Tried about 10 strategies and none worked. This one worked. In my case it was crucial to have just a tiny amount of water in the reservoir. If it is full, it does not work even putting it gently. Thank you a lot.

Bought a nespresso citiz machine second hand off eBay and when it arrived I had the same issue no water flowing through. I googled the problem and watch you tube videos and tried all the advice given nothing worked. I watched your video and tried this method for almost two hours and still nothing I had completely ran out of patience. I decided to leave the machine alone for a day thinking about returning it and with one last go miraculously water started to flow! Thank you for your video and to anyone fixing their own machine do not give up it WILL work just persevere

Just watched your video and did what you advise. Took a few gos but... hey presto.. water flowing for the first time! Thanks a million! Amazing. I was going to dump the machine! 😮

You just saved me almost $1000 (Canadian) dollars. No low pressure water on my five year old machine and no Breville service available within 1000km. Your very simple solution (on the Nespresso model!) worked first time. That this simple solution is not on any Breville documentation implies to me that Breville are happy to see machines thrown out in the junk pile because of a simple air lock. VERY bad PR for the company is these "Right to Repair' days.

Thank you so much!! You just saved me hours of frustration and disappointment. I had to do the pumping and releasing air bubbles several times before the bubbles ceased. At that point it wasn’t quite drawing water in so I took the air bag option you mentioned and tried to press it in on top of water as it pumped. The bag quickly popped but apparently it created just enough pressure for the water to get past any remaining air.
Again, thank you! Me without espresso is a terrible thing to behold.

So bizarre. I thought my U machine had finally had a nervous breakdown. Hadn’t used it for months and tried several other methods to stop the 3 flashing lights which mean add water. Nothing. Then, on the umpteeth try to just make coffee and hope it would eventually start to work, it started making odd noises, running indefinitely with nothing coming out, and never releasing the pod as the U normally does automatically. Was really going to chuck it and then watched your video. It’s hilarious that you don’t know how it works but that it does and, guess what! I gently jiggled the water reservoir a few times, as you said to do, and up came bubbles and then out came coffee! The machine is acting like nothing had ever been wrong!
Thanks a bunch. Love my old machine!

This helped a lot in understanding what went wrong. I got a twist on this fix. What I did was is set the unit in the bathtub, remove the reservoir, get a about a 5 foot long piece of clear vinyl tube that is .75" outside diameter and press it to the hole at the bottom where the reservoir seats and extend the tube up to head level. Make sure it is a tight fit by blowing into the end of the tube. Once it is tight, fill the tube with water, make sure it does not leak. Turn the machine on, press the big cup button and blow like hell into the tube. It took a couple attempts but it started pumping water. Yea!

It didn’t work on my new machine. But you idea spurred me to use the rubber bulb of a turkey blaster to pressurize the water. That and lifting the water tank off and on worked. Thanks.

What a genius! I tried all the other tricks and no results. This worked perfect. You’re a real swell guy! Thanks

Thanks mate, you saved me from a couple of hard mornings! Our regular automatic coffee machine just broke down on us, and as I got the backup nespresso from storage, it had the same issue, but this fixed it in a minute!

Good video. This technique worked for me. My machine was sat in the cupboard for about 2 years and wouldn’t pump water. Thanks for the info 👍🏻 now I can sit back and smell the coffee ☕️ 😂
