    i watched alot of videos regarding copic markers and "how to get started" but this was by far the most helpful one! easy explanations of the naming system AND how to use it to your advantage and specific recommendations for skin tones, this was really really helpful! the first time i got some copics i got some "basic" vibrant colors (yellow, red, orange, a lighter blue, a darker blue and a mid green) and then i didnt know what to do with them bc they were so different. now i know what i can get to add. i was worried i had to "start over" from a new direction. i cant wait to spend some christmas money on a few new copics =D thank you so much for the video! this will probably be an evergreen on youtube and i really hope alot of people who wanna get into copics find this video! best wishes

    Where I live, a single copic marker or recharge can cost 2 percent of the averege country salary, it's simply absurd. But the price tag is not the only issue, since recharches fill up the pen about 5 to 6 times, and the full cost will get smaller with time, compered to buying a new pen every time you run out. The other problem is fiding a lot of options of colors to choose from. It takes a long time for local stores to import them and many colors are sold out in weeks after they arrive. It's only viable if you have a decent budget or buy them slowly, and if you use this media all the time. I use alcool markers a lot for academic work, but I haven't got a copic marker yet because I can't invest without being sure I will be able to find the recharges. But once I find a good source, I will buy them very slowly until I get at least 36 to 72 colors for work, becouse it will keep geting cheaper and cheaper to just buy recharges and New leds

    Thank you! But I have a question, in minute 7:25, when you say 1 to 3, do you mean we should “multiply” the base number 3 times?
    That is what you did with V05 (because 5x3=15 and you used V15), is that what you mean? Sorry English is not my first language and I am confused! Great video tho!

    • @VervainHelsdottir
      @VervainHelsdottir Рік тому

      No, they mean 1-3 values away from the starting value. It was early in the video, but they said that the two digits refer to different things -- so the 0 in V05 and the 1 in V15 both refer to saturation, and the 5s both refer to brightness... so V15 is actually only one value away from V05.

      Hey there! Thanks for your comment! Actually I don't have Touch markers and have never tried them, so I don't know what they are like! But Touch is alcohol-based so same as Copic and in theory all alcohol markers work the same way (in terms of how to blend them well together). Maybe I'll make a video later about blending specifically, that could help haha.
