This helped me identify the problem being that the distributor spout had the little plastic bits broken off that connects to the drip stop duct to hold them together. I ordered a new one for $26 NZD. The only thing different to your tutorial fix was that I had a third screw at back of unit to undo, and after lifting off casing I had to lift of the top part of the unit with the grey cable coming out that controls the capsule insert. Then I could take off distributor spout and replace and connect to duct and put it all back. Thanks for taking time to film this fix.
Thanks so much! The small tabs had broken off of the nozzle piece for me so the coffee would just drip back into the tray. Replaced the nozzle piece for $10 with the help of your video.
Thank you! I am enjoying my favourite Coffee again. I wasn't coping during my period of deprivation, until I saw your video. Excellent job. Saved me having to send my machine away for repair. I managed to tease the black outer nozzle part out of my machine without taking the coloured cover off first. Mind you, my coloured cover does not attach too well anyway and flexes well where you need it too. Knowing where the two lugs were located enabled me to insert a thin screw driver in to pop them off. Thank you once again.
Cheers for your help pulling apart this coffee machine. Mine had a broken distributor, so ordered a replacement part for eBay and you helped save the day. Thanks again fella.
Thank you so much! The larger nozzle was not hooked any longer and i was able to put it back in place thanks to your video. Just one additional tip for others: once you have hooked the larger nozzle over the clip at the back, push on the larger nozzle and you will hear it clipping itself in place, otherwise it will become loose again.
I know you have read at least 100 thaning comments but would also like to thank you so much for this helpful video. Respect and best regards from Poland.
Thanks !!! My machine 'broke' this morning and, despite having a slightly different built than yours, was in fact suffering from the same symptom and I was able to put it back in place. It now works. This said, I notice that the fork with the two small holes holding the lower nozzle seem to have widen a bit. It may need further tinkering if problem reoccurs.... (maybe using a small nylon cable tie or something to keep it tight...)
Thanks very much for the useful video. In my case the nozzle had actually broken so ended up having to buy a spare part but this video was very useful to take the machine apart and investigate the problem.
Thanks so much Chris for posting this video. My Nespresso is now fixed and I'm getting my coffee fix ;-). We used a small flat head screwdriver, and that worked perfectly.
Thanks Chris... took me awhile... I'm not the handiest guy in the world but I was able to fix it. I guess one key step that should be underlined is that the machine should NEVER be on without the water tank, I almost burn my machine doing so.... also another step is that the user should make sure that the "carriage" is in the back that way you can maneuver easier and insert both of the nozzles in place... (Once I realized this, I was able to insert and place them ) in seconds... thank you... very helpful!
Hi - thanks for the video it saved me buying a new machine. I had a slightly different problem. The larger plastic piece that the capsule mates against has two little lugs on the side and the nozzle piece slides on these lugs as per your video. These two lugs were stuffed - one broken off and the other worn down. so the nozzle piece was falling down and the coffee was going inside the machine. Its not a great design and will wear out eventually. I fixed it (at least temporarily) by using a soldering iron to melt the plastic immediate near where the lugs were and pushing this out about 1 mm to make a new set of lugs. Works well and will hopefully buy another year or so out of the machine.
Worked perfectly, thanks! I was not able to use a flat blade screwdriver to loosen the screws. Instead I used a small drill bit to drill out the anti-tamper pin in the middle, then used a T10 Torx bit to remove the screw. Also, I had the broken plastic tabs others had mentioned, so I superglued the inside perimeter of the large plastic piece. Seems to be holding.
This worked for me perfectly!! Thank you SO much for posting such a great step-by-step video. Also, for anyone who may be wondering, I used a 2.4 mm flathead to get those screws out of the bottom.
Wouldn't regret that Nico, my machines nearly 5 years old now and i've had to use this trick a few times. Torx bit will prevent stripping the screws so you can fix it next time!
Thanks for that! Saved a trip ( & €150.00 )to replace the broken machine, the entire operation took less 10 minutes. The irony is that even though the machine was a present from my darling wife ( she is the only regular to use it in our household), i still brew up on a cafetiere...
Excellent video! I was close to the point of buying a new machine (and a bit concerned by the possibility that it might have the same or a different problem). However, a couple of days after I fixed it, the problem came back. So I took it apart again, and noticed that the little tab on the bottom of the nozzle was broken. The nozzle has two tabs, on top and bottom, and they snap onto matching parts on the body of the machine. If either of these is broken (and the plastic is ridiculously thin), then no amount of putting the nozzle back in place is going to keep it fixed. At this point, you have a choice: (1) you can epoxy (or otherwise glue) the nozzle permanently in place, or (2) you can buy a replacement part (or two). I chose to look for spare parts on the internet even though it meant being a couple of days without my Nespresso coffee, because it's a better solution that won't have unexpected problems later. I was able to order a couple from buyparts.com, which gets $3.75 for the part, but charges $8.99 for shipping (hey, what can you do, right?).
Thanks Chris! You solved my problem. I'm the curious type and was about to open the machine to figure out what the problen was. I could tell that it was not an electrical nor a parts problem as I take good care of it. So, I guessed that it might be something not too complicated but decided to check on youtube before going for it. Boom! I found your video and it solved the problem. Thanks for posting and sharing. I'm having a cup of my favorite espresso for you! Cheers!
For those who need, this is the replacement part I ordered. My spout thingy had three broken bits! smile.amazon.com/NESPRESSO-DISTRIBUTOR-SPOUT-DELONGHI-MAGIMIX/dp/B01M0DZ7MZ/ref=smi_www_rco2_go_smi_g3905707922?_encoding=UTF8&%2AVersion%2A=1&%2Aentries%2A=0&ie=UTF8#customerReviews
Awesome. Thank you. I fixed my machine. Slight difference was the clips on my nozzle weren't broken but the two front little teeth had broken off. They push the little aqueduct up and down. So the new plastic spout ordered on eBay fixed it.
I had similar symptoms, but a different problem. In my case the the holder of the front smaller nozzle ( shown at 1:48, with the two holes that hold the two pins ) just widened and loosened a bit, to make the nozzle dip backwards into the wrong position. I fixed this by tightening a metal wire around it. Thanks for the video and disassembly tips.
Thank you so much for a very informative video that helped me to fix my coffee machine and save having to buy a new one. I'm hoping the repair lasts as the little plastic tabs weren't in great shape with one broken off. Fingers crossed...
Thanks - I had a similair problem - rather than the bigger spout casing coming loose, the smaller spout had been knocked when a capsule caused a jam. Same approach helped to fix that.
Hello. What kind of screwdriver did you use? How did you improvise? I believe mine is broken as I found a small piece of plastic, but I haven't managed to get it open yet
Thanks. That helped a lot. In case useful to anyone else: Mine seemed to break during the first descale (near the end). I don't know if descaling puts it under more stress - I heard a cracking/crunching sound during the process (maybe a break or the machine catching the bit out if place) and water stopped coming through the nozzle. The internal nozzle piece looks like it has a coach above and below, hard to tell, but if so the bottom one has broken so not sure how well it will remain in place, but seems to work for now. Shame as it had been working perfectly!!!
Many thanks! Mine did the same a few days after the 3 year warranty expired :( The small plastic bit was cracked and a chunk was missing but it still works. For now
Thanks Heaps, I have 2 mechines same problem, unfortunately some of the plastic clips on the nozzle are broken so am trying a bit of glue fingers crossed :) the other one the spout thing is just worn down so I have left the cover off and will have to stand there pushing on the cover :)
This works, mostly. It appears that there can be two things that go wrong with these two plastic parts. The large part in the back is clipped to the extraction device with two pretty small clips, that can easily break off when the mechanism moves forward and backward and jams a bit. The small part is hinged on two small pins, which could also break in the same situation. Depends on what gives first. For me, one of the clips on the larger part that goes in the back broke off. With only one clip left, this part can't be properly attached to the machine anymore. I wonder if this is what some people in this thread described as 'broken again', the larger part just popping off again because there is only one clip. Anyway. since I didn't want to wait for a new part to ship to me, I used contact glue to glue the larger part right onto the extraction device. Works fine. The coffee doesn't run over the glue joint, so I am not too worried about stuff getting into my coffee. If you are less lucky and one of the pins on the other part broke, glue won't help you unfortunately, and you need a replacement part (unless you fancy fashioning a new pin onto the plastic). Enjoy!
+Tobias Reinecke There are commercial spare part suppliers, but you might be better off buying a new machine for the prices they charge. eBay seems to have reasonable options. Just punch the model number of the machine into eBay and it'll give you a list of spare parts.

Hi, thanks for the comment. The clip only physically broke once in about 6 years and I've had to open it up once more as it became detached. However, in the last few years there has been no issue.
Perfect video! Thanks so much for posting, saved me a whole load of money. Funny how when I called the Nespresso help line they said de-scaler and then if it is still doing the same thing it would be cheaper to buy a new machine! I have ordered a new steam cover (
+Fernando DeBrito Hi Fernando, I cannot remember off the top of my head but I think I ended up using a small flat head. I'll take a look when I get home.
+Chris Wall thanks so much. I tried a tiny flathead (2mm I think) and it worked. In my case the problem was not detached but the part of the rear unit that attaches to the front nozzle was clogged. I needed to clean it with q-tips and now it works. Thanks for the video on how to open and disassemble this unit.
Thanks... mine is slightly different, has two clips for the large part. Bottom one snapped off. IT still works though... will look on ebay see what I can fine
Thanks so much this saved us!! @fernando Debrito The screw on my one was this wierd star thing with a 'nipple' i gave up trying to find one and used a meat cleaver alone the edge where the cover connected to the unit, chopped it off. This is my 2nd Keurig coffee maker of this model. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf The first worked fine for more than 2 years, and I could still get a decent cup of coffee out of it if I fiddled with it when I decided to replace it. The problem I had with my first unit was this: When attempting to brew a cup of coffee, the unit would either keep brewing until the coffee was undrinkable or it would not run long enough and the coffee produced was way too strong. I cleaned the unit as best I could but it did not help. So in the end it was just too much trouble to get a good cup of coffee out of it, so I decided to replace it with a new one, which has been working great since I unpacked it.
At 2:12, you see the "larger nozzle". For us, this is the part that was broken, and did not tip the small half forward. I am in the US and I have a replacement part on order from www.buyspares.com. The part is called a "Genuine Steam Cover" $7.45 plus $8.99 shipping www.buyspares.com/steam-cover/product.pl?pid=3481252

This is probably the single most helpful video I found and followed the instructions of in my life. Thanks a lot!
Thanks so much Chris for posting this video. My Nespresso is now fixed and I'm getting my coffee fix ;-). We used a small flat head screwdriver, and that worked perfectly.
This video just saved my machine. Thank you!

OUTSTANDING! This is exactly what happened to mine! I have a slightly different model but the fix was the same! Thanks for posting this!

Worked for me. saved $140!! Thanks so much.
Thanks so much your video was great. I just fixed a machine that was going to be thrown out. 🤗👌👌👌👌👌👌
Thanks for the simple easy to follow video. Saved my Nespresso!
Thank you!!!! Fixed my machine in 5 minutes!!! Excellent instructions 👍👍
Thank you! This helped me fixed my machine, the slide was broken and I had to improvise a fix, but now it is all up and working.
Hello. What kind of screwdriver did you use? How did you improvise? I believe mine is broken as I found a small piece of plastic, but I haven't managed to get it open yet
Thanks a lot brother. I just discovered the issue amd folloed the steps and now I am enjoying my cup of coffee 🌷☺️
Hi Chris, thanks for the great video, it worked perfectly! And yes, a tiny flat head screwdriver and some determination worked on those screws.
Thank you, appeared to be exactly my problem, and very easy fix with the steps provided!
Thank you so much for this video. You just saved me from having to buy a whole new unit. I appreciate it
Thanks for the video, just fixed my nespresso U, very easy to follow, cheers
Thanks my friend, extremely useful. It looks like is THE PROBLEM of these nespresso model. they should do something to correct it in the design.
Yay! You’re the best! This totally worked step by step as you said!
Thank you, Chris. Your video is very helpful. My machine repaired!
Worked perfectly. I was ready to throw it away and purchase a new machine. Thanks.
Thanks, very helpful! I couldn't actually attach the larger nozzle but I simply used scotch tape and it worked!
Thanks for the video, mine had the same issue today and was easy to fix following your instructions
Thanks For The Video Mate, You have saved my day
Got my part from Ebay by searching for Nespresso Steam Cover
Just fixed my U following this vid. Thanks!
Thanks Chris just saved me £80 or a new machine
Thx! This just gave me the confidence to rip open my coffee machine. And I actually fixed it!
I'm having the same problem. I'll try to repair my machine. I'll probably get stuck on thoses screws, but I'll try any way. Thaks for the video.
worked perfectly. thanks so much for this video. Saved me from buying a new machine!

Shame as it had been working perfectly!!!
"Catch" not coach!
+Carl Allen Hi Carl, now that you mention it, I think the machine was descaled recently. Good call.
Many thanks! Mine did the same a few days after the 3 year warranty expired :( The small plastic bit was cracked and a chunk was missing but it still works. For now
Thank you! Coffee seems to be flowing. For now. Fingers crossed!!
Thank you very much for your video! This worked for me as well!!! No need to buy a new coffee machine!!!
Some times I just love the internet. Many thanks for this helpful vid. /Johan Sweden
Thanks Heaps, I have 2 mechines same problem, unfortunately some of the plastic clips on the nozzle are broken so am trying a bit of glue fingers crossed :) the other one the spout thing is just worn down so I have left the cover off and will have to stand there pushing on the cover :)

Thanks for the video...but I cannot work out the tool I should use???

+Jochen Heinzmann Good comment. But who will sell you replacement parts...?
+Tobias Reinecke There are commercial spare part suppliers, but you might be better off buying a new machine for the prices they charge. eBay seems to have reasonable options. Just punch the model number of the machine into eBay and it'll give you a list of spare parts.
+Jochen Heinzmann Thank you Jochen...
Amazing instructions worked perfectly thank you!!
thanks for the video, this fixed my machine!
Great vid! I uncased my machine as you said although my top nozzle was not loose, but working perfectly.
My lower channel was loose though and was tilting backwards into the reservoir. If I held the channel down the coffee would spill into it and out the front and not back - but if I let it go it fell backwards again.
To solve this I left the nozzle casing off when putting the machine back together, I just have to hold the channel down everytime I make a coffee now. Not a proper fix but it works the same.
Whats the song also in the video??
Cheers
+David Wyld I am in the same boat. Not sure why it is tilted backwards.
The screw head type is called pin-in torx, size T10. The pin-in keeps you from using a regular torx. You can get this kind of driver at Harbor Freight.
Also called "tamper torx"
Great, it took me 20 min to get it fixed
Thank you! I just fixed a "broken" U thanks to you. Question. Does this come detached frequently? I got the machine at goodwill used so wonder if this will keep happening. Seems a poor design function.
Hi, thanks for the comment. The clip only physically broke once in about 6 years and I've had to open it up once more as it became detached. However, in the last few years there has been no issue.
Excellent.....Yay Thank you.....okay mine didnt detach completely... but having a great cuppa again :)
Perfect video! Thanks so much for posting, saved me a whole load of money. Funny how when I called the Nespresso help line they said de-scaler and then if it is still doing the same thing it would be cheaper to buy a new machine! I have ordered a new steam cover (
This worked perfectly! Thank you.
great tutorial! too bad there isn't a vendor in the US that sells the replacement part.
Thanks! it's back in business :)
Second machine repaired and thanks again!
Worked a treat !!!! Top video
Thank you very much. It worked for me.
You are awesome. it works.
Hi Chris. Thanks for the video. One question. What kind of screw driver do I need. I have tried Torx but no size seems to go in....
For future reference: Tamper-proof Torx T-10 (aka tamper torx, pin-in torx).
Thanks... mine is slightly different, has two clips for the large part. Bottom one snapped off. IT still works though... will look on ebay see what I can fine
Amazing Chris! Thanks so much!
Thanks so much this saved us!!
@fernando Debrito
The screw on my one was this wierd star thing with a 'nipple' i gave up trying to find one and used a meat cleaver alone the edge where the cover connected to the unit, chopped it off. The cover still slides on and off - Nesspresso just put it in as a tamper proof thing so you have to buy a new one - baddddd nesspresso!!!
Great help! Thanks!!
What kind of screwdriver did you use?
Just one add on. My machine had 3 screws. One on the back of the cover also!
Thank u guy !!! You save my breakfast !!! :-)
pity Mr wall didnt mention that the machine should first be switched on and the WHOLE mechanism should be at the back so that both nozzles fall out. Otherwise he does get it right.
Cheers, thank you!
We removed the screws and the cover still won’t come off. Any suggestions?
You need to slightly widen the bottom then lift it off.
Chris Wall thank you, it worked!
Thanks a lot!
I checked my Nespresso nozzle and the two small pins were worn or broken . A new part purchased for € 4.95 and it works again.
+Roger Arnoldussen Where did you purchase the parts? Thanks - btw...
+Tobias Meinecke www.koffiemachine-onderdelen.nl/onderdelen-capsule-machines/onderdelen-nespresso-machines/onderdelen-krups-nespresso-u-pure

Thanks,
you helped me :)

So in the end it was just too much trouble to get a good cup of coffee out of it, so I decided to replace it with a new one, which has been working great since I unpacked it.
Can anyone help? I got the screws out, but the cover does not slide up as shown. What's the trick?
+Music Girl Nevermind, I watched another video that gave me the clue.
It's broken again.....can you please re-fix it?
you broke it again?
Or maybe your 'fix' was only temporary?!
