Rickey I feel the same way. My dad that is 87 tells me try to stay alive. I lost my mom and my family hasn't been the same since. I listen to old school music to make me feel better, it takes me back to a happier time. I am praying for everyone.

The sad thing is you try to tell these young people (teenagers) to stay aware of their environment at all times but they are all looking down at their phones watching TikTok and other irrelevant stuff. Someone could run up on them and they not even know it until it's too late.

Time has ran out we are in the last days. Read Matthew chapter 24. This is FOR EVERYONE GET YOUR HOUSE IN ORDER. The bible says in the last days MEN HEARTS WILL BEGIN TO FAIL THEM. Thats why its so much anxiety.

To lower my anxiety I tell myself, everyday that I am only responsible for what I can control. And that outside of myself and the area 1 foot around me, everything else. I mean EVERYTHING ELSE. Is out of my control.
I breathe and I pray. Then I walk in positivity. I even take time to myself to break down and sob but I set a timer for 20 minutes and after that timer I suck it up and keep pushing.

Thank you for sharing this! My only saving grace from anxiety is that I have been working from home since the start of the pandemic. I just wrote on a sticky note "I AM ONLY RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT I CAN CONTROL" and then I wrote "BREATHE, PRAY, WALK IN POSITIVITY" These words were what I needed to read today and they will be posted in front of me as a reminder!

I have learned I can not control the actions of others....and I stay mindful of the blessings of my life and the people around me. We are in different times.

My younger sister passed away in 2011 I thank about her alot, she wasn't able to walk are talk but she always had a smile she had fluid on the brain, miss you so much, little sis 😭😭

The reason I can say you never get over death is because I lost my mother in 1961, long for her every single day. The way I get through is by reminding myself that God had 1 Son, whom he sent to die for us ALL. You be blessed sister.

@@maryjohnson1144 I agree. Eventually the grieve and sadness lessens and we learn to use positive coping but you never stop missing someone you loved and had an attachment with. My mother died 32 years ago from cancer and occasionally/sporadically, i cry especially when I have a fond memory of her. However, I no longer grieve.

This is making me want to cry! I thought that these feelings were just mine. The state of mind that people are in. Yes! That is exactly what I have experienced driving! It's crazy! It rattles me! Rickey, I SOOOOO feel every single word! I had to remove myself from the noise and people that harass my triggers. Today, my relationship with God is tighter as never before! Seriously, I'm in lightweight quarantine with God and it silences my anxiety. My advice is make your paper and GET OUT THE NOISE, every opportunity you get!

Brother Smiley, I'm with you!!! I'm seeing a psychologist because it's taking a toll on my body and mind. It's affecting how I'm raising my kids and marriage. Thank God I have a good husband, your frat brother, who totally understands me. When I dream about my grandfather, another Omega man, the dream feels so real! I just think that's my happy place and it's him letting me know that everything is going to be ok. But I swear, we have the same issues. Sometimes I think society wants us to be afraid...they get rich off of fear. I'll continue to pray for everyone. You might want to stop watching the news. I do...I just watch old and funny shows like Sanford and Son, Ms. Pat, Good Times, What's Happening, the Jeffersons, and etc. but the news ain't on the list. I'm thankful for my Granny still being here at (98) and I hug her 3 days a week when I help with her care. She's seen so much and we don't tell her of all the death, but she's not afraid; she a praying Woman😇If you have a God fearing Grandmother, go sit next to her and listen 🥰
I applaud him for sharing his emotions and feelings, they are valid and real. I live alone and my nerves have been bad since the beginning of COVID-19. I had the fear of contracting COVID-19, I was depressed,overeat, and overwhelmed. I gave it to the Lord because I couldn’t continue to live in fear. I pray that God gives Rickey and everyone else that’s struggling, peace and the reassurance that despite all that’s going on, God is still in control.
Rickey stop watching those videos with people being sick. You have to protect your mind and mental health. The Bible says to think and dwell on pleasant things so your mind can be sound. I lost my 2nd grandchild shot 2times in the head at 17 yrs old, Saturday, December 17, 2011, coming to the hospital to see my Mama who was dying of colon cancer. He died instantly. Bought my Mama home that Monday. She expired on Saturday, December 26, 2011. Had to have a double home going service. Then my last baby, my 23 yrs old son, shot on MLK BDAY, Monday, January 19, 2015. Expired Monday, February 02, 2015. This doesn't get no easier for me.
My heart cries out all the time. Many blessings and much love. I wish I could talk to you. I'm 67 yrs old. My birthday is coming up November 11th

You know, I always tell my children how fortunate I was to have been raised in the 70's. I told them that my upbringing has helped me raise them with extremely strong morals and values.

Ricky, you're not alone knowing this pandemic is a plague. The environmental destruction ,injustices,and disparities. I've been wanting to just visit the cemetery where my grandparents are buried for some peace. Sometimes it's like a living dead feeling.
Rickey you are not alone. There are so many of us who have these feelings and thoughts about what's going on around us these days...some too ashamed, proud or fearful to admit it. To have to be on guard, alert and conscious of your surroundings constantly out of concern for your safety and well being is sooo exhausting but totally necessary. Train a child to reverence God and respect others. When we as parents don’t do that, this is what everyone has to live with. Smh, but the sad thing is that people make such negative nasty comments about Ricky in regards to how he raises his grandson. Rickey understands and knows the importance of why he is raising his grandson like this. One less jailbird to deal with. Rickey I’m from the Caribbean and I’m right here with you when it comes to raising a child. You understand the importance of being tough on a kid, teaching them right from wrong. You got to start when they’re young not when there older. It’s too late because they have grown into their own person and have learned different behaviors and when that happens it’s like talking to a brick. I watch all the videos Rickey post when he’s discussing comments that ppl leave in regards to how he’s raising his grandson and I just smile because these ppl who leave these comments just don’t understand why and what he’s doing. Then y’all complain about the world and how bad it is with all the killing and crimes! If all parents did what Rickey is doing with his grandson maybe the world wouldn’t be that bad to live in after all. If Ricky was a weak minded Individual, he would’ve crumbled already with all those negative comments y’all post about his ability to raise his Grandson. Watch and learn is what I have to say to y’all. In the Caribbean, we do not hesitate to give our children a backhand when they wanna be rude or disrespectful or even think of rolling their eyes. God loves you Ricky and we do too. Do what we must do to stay as safe as possible and know God is in control! Pray without ceasing, trust in God always. Anxiety is at its height in all of us. I have a teenage son and I broke down crying uncontrollably a few weeks ago because I fear for his mind and life continually, then I remembered to have faith never let go of faith and hope in God. Keep talking to any young person in your presence, they need us and God more than ever. Don't give up on one the ones who will listen and keep talking to the ones who don't listen, maybe your words will be the words that will stop them from continuing to make terrible choices.

It's crime and bad things everywhere. Hurricane Katrina for me wasn't the worse thing I've been through. I so thank GOD for my parents. God bless you Rickey! These are difficult times for everybody! It helps to just talk it out! You need to talk, we are here to listen with no judgement. It helps us too, because many of us feel the exact same overwhelming anxiety and though we need to express it openly, we don't! Listening to someone else express what they feel confirms to us it is "normal" to feel what we are feeling in light of all that is going on around us. Keep doing what you're doing and be encouraged! We're listening, we're praying for you, and we love you!

My Pastor has probably has done 60-100 plus funerals in the last 2 years. This is a time to still quarantine, pray & stay close to GOD. My Mom passed 9/11/2021 not from Covid-19. We never know when it’s our time. I was reading my bible this morning from Romans 15:4 The scriptures (Bible) exist to give us encouragement & hope! This is what I cling to is God’s Word. It’s all we have!
