  • Follow these examples to get more sounds of out your kit. Explore the sounds your drumset makes by using a snareless strike, the rims, the hardware, and a different method with the sticks to add flavor to your playing - from the PAS Classroom with Murray Piper
PAS Classroom is a video series focused on quick and valuable tips and tricks for percussionists, drummers, music students, and (in particular) music educators. Learn techniques and strategies you can take back to your percussion classroom or performance in under three minutes. PAS Classroom is created and produced by the Education Committee of the Percussive Arts Society.
Murray Piper is a member of the PAS Drumset Committee and a noted performer, instructor, clinician, and adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins University Peabody Preparatory Institute. Piper is the founder and director of Passionate Drumming & Music Lessons, which was driven from his early passion for drums. Piper received his B.S. music degree with a concentration in instrumentalists from Morgan State University.
PAS members have access to the many more resources in our extensive library at pas.org, and get a discounted registration to the Percussive Arts International Convention (PASIC), the premiere percussion event each year with over 100 world-class clinicians, concerts, new music debuts, workshops and hours of educator professional development. Give your students these benefits as well (plus an exclusive Masterclass) with a Group or Studio Membership.
