couldn`t resist because I`ve got only 2 copic markers :)))) Thanks Sandy, I love all your videos, Josi
I'm sorry this is probably a stupid question, but does it "ruin" your markers if you stack them face-up instead of on their sides? The reason I ask is because I heard somewhere that if you stack them face-up, all of their ink drains to the bottom, so you have an exploding tip and a dry tip. Again, I don't know if this is true (I hope it's not, those MDF inserts looked AMAZING[and satisfying] in those cases.) Any answers help!
Pay attention to storage made by the manufacturers. They wouldn’t make vertical storage if their product couldn’t be stored that way-copic makes both horizontal and vertical. The ONLY markers affected by storage direction to my knowledge are distress markers. People keep trying to apply that pen’s problems to every other marker.
I am now a proud owner of 4 copics

I thought you were supposed to store markers horizontally so the ink is evenly distributed...
Only Distress markers.
I thought the same. This makes a huge difference for me! Thanks.
Sandy Allnock this may sound like a stupid question, but what's a distress marker, and how do you tell what kind of marker it is?
I thought so too, thanks a lot for sharing.
I read that also that double ended nip markers should be stored horizontally. So iam a little confused on how to store them. Mmm
Thank you!! I bought that light ceiling grid and my caps got stuck too! I ended up buying a decorative box in the shape of a suitcase at Micheals and used the plastic canvas mesh as the grid. Thanks for this video!

Micheal's has wooden milk (40% off coupon) crates that can be used to hold Copic markers. I have 1 modified by adding 2 inch stripe of wood to the back of the crate making it deeper (Copic and markers will stick out about an inch). Then gluing the base back on to it. this collection is BEAUTIFUL!!!
So many great ideas. Interesting how many are stored upright rather than horizontally. Is that ok? I was hoping to pop mine in containers on top of a Raskog so I can make my cart a colouring cart to move out of the craft room.
I’ve had mine vertical for 15 years. It’s fine. Only distress markers are picky.
Love the creativity!! Have to say the wine rack is my fav.

Sandy, or anyone else that may know. Does the smaller insert from TJandthings that goes into the copic bag fit into a Raskog cart? Thanks in advance.
I bet TJ has the specs on their site...
thanks for your information sandy allnock and anette siverson
I used square down pipe cut into copic length and stacked together using my hot glue gun. Also this system can easily be added to. Just needs a back put on so the Copics don't all fall through.
Were all those storages with the inserts only for copic sketch or both sketch and ciao?😮
Most people use Sketch, so I'd guess that was the majority of them. Crazy how many ways there are to store markers!
@@SandyAllnock1 yep I plan to get me a few of the ciao Copic however I don’t plan to have a large selection for now. The video gave me ideas for marker storage.🫡
Great video! Thank you. 👍🏻😃
One question though, am I supposed to have my markers standing up? Since the bag/suitcase you showed plus almost every one else in this video have them standing up.
I'm new to Copics, and have like (so far) only 30ish. But, I keep mine lying down in a small container. Is that wrong?
Thankful for an answer. 👍🏻😉
With ANY medium, look at what the company who manufactures it sells. Copic sells both kinds, horizontal and vertical. There’s no need to wonder.
You just got 1 subscriber closer to 100,000 subs! Congratulations!
Thanks!!!
Wow Sandy, you are such an amazing person for doing this for us.....so, so helpful!
Cheers!
Thank you for this video! I put my markers in a pencil case I bought from Justice 3 years ago. Lately I haven’t been able to fit my markers in it.
I Actually use an old small suitcase for my markers, its a small bag with wheels so i can travel easily with them. My uncle had made me a wooden grid box with a lid so none got lose or fell out if i ever traveled!
Great video! Thank you! Jenn
Awesome information, thank you for sharing
Hi Sandy,
thank you so much for sharing this video with us!
Why are there washi tape stripes around your copics and some other users?
+Lara S. Mine just mark them as mine when I take them on the road :)
+Sandy Allnock That's what I thought ;) Thank you, have a great day!

Thank you.
Because of how expensive they are...I don’t want the airline to lose them. Refills are flammable tho, so....you shouldn’t put them on planes at all.
Thank you!
It was really heavy...I ended up not liking it and went back to the black case. 😞
Sandy Allnock thank you so much for your reply. I really appreciate your input. It’s too bad it didn’t work out 😩.
How do I find it on the blog... ? Been looking
Did you find it in the description? You might need to click "show more."
+Wendy Cranford I've never seen the bags sold separately
Such an array of different storage ideas. I have a train case with an insert from copic and another one since I keep adding to my collection. Mine are by color number and easy to find. thanks for sharing. Edna B.
Thank you for this video. I get 3 prescription bottles a month, I may try that idea.
Perfect!
Sorry, no.....
Sandy Allnock ok. Thank you. Was worth a shot.
TJ and Things has changed their name now to OurGrayBarn and they do SN and other inserts too now!
Thank you!
Looking for info on where Erin got hers.. Thanks
I would love to know how I could get the colored pencil cases you have? You had a large and small case in another video, I noticed there are single loop per pencil.
I picked them up at the Dick Blick store so could check on the one v two loops before purchasing. I'm not sure if the ones on the web indicate how many loops they have.
+Sandy Allnock, thank you
I have 2 separate storage cases 1 for my caios one for my sketches.
I have about 68 caios and 42 sketches
For the caios I have the 72 set plastic case but I didn't get the set I just bought the empty container and put my own caios in it.
For the sketches I have a photo box. It's a clear case that has individual mini cases in them so I can see the markers through them.
Wow this is what Copic heaven looks like
THIS IS SO HELPFUL 👍🏽😁 thank u 🤓💓
+Riti Poddar oh shoot! I'm so sorry---I had a gajillion pics and thought I got them labeled right. Phoo... :(
Please let tell me it’s better the Copic storage vertical or horizontal??? Many thanks for your video it have a lot of inspiration for me !
Always look at what manufacturers sell for storage. Copic sells both horizontal and vertical. So both are fine.
Harbor Freight has this case - NEAR IDENTICAL for an AMAZING PRICE! Also w key & it comes w a full block of foam inserts you can even customize! - I guarantee it will be a better buy so I hope this helps some of you starving artists! 👍❤️
Thank you!! This is a great video idea!!! I love it...
I admit I just clicked on this because the thumb nail was pretty 😍

HEAVEN . Very helpful video can’t wait to have the full set :D
Thanks!
7:42 the light shining action the beautiful various inks 😂 😍
