@@justinmorgan2126 Since we are making assumptions about each other, I'm going to say that you seem jealous or bitter. You've made 3 comments on this video throwing a fit over people praising him. Most advanced artists can not draw the way that kim jung gi does. Even artists that share the same level of freehanding skill as him did not get there in a minimum of "5 years"- and those that have made it there in such a short amount of time I believe are worthy of recognition and praise. This style of artwork requires significant training of motor, visual, and memory skill that is rare amongst the millions of artists around the world. But you know, if you drew you'd know that instead of making idiotic comments. ;)
I'm convinced there will never be another artist like Kim Jung Gi, a true master in every sense of the word. His death was devestating to hear about. Gone way too soon. RIP.
We lost one of the most brilliant mind of the art world. The fact that Mr Jung Gi draw with immense precise and accuracy combined with his insane photographic memory just left me speechless whenever I saw his drawing process
what amazes me is that he can draw such a detailed picture just out of his mind without looking at anything like a picture or photography.....mad skillZ !
+J Taneli He has an astounding memory, he has of course looked at reference beforehand, but to remember so much information of an object like this, and rotate it and light it from a certain angle completely different from the original reference is completely mesmerizing and outstanding. It´s improvised because there is no previous sketch of the overall perspective and you can tell he is making up the composition as he is sketching. I guess the term is always confusing because some find it implies that he is completely making every design out of his mind, which is not true, he´s a great observer and has a great memory. It´s always amazing to watch him draw.
Carlos Pineda he likely didnt look at something previously. if he had been doing it his whole life he could have imagined it and recalled drawings he had previously done for the ellaborate engine and bodies etc
My thing is: I draw and play what I see and hear in my head, so it is not hard for me to believe that he did *ALL OF THIS* without presketching it in pencil. That's how I've been doing my comic strips my entire life, and that's how I make my music.
I think he's even more impressive than many of the so-called savants, because its not just he has great memories but his sense of proportion and perspectives is so much more accurate ...
master kim draws from imagination, no guidelines no references... he actually gives lectures on anatomy, he says if u learn the anatomy of the human body it makes it easier to draw.. he also talks about fish eye perspective which is where u train your eyes to see the shape and form of every object you see constantly, like u can't just look at it... u have to intensely observe it. every thing you see can be broken down into pieces and simplified with basic shapesn u can't just think about it from one angle but multiple angles its mostly about storing visual memory data in your brain and rally cramming it in there so I t makes it easier to draw
Troll Luhluh hmm...I rely on similar techniques as a cartoonist. I have a photographic memory, and a vivid imagination...but i am NOT as detail oriented as he is. My style is simple and cartoonish.

I see it and I can't believe it. It doesn't seem humanly possible to keep that much information in the human mind and have the talent to bring it into reality with all of the foreshortening, perspective, alignment and character in perfect order.
I really encourage you guys to start doodling like he did. Highlight the importance of observation in doodle art. Kim Jung Gi, for example, is known for his incredible observational skills. He can draw intricate scenes from memory because he's trained himself to observe and retain details. So, rely on observation; it also relies heavily on imagination. But do not forget that it's not just about drawing what you see but also about mastering techniques, such as perspective, proportion, and shading, to bring the doodles to life. Without him, I might have lost all my confidence in doodling and quit art a long time ago. Thank you, Kim Jung Gi.... Rest in peace.
hes so amazing and talented, but by looking and staring at his work it seems like theres no emotion i dont feel one,if theres one maybe WOW and BUSY. which is okay i really admire his like u said details, perspective, proportion, and shading. so i think the lack of emotion comes from Kim himself, Kim was really obsessed to his details and been drawing his entire life since he was young i will never say he forgot having fun he was just focused too much on his details that he didnt think about adding some emotional touch to it. But then theres lets say Laurie lipton, she has kim's traits details, perspective, proportion, and shading but with emotions. tho different styles maybe i just value emotions and message on arts maybe too much tbh XD. Idk its just people have different taste in art i guess :) Archi if you love doodles check out this artist named Mattias Adolfsson i hope u will like his art too :) he and kim has this obsession with details but Mattias art is more doodlelie lol.
@@4nnd711 I think he does have really good image memory instead of photographic. I've met him and had the pleasure of getting to actually watch him do this stuff in person. He's got a special kind of mind; it's almost as if his brain is "projecting" a perfect image into his field of vision and he's just "tracing" what his brain produces. It's magical to see...

I guess in theory anyone of u could do this if u quit whatever you're currently doing(or reduced it into a non-time-consuming part time job) and spent more than a year practicing. But that's why such work deserves respect, for the quality of it as well as the person's willingness to take the leap and make the time. But if someone living in a bad economy working two jobs a day managed to hone this skill on his one off day a week, that really is superhuman ability.
This is not mere skill and practice. This is not an attainable level of acquired knowledge and technique.... This is magic. This is supernatural. There will never be another Kim Jung Gi.
Without noticing, you are actually dimishing his efforts. There is no magic there, just constant hard work and years of pratice and study. There is, of course, some level of personal intrinsec influences, but that does not mean he did not work his ass of to hone his skills. Mozart adresses this very though in one of his letters, saying people think that all comes easy for him, forgetting his years of study and intensive labor in music since he was a child. I'm not offending you, but usually people say that to feel better for not trying so hard.
The pain we admirers of Kim's incredible talent feel can never compare to that of his family and friends, but it is devastating nonetheless. The thought of not being able to see any more of his new work, of not being able to see him again as he performs one of his incredible masterpieces breaks our hearts. Farewell Maestro.
I was so impressed by Kim Jung gi when I first saw his drawings. He is a natural talent, who understands space deeply and the relationships between objects much better than an average artist. His skills in expressing himself with decisive lines is second to none. His talent also includes his vivid memory of minute details of many mechanical systems (cars and engines, for instance), and use them as wish. I was meaning to invite him to give a lecture or a live show at my university for our students. I proposed this to the curator (who's an idiot and severely lakes of a decent sense of fine arts) of our art gallery, but was ignored. RIP, Kim Jung Gi.
he wasn't born with the superpower to randomly remember car mechanical systems... no one is, are you listening to yourself right now? He simply studied anatomy of humans and cars and lots of other things repeatedly for tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of hours learning this

But you know, if you drew you'd know that instead of making idiotic comments. ;)
More like once or twice every two hundred years, in my opinion.
??? What generation? Bro there is no registry of anyone ever doing what Kim Jung Gi was able to do. Maybe once in 5000 years or something like that.

This guy, is not normal.... i have no words to describe this kind of talent!!!
Soo impressive that he goes straight to the details without drawing the basic figures first.
I think he's even more impressive than many of the so-called savants, because its not just he has great memories but his sense of proportion and perspectives is so much more accurate ...
bobby. Yeah that's exactly what I was thinking was right for the details on that

oopalonga I follow this dude. He does most of his works with a brush pen on the spot. No pre sketch or anything
master kim draws from imagination, no guidelines no references... he actually gives lectures on anatomy, he says if u learn the anatomy of the human body it makes it easier to draw.. he also talks about fish eye perspective which is where u train your eyes to see the shape and form of every object you see constantly, like u can't just look at it... u have to intensely observe it. every thing you see can be broken down into pieces and simplified with basic shapesn u can't just think about it from one angle but multiple angles its mostly about storing visual memory data in your brain and rally cramming it in there so I t makes it easier to draw
oopalonga clearly you've never seen this man work live
Troll Luhluh hmm...I rely on similar techniques as a cartoonist. I have a photographic memory, and a vivid imagination...but i am NOT as detail oriented as he is. My style is simple and cartoonish.

The world will never see such a hard working incredible artist (master) as Kim Jung Gi. He inspired a world of artists!
But then theres lets say Laurie lipton, she has kim's traits details, perspective, proportion, and shading but with emotions. tho different styles
maybe i just value emotions and message on arts maybe too much tbh XD. Idk its just people have different taste in art i guess :)
Archi if you love doodles check out this artist named Mattias Adolfsson i hope u will like his art too :) he and kim has this obsession with details but Mattias art is more doodlelie lol.
You were a great inspiration to many artists. You will not be forgotten.
I love the perfect imperfection of his work. How the hell is he drawing this from his mind with no guides or references? True master
Photographic memory probably.
@@elricdemelnibone5241 He said that he doesn't have a photographic memory
@@4nnd711 I think he does have really good image memory instead of photographic. Having photographic memory doesnt help a lot because it overwhelm your mind and senses but if you just have good image and detail memory you can break down what you see as detail instead of just whole image. A lot of people with photographic memory has trouble concentrating and focus on a task.
@@MrDeathCell I think being kinda mindful also helps.

I've met him and had the pleasure of getting to actually watch him do this stuff in person. He's got a special kind of mind; it's almost as if his brain is "projecting" a perfect image into his field of vision and he's just "tracing" what his brain produces. It's magical to see...

Shane Ryan Not all of it. You have to be born with an ability, then refine it over the years.
Autism, probably... it's the only mental condition that could explains such brilliant detail recalling.
Not just years, but his intensity of focus and enjoyment of the act. He can only be a person who really loves to draw

there will be, hes motivated so many young people including me. in fact, im confident ill reach his level one day. one day...
I'm not offending you, but usually people say that to feel better for not trying so hard.
this is around 100,000 hours of practice if not more, he has been drawing for decades this is simply extreme hard work and dedication

RIP, Kim Jung Gi.
this isnt natural talent this is decades of practice... he wasnt born with it. he worked hard to get here, it wasnt luck
he wasn't born with the superpower to randomly remember car mechanical systems... no one is, are you listening to yourself right now? He simply studied anatomy of humans and cars and lots of other things repeatedly for tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of hours learning this
This is not about talent, this must be result of hard working and practice. Amazing
