I am a black woman and I support real men like you all day, every day. We need more men like you in our community.
I agree with you
We have these kinds of people in our communities that need reform. Men and women
Saaaaay it!!
We need bw to stop running men like this out of the community before they ask for more of what they can’t handle.
Amen
My wife use to get all mad when I discipline my son. I tell her I am going to raise a man here not a mama's boy
Stand your grown sir 👊🏿👍🏿
Thank you sir
Amen
Catfish
Then shut yout mouth in how your wife raises her daughter.
That’s not a wife
I'm a black woman and we need more men like you. Keep doing what you are doing.🥰
We need more black women like your self to defend us
Macey I agree with you 100% thank you my sista. I get tired of women complaining and making excuses for these young black men.
Macey I agree
AMEN!
Im a Black woman. I thank you and wish we had more Black men like you! I hope the young man wakes up.
Just like my husband. My husband had to knock my son out at 16 and I jumped in it and the fire I saw in his eyes I'll never forget. He said don't you ever get in between me & my son when I'm discipling him ever again, my son had gotten up to 6ft w/ muscles and thought he could cuss his dad out but he found out real quick. Today my son is a 23 yr old Marine vet w/ a 6 figure salary with a wife and building their dream home. He treats his wife like a queen cuz that's what he saw his father do . Now we have a 3yr old grandson and when my husband tells him to do anything he does it. And if I don't like it , I leave the room because I now understand what he's try to accomplish
If he tried that at 16 you already raised him wrong. My kids knew better.
@@LMAOINMEMPHIS you are absolutely right, I thought he was so perfect until he cussed under his breath and his dad heard him. And look at him now on drugs in prison several babies by different women, I wish we had a parenting handbook to go by but we can't all be Perfect Patty 🤷😁
AMEN 🙏 MAY GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY AND I THANK YOUR STRONG SON FOR LISTENING TO HIS DAD AND FOR SERVING IN THE MILITARY AMEN 🙏.
Parents, stop being friends with your children you are the parents. You don't want your kids talking to you like they would talk with their friends. Rickey, you are doing a great job on parenting your kids from what I can see.
Amen. When i take off my flip flop and run after my kids thats what I yell out. I am not your friend, dont talk to me like that!
Amen to that sis. This is far too common in our community
Ricky you are right if those women don't allow the father to chastise their sons trust me God will hold parents accountable for not raising men and not grown boys.
Please, I wish my cousin would read this. Her daughter will Never understand boundaries; she act like they are best friends
Preach Rickey... accountability is lacking in our community. Mentorship is missing in our lives!!
Right
Old school saved my nephew! My sister gave up custody to our Uncle and my nephew is better for it! He can change a tire, paint, landscape lawns, knows God, stay on the honor roll, and work at McDonald's! Hallelujah!
Ricky, Please don't stop doing what you are doing. We need more men like you.
Something I'm surprised to hear....him say hell curse out a women EASILY...NO THATS NOT OLD SCHOOL ignorant ninja shit
Yes we do
Right
They forget it takes a village. We have a lost generation so it's important that we teach them while they're young. I pray for the parents that don't appreciate some one who is teach the babies structure. My baby Grayson is already grounded thanks to Pop Pop. Much 💘
No, we don’t need more men like this one.
I will never forget an article I read in Essence Magazine years ago which plainly surmised that the black mother may be the cause of her black son becoming a sorry (nonproductive ) man. Black mothers do not require the same from their sons as their daughters. As a mother of a son I taught my son that the world will not love him like his parents. Though I agree with everything you’ve said I have to admit I have been guilty of this too. Keep bringing these things to our awareness!!
Not mine. I was married and divorced and managed to raise my son with discipline and education. Today he's got two degrees. However i encouraged his father to assist in his life. I'm with Ricky boys need men in their lives.
I have noticed this with black women also. Some people say I raise my son too tough. I do not except any excuses from him. I hate how a lot of black men live with their mothers until the age of 30 or how moms give them lavish Christmas gifts when they have bad grades in school.
I disagree. The absence of good, strong black fathers is the bigger problem. There are single mothers that raise great sons BUT that’s not how it’s supposed to be. Period. They need fathers.
@@TreasureChest0806 yep. Women can maintain a young man they don't raise them. Trust the amount of info i missed from not having a father is real. The military helped me alot.
Yes. I know one right now. He's early 30s and would take his momma's last dime, while she makes excuses for him😬
Imma say it again, IRON SHARPENS IRON, a real man recognizes it and a real woman respects it!
This right here👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
So true 🦋
Black women raise their daughters and love their sons. Those women who question you about your discipline towards your grandson are the same women who are taking care of and financially supporting their grown ass sons. Keep doing what you’re doing. Sometimes as black women we need to step aside and let these men lead.
Ricky, these women are young . They know nothing about a village, or a Church. They didn't have elders like we did .WE are the elders, they lack respect for us. Don't stop ! Loving u and Kirk this week. Shout out to the mom of said son. Stay in Power!
A lot of the elders are quiet and a lot of them come from the crack era.
Are u kidding me? This is a delusional comment. It ain't only young women who coddle they sons!
@@huneyduluvit ok! If anything the young one's aren't even raising theirs it's the one's that are supposed to be the WISE elders.
I'm speaking about my own family friends, my ol'heads etc. I'm a age where I can comment. I agree with all comments it just seems like women don't wanna accept they flaws when it comes to our boys being reared to real men. The elders ain't out here enough!
Lmaooooo. They are grown
Rickey, 😔💔 please take note of how many of us are supporting you. We love you. And I echo other ladies, we need more men like you. I appreciate men like you. ❤
On average, you guys are mature. With the sexualization of the black women, she is out of place. These younger generations are in trouble, especially without the Most High.
They say we coddle our sons and raise our daughters. I have witnessed this firsthand. I raised my daughter in a single parent home. She is a phenomenal woman. Continue nurturing and training your grandson to be a great black man. 🙏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🙌🏽
If that person did not want to cut his hair 🤦🏽♀️ One day he will get it. I promise you that 🙌🏽
White boys with man buns also get turned down for jobs.
Actually I work for myself, so I can keep my hairstyle. This only applies when you need to seek employment from others. We need to be encouraging our young men to seek entrepreneurship for better mental health.
The day people advocate for us to change our expression you have a deeper issue. None of these white men impress me, nor do I care to wear a suit, nor tie, as if they make up what the norms of acceptance are for our culture. It's utter nonsense..
I was a single Mother, of a Son and a Daughter. I was just as tough on her as I was him. I was loving, but firm. I did not accept excuses. I felt I was getting them ready for world. They had to earn the extra things they got from me. I felt if I gave them too much, they would not know how to appreciate things. They are now both extremely successful in their adult life, and I am so greatful for that. ♥️🙏🏾
Good morning Rickey, I too am a black woman and I applaud you brother for your attitude along with the other black men that are doing the right thing for disciplining our young black men. Keep up the great work.....
That's exactly why these guys are so emotional and in their feelings about everything now..It's really scary but these are the dudes that are quick to shoot another man for something that could have been resolved like men but because there were probably no men around to show them how to be a man and how real men resolve street disputes, they act off emotion, which is taught by their mother because that's all they know..We need more men to stand up for these boys and put some masculinity back into these boys..Please keep it up❤
Unfortunately this society is set up to where men cannot discipline anyone less they be called controlling and abusive. We give (by design) women the right to call the cops on black men for any reason, give them the benefit of the doubt that they did nothing wrong and if they are caught in a lie minimum to no punishment. This country is set up to put men in jail and give women a false sense of superiority and morality, they then obliviously ask rhetorical questions like “why are there no good men” or “why aren’t the men on my level” this has been going on since the ‘70s. Women will always take a deal that benefits them even at the cost of everyone else around them because it’s safe.
I like to see a man teach our young men I know from being a single mom. I applaud you.
I’m a black woman and I agree with you. I always taught my children you look like you want a job not like you need a job.
Maybe the ladies questioning your way of raising a child wasn't fortunate enough to have a strong father in their house..
That's probably true.
But that can’t be the reason. They still should know on the surface to recognize that men raise boys and women raise girls. If the man is doing right by the boy, then there should be the respect of silence when the man is teaching. Just like the man should be totally silent when the woman is teaching. The man and woman are on the same team.
The average black woman.
Shoot I didn't have a father at all and still know a MAN can only teach a male how to be a MAN.
NOPE, WRONG. I HAD A VERY PRESENT FATHER. IN MY HOUSE! VERY STRONG ARM. ALL MY LIFE! COME UP WITH ANOTHER EXCUSE.
I didn't have a strong father in my home, but I had a strong lil God fearing mother. She raised all 6 of us alone. She taught us right from wrong. She was a praying woman and. Didn't allow us to do as others. We had rules. She raised us on old school. I thank her dearly God rest her sole
Let me say this...I am a black woman and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE LOVE❤ how your passion show for being a King and teaching others how Kings should be ...someone left the blueprint for you and now you're sharing!! Stay on your sons grandson nephews and whomever else you see need the help...REAL MEN LEAD ❤💚💜👑

A lot of black women like me support you. It's not all of us. You get judged by people that stay in other people's business.
Preach... 👏
They not mature enough to understand because they never had a real man in their life and teach them.
EXACTLY!
I'm a black woman who appreciate how you handle your grandson. I wish yooooooou COULD BE my 11 year old son's mentor. A lot of young men need that kind of discipline in their lives.
They need fathers not mentors !
Talk that shit Rick that’s real talk and if you give an opportunity to a young man he does need to clean up and look like a million dollars lots of people would love to have that opportunity to work for you
I’m a black woman, Ricky. I don’t give you backlash😊. I think you’re good at mentoring your grandson.💕
And you’re correct....when a young black man show up for a job... the outward appearance is judged as part of the interview & how their look might reflect on their business (their money).
Rickey is ol school, aka, rational and precise. Good on you Rick!
Let’s see if old school helps his grandson in the new school world he will be living in. Parents and grandparents often teach things they later regret and harshness breeds resentment.

Man I’m so appreciative of this guy. He changed my perspective when I heard him share “Stop swimming through Rivers for people, who won’t walk over a puddle for you!” These words ring out self-love that’s up close and personal. God Bless Mr. Smiley🙏🏾

“Allow a King to train another king”. An untrained king is worthless to a Queen.
I totally agree with EVERYTHING you said, keep doing what you doing!! I pray God blesses and keep you safe and in perfect peace!!
Only a REAL man can teach a boy to be a man. Continue to mentor, sir.
Yes Rickey continue to do what you do, Yes many woman will complain about no good men but want to continue to baby them.
Agree
Exactly women always say I can teach my son how to be a man that bogus nonsense. A woman can't teach a boy how to be a man just like a man can't teach a girl how to be a woman. Let a real man stand up and teach him.
@@yolandaimgreat1494 We as women can only teach the respect and morals to our sons. It takes a real man with morals, dignity, up standing character and God fearing to teach a son how to become a man.
BS my son is REAL man and it’s because he had a competent parent...ME! I didn’t need a dick to do that.
Brotha I say this all the time it's good to hear it coming from a great brotha like yourself
I’m a black woman and I applaud you as well. I wanna say as black women we have to allow our kings to run our households period. As long as he’s a king! We have four daughters and why my husband says goes I got his back 100 percent. I know that he always does what’s in the best interest of our family!
What a woman.
Ebony, not many women would say what you said, they are so busy trying to wear the 👖 pants and the dress. Don't know how to work with your husband , that was a hell of a statement!!
Rickey keep doing what you're doing. I'm behind you!
Need more like you King. Please don't stop pushing for excellence.
Rickey I love ❤ listening to you because you say what folks sometimes won't say. I told my nephew to his hair when he graduated from college based on the field he was going into. I told him you don't have to listen to but folks won't hire you in your field with your hair. He always knows I will keep it 💯 and tell them what they need to hear.
Ricky I’ve been telling my female friends they cannot raise a man. When the men around trying to discipline the young men around here comes the women around “stop being so hard your mean he’s still young (15)”. Then they turnaround and say get your son he’s disrespectful... I be looking like huh.
Good morning Ricky, My Prayers Up 🙌🙏. My Condolences for your uncle and nephew's passing. God blessed you for all you do. I'm thankful for men like you ,
God blessed us with Y'all, to keep faithful knowing all is not lost.

I wish i could like this comment multiple times! Facts!
You can't just do what you want because what you want might not be good for you.
worse than fear of failure is fear of success. R. Smiley is JUST a commedian at the most. Too many dont know who to listen to. Dont listen to a FOOL IF you want to be an executive.

Peace and blessings, Rickey Smiley🙏🏽💜
Rickey that's because of the men they have had or been in their lives. That's your grandson. And you are doing a great job. Teaching him how to be a man.
That's why we got to get educated. I went to college and never did one internship and I played ball and had dreads the entire time.. I was told when I get out of college I would have to cut my hair to get a "corporate" job and I looked the same folks in the eyes and told them I would not do that. I demanded respect for the Engineering degree I EARNED. My hair and appearance played no role in me obtaining my degree. Within 6 months of graduating I got a Federal Government job as a Software Engineer and been here almost 10 years.. So what God has for you he has for you. So maybe the young man blessing that God has for him is bigger than what Rickey envisioned ...
I’m in agreement with you. Waka Flocka is a rapper, but the man is a businessman too. He be all up in front of top executives who are primarily Caucasian, and he has never cut one of his locs. They still cut him big checks and all. It’s all about how a man presents himself. You went where God led you, and allowed the people to favor you.
My children don't speak to me because I set a standard. Yet I have a family member that raised a crack head get in their ear telling them I'm judgemental. So I washed my hands.
This is so unfortunate, but sadly very common. We have to speak on these things and hold folks accountable just like Rickey did in this video. Stick to your standards!
Hey @Rocky Falls
That's where I'm at today. Everybody knows I am back in a lupus flare-up. But talking out the side of their neck because they don't seem to think I need help. The Truth , as sad as it may be, is that they "don't have the want to's!" I help in ministry, to the point of hurting myself from burnout. I'm running around like the Road Runner; without being chased by the Coyote. THAT'S MY FAULT entirely!! I never liked the saying, "you do you". But on my worst day I maintain a sincere heart of kindness and compassion to help others. I find my empathy has me going the extra mile because I love Outreach. But when I need extra hands on deck. I have learned to pray for God's sufficiency to send it by giving me favor with a few good people. Look, sometimes you just straight up need help. No shame about it! I just happen to be more invested in seeing people through God's.eyes .An undeniable gift and calling that I won't let anyone put a damper of negativity on, because they have no vision of their own to follow. You dream killers you. You are deflaters and haters. You know who you are and so does the mercy of God.
@don't care honor your parents and be kind to your children. Dont be so disrespectful.
All of you that's salty were probably a problem to your family. For the record I don't f with my ungrateful brats. They was asking for money I said hell no.
We appreciate all you do to focus on our young men. Keep dropping nuggets. Yes speak to them with love but getting the message your sending to them. Be blessed Rickey. You are old school and I'm with you. A 67 year old grandmother here. Respect.
I never knew how deep Ricky was until recently. His Kirk Franklin video was like he was talking to me personally. God bless you Ricky.

Thank you for your time in abundance in efforts!!

Ricky good morning, but don't let these ignorant people dictate your blessed life ✨
I hear you... women forget that they are not men, I don't care if they are single. A queen can not produce a king. Simple ...point blank.
I don’t know who they are but I truly appreciate all that you do and continue blessings.
Amen brother! I've experienced the same thing and have said the exact same thing. In today's world what's wrong is now right, and what's right is now wrong. The mindset of these women is so common that you sometimes find yourself questioning what you're doing, like "damn am I trippin?"
This video was definitely reassuring bro!

I soo relate to what you are saying. I am a Black male working in schooling. There have been times when I have tried to make the young Black boys see something different. Give them a different insight.. Be better.. But it's always the mother who comes and makes a complaint. And then after they see their incompetence has got them no where. It's sad.. But true
Wow
Ricky thank you for being you & helping these young black males. For all the black women saying something I'm praying one day you'll appreciate what Ricky is doing cause I'm sure your boys need it
4:20 that football analogy was a good point. Let men train men and get out the way 🤔💯
Rickey everything you are saying... is spot on my brother. Keep on keepin on!
As a man that was raised by my mother and no father, Rickey is absolutely correct. tuff love and discipline is vital in a young’s mans life, Without that structure your bound to go astray as I did. As an adult I had to find myself and I’m still a work in progress, we need to appreciate and applaud men like Rickey that has not lost the principles of what it is to be a real man and what it takes to mold a young man into a king.
These are the conversations that need to be had. We are losing our BLACK BOYS because we have changed the narrative on how to bring them up the right way. I am a single mother raising a Black Son and I accept Positive influential people like YOU that take time to drop wisdom on how to be a KING. I can’t do it alone so I take help in any format it comes in. Awards for being a good father? We do not know if they are good fathers. We only know of what they have allowed us to see. And if we are going to award men for doing their job, then we must award millions of women for doing their jobs. Now I do agree that women should be quiet when men are raising their kids. Part of our problem is being a single mother for generations, we think we know best....and without a living example we sometimes do not know our places.

👏👏👏 Rickey Keep being who you are!! A Real Man making a difference in people lives special black children... you have always been consistent with your message and treatment of people...
You are correct Rickey!! When some women see a man raising a boy to be responsible, something inside of them goes haywire. And that will be the same guy they will talk about when he’s a grown man that he ain’t nothing. The reason he ain’t nothing will be because of some women...let the man do what he is supposed to do and you just stay out of it. If he ain’t abusing the boy and he’s training him to be responsible and a productive young man, leave it alone and be quiet.
Handel your business when it come to teaching leading and guiding the next genetation and being a example to those who never had that type of leadership.
